Daphne suggested with a smile, "Why don’t we just hide in the Battlefield of the Gods? As soon as we encounter soone with a Law, we’ll imdiately kill them and snatch the Laws from them. That way, we could collect a lot of Laws."

Jiang Chen smiled. "What’s the point of collecting other Laws? I can only refine the Law of Destruction, and you can only refine the Rule of Dream. We both are bound to first-category Laws. It’s difficult to exchange them successfully. It would be faster to look for Beasts of Destruction."

Daphne replied, "But that’s not necessarily true. What if soone has the Law of Destruction? If you happen to have a Law they need, you could just swap."

"There are countless Laws," Jiang Chen mused. "How could it be that easy? It’s harder than winning the lottery! Let’s go. We should enter the Battlefield of the Gods."

After saying that, the two headed towards the Battlefield of the Gods, following the guide to the location shown on the map.

The entire Battlefield of the Gods was like a continent, full of pits and hollows, as if it had been the site of a great battle between all the gods. In the Battlefield of the Gods, a black aura perated the air, continuously devouring a person’s life force. It could only be resisted with Laws.

Just as she stepped into the Battlefield of the Gods, Daphne felt her life force ebbing away. She quickly took out an Elixir and swallowed it, which made her feel sowhat better. This Elixir could counteract the black aura of the Battlefield of the Gods, preventing Daphne from being devoured and turning into a monster. After absorbing the Law of Devouring, Jiang Chen could use its power to resist the black aura.

Daphne said, "I can only go to the periphery. Once inside the deeper parts of the Battlefield of the Gods, even this Elixir would be useless."

"What a strange place."

"Yeah, a black gas that can devour life force. If soone gets consud by this black aura, they turn into Dark Creatures and live forever in the Battlefield of the Gods. It’s said that even Divines dare not enter its depths, and that even the Power of Laws can be devoured there," Daphne added.

Jiang Chen nodded.

Despite its dangers, the potential rewards from the Battlefield of the Gods were high! It was even possible to directly beco a Divine.

The two continued walking. Before long, they ca across a Dark Creature shrouded in black mist, its eyes turned into black pits. This Dark Creature was humanoid. It was clearly one of the Continent of All-Gods’ Heroes who had once co to try their luck in the Battlefield of the Gods, only to be completely consud by the black aura and turned into a monster.

The humanoid monster noticed Jiang Chen and Daphne. Wielding a Great Sword, it charged towards them. A beam of Magic Sword Qi shot towards them, but Jiang Chen grabbed Daphne and used Instant Step to evade.

Daphne exclaid, "That’s a Demon Swordsman Skill! This person must have been a Magic Swordsman from the Continent of All-Gods in their lifeti and still retains their Badge powers. This black aura not only corrupts the body but even the Badges; the Skills have changed as well."

Jiang Chen nodded. The Sword Qi that had just attacked was indeed Magic Sword Qi, still a Demon Swordsman Skill. This Sword Qi was slightly different from a typical Magic Swordsman’s Skills; it was even stronger than a standard Magic Swordsman’s Sword Qi.

Defeating this corrupted Magic Swordsman was fairly simple—just chop off its head—but Jiang Chen wanted to observe its capabilities. He wanted to understand the differences between a blackened Magic Swordsman and a normal one. Jiang Chen imdiately engaged the blackened Magic Swordsman in combat.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

Its Skills were stronger than those of a non-blackened Magic Swordsman. Its body instantly healed when penetrated, and it retained a trace of its combat state, though it had no rationality. This was what Jiang Chen learned from the battle: the blackened Magic Swordsman retained the combat instincts from its past life but lacked intelligence.

Jiang Chen decapitated it with a single sword strike.

When the humanoid monster fell to the ground, lifeless, Jiang Chen picked up the Weapon it had dropped. The Weapon was also blackened.

Jiang Chen squatted down, murmuring, "Even the Weapons have been blackened. If it’s a Law, it would be blackened too. Can these blackened Laws still be used?"

Daphne replied, "They can’t be used. But once items leave the Battlefield of the Gods, the black aura returns here, and the Laws revert to their original form."

Jiang Chen stood up. This Battlefield of the Gods is so damn strange! he thought.

The two of them continued forward. Along the way, they encountered more blackened warriors. Jiang Chen didn’t hesitate to act, severing their necks, but unfortunately, these were all Demigods with no Laws in their bodies. They encountered not only corrupted Heroes from the Continent of All-Gods but also Corrupted Ones from the Defiled God Continent. They even encountered Wanderers. And indeed, standing before them now was a Wanderer.

Jiang Chen sensed the Wanderer’s aura; its True Qi was also blackened...

Jiang Chen didn’t hesitate to strike it down.

The two continued onward. Finally, they arrived at the location designated on the map: a hill surrounded by many rocks, where visibility was limited to only thirty ters. Beyond thirty ters, the scene was blurry. In the Battlefield of the Gods, even the Heart Realm was rendered useless.

Daphne looked at the map. "This is the place. We can only see within thirty ters. The Incubus Beast must be hiding. It will be very difficult to find its hiding spot."

Daphne suggested, "Then let’s enter the Dreamspace and force the Incubus Beast to make a move in the Dream World."

Jiang Chen hesitated. Fighting it in the Dreamspace? The Incubus Beast possesses the Rule of Dream there. Whether I could counter such an ability is unknown. Even though my Dreamspace has been strengthened a hundredfold, who knows if the Incubus Beast could kill in there? What if I’m no match for it? That would be a disaster. Unless absolutely necessary, I won’t enter the Dreamspace to battle the Incubus Beast.

Jiang Chen shot her a sideways glance. "Are you crazy, or am I? Let’s try to find the Incubus Beast’s true body first. It’s also possible that creature has already left this area. Anyway, let’s search the area first!"

"Alright, I’ll listen to you," Daphne conceded.

The two of them started searching the vicinity.

Just then, several blackened Heroes charged over from nearby.

Daphne exclaid, "What’s going on? They seem to have tead up! What’s happening? Aren’t they supposed to lack intelligence?"

At that mont, eight blackened Heroes spread out, forming an encirclent. This was beyond Jiang Chen’s expectations.

They can form an encirclent? Jiang Chen thought, then warned Daphne, "Be careful. These blackened Heroes seem different."

"Indeed, they are different," Jiang Chen replied, "but they’re still no match for . They are all Demigods, not Divines."

Jiang Chen imdiately unleashed his Grand River Sword Intent and perford Instant Step.

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

In an instant, seven blackened Heroes lay dead, leaving one remaining.

Jiang Chen looked at the last Hero. "What’s your na?"

The blackened Hero remained motionless.

No intelligence? Jiang Chen mused.

Daphne said, "Talking to them is pointless. They don’t possess intelligence."

"That’s strange then," Jiang Chen said. "If they lack intelligence, why would they team up to attack us? It’s clear they’re being controlled by soone else. Which ans the one controlling them is an intelligent being."

Daphne’s eyes brightened. "You an to say..."

Jiang Chen affird, "Yes. The Incubus Beast is intelligent."
