Ji Hui’s face turned pale with terror. "Senior, save ," he cried.

"Luckily, I arrived in ti."

Ji Hui listened to the movents around him. He knew a master was just ahead, but he dared not take a step. The Sword Qi was too formidable; it had injured over a dozen people in an instant.

Ji Hui’s only thought now was how to escape and clear his sins.

Ji Hui knelt on one knee. "Thank you, senior, for saving my life."

"Saving you was a small effort. Who is after you?"

"They are from the Pettis Family, re lapdogs of the Alliance of All-Gods. There’s no need for you to trouble yourself, Senior. Allow to execute them in your stead."

At this mont, Ji Hui was exceptionally calm. No one knew he was a traitor. If his treachery were to be exposed, his death would be certain.

So, after Jiang Chen severed their legs, Ji Hui had such a plan in mind.

All one saw was Ji Hui wielding a Thin Sword, turning and delivering several swift strikes.

I can’t believe I was killed by this youngster, Ji Hui! Patrick thought in disbelief.

It had to be said, Ji Hui’s swordplay was fast, fierce, and accurate, taking down several of them in a breath by slicing their throats.

In the Fallen Realm, there were ranks of power, just as there were among Heroes.

Seeing the Sword Qi flash, Ji Hui knew the person before him was definitely of a boss level—soone he couldn’t possibly contend with. As for making a quick getaway, such a thought never crossed his mind. One simply couldn’t escape in the presence of the powerful.

Jiang Chen smiled.

This is the outco I wanted. Those killed by The Fallen do not resurrect, and Patrick will not co back to life after his death. If I had acted, the outco would have been different. If Patrick resurrected, he would know that people under the Alliance of All-Gods were responsible, making it easy to track down.

CLAP. CLAP. CLAP.

Jiang Chen erged from the shadows and said with a smile, "Thank you for killing them for ."

At that mont, Ji Hui looked at Jiang Chen, sizing him up. "Who are you?"

"Am I not your senior?"

Ji Hui looked incredulous. The person standing before him was clearly a Hero, not any senior. It was all a misunderstanding, Ji Hui realized.

Ji Hui didn’t dare make any moves; the earlier flash of white light had been very dangerous.

Ji Hui said coldly, "I get it. You didn’t dare to act yourself, so you had do it. Truly despicable."

"No, I never asked you to act."

"I know your purpose. It’s for the equipnt, isn’t it? We can cooperate."

"How shall we cooperate?" Jiang Chen asked with a smile.

"Look at , I’m one of The Fallen. When I kill your people, they don’t resurrect. You’re from the Alliance of All-Gods. If there’s soone you want to deal with but it’s inconvenient for you to act, I can do it on your behalf."

"That would be beneficial for both of us," Ji Hui analyzed coldly.

Jiang Chen thought for a mont. "That’s actually not a bad idea. I think I’m intrigued. So, what do I need to provide?"

"Let live in your world. I enjoy fine wine, beautiful won, and money."

Jiang Chen smiled faintly. "Actually, I quite like those things too."

"So, are we cooperating?"

"No."

"The reason?"

"A person who can betray his own kin will eventually betray . I don’t trust you," Jiang Chen stated.

Then, Three Hundred Sword Auras swiftly attacked Ji Hui.

Ji Hui emitted True Qi to block the Sword Qi Attacks.

Unfortunately, the Three Hundred Sword Auras rapidly penetrated Ji Hui’s body. Ordinary True Qi stood no chance against Jiang Chen’s Sword Qi Attack.

The mission counter ticked up, reaching one point.

A stepped out, her gaze complex.

Jiang Chen turned around. "Let’s go, continue on our journey. Now, at last, we’re free from danger."

"Is the leader really dead?"

"I don’t know. Probably."

The two of them headed back to continue their journey.

Jiang Chen asked, "Where did Ba Jie instruct you to go?"

"To the confluence of the Evil God, or what you call the battlefield. There’s a cave there. From that cave, I’ll send out a distress signal to our superiors, hoping soone will co to our aid."

So The Fallen have a unique heritage, Jiang Chen noted with a nod. However, I have no intention of probing further. I don’t wish to get entangled with them, especially The Fallen. Saving them was only to repay a favor to the tavern owner. Though I sympathize with The Fallen, it doesn’t an I’m willing to risk my life to protect them.

A handed him a mask. "This is a Human Skin Mask, another person’s identity. Wear it, and they won’t know who you are."

Jiang Chen looked at the Human Skin Mask.

"I must say, this mask is quite soft."

"Of course it is. It’s human skin, after all," she retorted.

After putting on the mask, Jiang Chen pulled out a mirror. A stared in disbelief. He even has a mirror? Did this guy actually check his reflection when he leveled up?

Jiang Chen said, "As a Hero of the Alliance of All-Gods, I must always maintain a perfect image."

A was completely bewildered.

Only then did Jiang Chen rejoin the five hundred people, leading them onward.

A little girl ran up to Jiang Chen and handed him a stead bun. Jiang Chen glanced over. The little girl’s clothes were ragged, but her eyes were innocent and bright.

"Big brother, here’s a bun for you."

Jiang Chen replied with a smile, "Big brother doesn’t like buns. Bread suits my palate better."

He pulled out so bread.

The little girl eyed the bread, swallowing hard. She seed to have eaten sothing like it before; it was very tasty bread.

Alright then! Since you’re so cute, you can have this. But let take a bite first... Jiang Chen thought. He took a bite of the bread before handing it to the little girl.

A shook her head in silence. What kind of person is this? If you’re going to give it, just give it. Why take a bite yourself?

"For to eat?"

"Yes."

"Thank you, big brother."

The little girl joyfully hugged the bread and ran back, exclaiming, "Mom, big brother gave bread!"

"Did you thank big brother?"

"I did. Mom, you have so."

"You eat it, I’m not hungry."

"But I heard your stomach growling."

Her mother was speechless.

Jiang Chen looked at their food; it was mostly stead buns. Reluctantly, he took out bread from his storage. Fortunately, he had brought enough this ti to give one to each person.

"Thank you."

"Thank you."

"Thank you."

...

After distributing the bread, he offered one to A. A shook her head. "No need, I like stead buns."

"Bread is much tastier than stead buns."

"I don’t want the taste of the Alliance of All-Gods to corrupt my soul," A rejected flatly.

It’s just food! How did it get linked to souls?! Jiang Chen thought with a faint smile. "I don’t think it’s related."

"It is. Ji Hui is a pri example."

"No, that’s because his soul wasn’t strong enough. Your soul is strong; it definitely won’t be corrupted. Believe , this has little to do with the food."

"If a person’s will is strong, they won’t be swayed by power or desire."

A still shook her head. "What about your soul then?"

"To change my will, you’d have to pay more."

A scoffed, gave him a glare, and, annoyed, stopped talking to Jiang Chen.

Jiang Chen laughed heartily.
