The three of them spread out like the points of a triangle.

Chiyoshima Hitomi roared, "Jiang Chen, are you really prepared to betray All Gods? I’m giving you a chance. Join forces with , and let’s kill the Demon King first. This man is a Demon King serving the Evil God. Killing him will earn you military rits."

"I don’t trust you."

"So, you trust him?"

"No, I don’t trust him either."

Beckley laughed. "This little guy has the potential to beco a Demon King himself. We trust only ourselves. Little guy, co join our ranks."

"I’m not interested."

WHOOSH! In the blink of an eye, Jiang Chen vanished with a Flash in the Void.

As for why Jiang Chen left, his goal had been achieved: to have the two fight each other while he reaped the benefits, fisherman-style. If he were there, Demon King Beckley wouldn’t make a move. To make Beckley act, Jiang Chen had no choice but to leave.

Watching Jiang Chen depart, Chiyoshima Hitomi’s frown deepened.

Demon King Beckley smiled. "Your Hero has left. Now, face the Demon King’s wrath! Kill..." With that, Demon King Beckley leaped into action, launching a frenzied attack on Chiyoshima Hitomi.

「...」

Jiang Chen found a safe place and silently lit a cigarette. The battle no longer concerned him; all he wanted now was to rest. Leaning against a tree, he closed his eyes and soon fell sound asleep.

「Four hours later...」

Jiang Chen returned to the battlefield and surveyed the devastation. He noticed lingering blood. He laughed at the sight of it, recognizing it as Chiyoshima Hitomi’s.

Does this an Chiyoshima Hitomi is dead?

Following the direction of the bloodstains, Jiang Chen’s brow furrowed slightly.

Did Chiyoshima Hitomi actually flee? This woman wasn’t killed? It seems the Demon King isn’t all that great if he can’t even kill a Divine Envoy.

Following the trail of blood, Jiang Chen pursued Chiyoshima Hitomi. Sensing faint breathing, he headed west and found her hiding under a rock, her body covered in grievous wounds, so bone-deep. Her Light Armor was shattered, revealing flesh scored by deep gashes.

Chiyoshima Hitomi looked at Jiang Chen and said with a cold laugh, "Your plan worked. Now you can kill . Give a quick death, One Sword will do."

"You’re not a match for him either?"

"He’s very powerful, with imnse Offensive Power and Agility. I’m no match. Kill . I don’t want to end up on their dining table as food. Please, consider this my request."

Jiang Chen fell silent again.

Kill a Divine Envoy?

Jiang Chen was very tempted to act, but he hesitated, pondering if a Divine Envoy, once dead, might reappear. If not, there’d be no issue. But what if she did? The cri would be imnse. After all, Demon Kings respawn after death, essentially possessing infinite Resurrection scrolls, and Divine Envoys might have the sa ability to co back to life.

Looking into Chiyoshima Hitomi’s pleading eyes and spotting a pair of Guards rushing over, Jiang Chen made his move in an instant.

WHOOSH! Three Hundred Sword Auras cleanly dispatched the Guards.

Chiyoshima Hitomi looked at Jiang Chen in surprise. She had thought he wouldn’t get involved. If Jiang Chen had ignored her, she would have been captured by the Demon King and beco their food. The outco was all too clear. Yet, in the end, it was Jiang Chen who saved her.

Chiyoshima Hitomi asked in confusion, "Why save ?"

"You are a Divine Envoy. I wouldn’t want you to fall into their hands and be eaten alive. After all, I am also a Hero of the Alliance of All-Gods."

"You didn’t have to. This has nothing to do with you."

Who says it has nothing to do with ? If she were to die and then revive, what then? If he didn’t know, it would be one thing, but knowing ant he couldn’t just ignore it.

Unfortunately, the Demon King hadn’t managed to kill Chiyoshima Hitomi. He had only inflicted serious injuries on her.

As for why he saved her, Jiang Chen couldn’t quite explain it himself—perhaps because she was a woman, and an exceptionally beautiful one at that. His greatest concern remained.

Jiang Chen asked the most significant question, "If you die, will you be resurrected?"

Chiyoshima Hitomi nodded.

As expected. This woman could live again. Thankfully, he hadn’t acted, or else things would have turned dire. Killing a Divine Envoy—the cri would be unforgivable.

Chiyoshima Hitomi asked, "Do you have any dicine?"

"No. Don’t you have any?"

Chiyoshima Hitomi shook her head. As a Divine Envoy, she wouldn’t normally encounter danger, so she hadn’t brought any dicine with her. There were no Priests here either, so Chiyoshima Hitomi’s wounds couldn’t be treated.

Jiang Chen actually did have so, but it was in the warehouse.

What if he healed Chiyoshima Hitomi and she pursued him again? Jiang Chen knew the story of the Farr and the Snake well. So, Chiyoshima Hitomi being severely injured was the best outco. If she were badly hurt, she would have no Offensive Power, and thus no ability to kill him.

Jiang Chen took out a bottle of water from the warehouse and placed it in front of Chiyoshima Hitomi. Her right hand tremblingly reached for the water bottle.

CLANG! The water bottle fell to the ground.

She sighed. "I can’t even hold a water bottle steady."

"Let ."

Jiang Chen unscrewed the water bottle and held it to Chiyoshima Hitomi’s lips. She took a couple of sips. "Thank you. This matter ends here. I will not pursue your responsibility any further."

Jiang Chen laughed. "You should have said that earlier!"

"You killed over a hundred people. Those were our Sakura Alliance’s Heroes."

"They wanted to kill , so I killed them. That’s perfectly normal. As a Divine Envoy, you shouldn’t concern yourself with such things."

Chiyoshima Hitomi fell silent. She was a mber of the Sakura Alliance; how could she not care? The two simply had different positions.

Jiang Chen said, "Talking about this now is pointless. This isn’t a place to linger. They will likely return. We must find a safe place."

"I can’t move now. My leg was slashed to the bone. Only a Priest using Healing Art can nd it."

"No problem, I can carry you."

Chiyoshima Hitomi stared, montarily speechless.

Chiyoshima Hitomi did not refuse. Jiang Chen picked her up, preparing to leave. He had taken only two steps when he saw over a hundred Guards approaching. Among them was Demon King Beckley.

Demon King Beckley, scythe in hand, looked at Jiang Chen. "I really don’t understand. She wanted to kill you, yet you saved her. Are you insane?"

Jiang Chen smiled. "You’re right, I am indeed insane."

Demon King Beckley was at a loss for words. Could this kid have gone crazy?

Jiang Chen continued, "You can see she’s a beautiful woman. I can’t bear to see a beautiful woman in distress and not help."

"Then, we must fight."

At Demon King Beckley’s command, a hundred Guards with Great Swords charged toward Jiang Chen, while Three Hundred Sword Auras swirled around him. Within a hundred ters, any Guard was instantly killed.

Demon King Beckley watched Jiang Chen’s attack thod, frowning deeply. What kind of Phantom Class was this? How could he attack without using his hands? Could these Sword Auras belong to The Fallen? That wasn’t right either. The Fallen didn’t have such an attack thod.

SWISH! SWISH! SWISH! In an instant, over a hundred Guards lay dead at Jiang Chen’s feet; none could withstand his Sword Qi Attack.

Facing Jiang Chen’s assault, Demon King Beckley hesitated. He dared not make a move. Even he couldn’t withstand the Three Hundred Sword Auras and could only watch Jiang Chen leave. Jiang Chen also had no desire to engage with Demon King Beckley. Fighting now would be pointless.
