"This guy is surely ssed up..." Wang Linchi muttered.
The person who had planned trumped-up charges against Emperor Jing was, naturally, one of his mory bodies. He had been shocked to learn the training expenses for the Death Warriors amounted to a thousand taels.
I had originally planned to follow the original plot, but now, forget it; I’ll just go through the motions, Wang Linchi thought, considering the man completely flawed.
If it weren’t for his usefulness to Wang Linchi, he would have dissolved him in water long ago.
Forget it; anyway, he can’t make any big waves,
Everyone around the target was one of Wang Linchi’s n. If the target could still turn the tables, it would only indicate that he possessed not only great abilities but also great luck.
On the way back, Wang Linchi inspected the Jade Energy flowing within his Spirit Bone, Spirit Vein, and Spirit Law. It was gradually integrating with his Wenqi, transforming it into an entirely new power.
The Jade Energy was, of course, the Spiritual Treasure Jade Seal he had obtained earlier.
He had thought that with his own skeletal laws, he could rge at least two such items, but a single Jade Seal was enough to saturate his skeletal laws.
The Jade Seal of Dajing likely wasn’t classified within the Spiritual Treasure ranks but belonged to a separate, highest tier of quality.
Most likely, it was unique; after he fused with it, it ceased to exist.
Now, this Jade Energy was just one final step away from completely rging with his Wenqi.
This caused his body, already akin to the Colorful Stone, to exude a brand-new radiance.
This new energy is sowhat peculiar, Wang Linchi mused. It feels like a higher level of Wenqi.
Wang Linchi inevitably thought about the ranks above Jinshi for a Spirit Master. Perhaps such higher levels existed, but due to environntal reasons, that tier had been weakened or lost.
As soon as the final step was completed, before Wang Linchi had a chance to rejoice, he detected a trace of subtle black energy erging from the dissolved Jade Seal; surprisingly, it was burrowing into his Soul.
It moved exceedingly fast. Only after being intercepted by his Soul Shield and Heart Light Shield was it finally restrained by his soul’s force field.
It’s sowhat like a curse... wait, this is a Devil? Wang Linchi recognized its origin in an instant.
This made him excited.
It’s actually a Devil!
I thought they had all perished. I didn’t expect to find one within the Jade Seal! Wang Linchi quickly safeguarded it. If this unique specin died, it would be gone for good.
Wait a second... the early deaths of Dajing’s many emperors... could it be the Devil’s doing? Wang Linchi recalled that, aside from the Founding Emperor, the other emperors of Dajing had not lived long.
The greater the achievents, the shorter the life?
Wang Linchi thought of the two previous Spirit Masters of Dajing who had achieved great successes; their deaths were inextricably linked to the deaths of the contemporary emperors.
Those periods had been critical junctures, having just navigated reforms, with steady developnt being the next requirent. However, the deaths of those two Emperor Jings led to unstable developnt. Conservative factions revived, and what was hailed as a resurgence felt more like a brief extension of life for the dynasty.
Interesting, Wang Linchi thought. Various pieces of data in his mind connected, forming a line. Factoring in the circumstances of the previous Emperor Jing, he arrived at a terrible conclusion.
The more capable and diligent an emperor who dedicated himself to Dajing’s developnt, the greater the influence of the Devil within the Jade Seal on them, leading to a shorter lifespan.
This thing had no effect on Wang Linchi whatsoever. He had checked; besides certain activation conditions, there was also a bloodline requirent.
Apart from the Dajing Royal Family, others, even if they beca emperor, would not be affected by the curse.
So, this thing was most likely suppressed and left by the Founding Emperor as a tool for his descendants. However, the Devil inside isn’t so easily utilized. Given that Dajing’s Founding Emperor used bloodline as the condition for its use, it was inevitable that the curse would target his descendants through this very bloodline.
But speaking of which, was this Devil originally without sentience, or has it beco witless after such a long ti?
Upon further inspection using his power of thought, Wang Linchi found that this Devil entity was sowhat like a parasite.
If it has no sentience, then what’s the deal with the curse? It can’t just be a byproduct of its parasitic nature, can it? Wang Linchi found it peculiar.
The Devil was a parasite; Wang Linchi knew this. But the premise of parasitism was that it should be inside a host’s body, not sealed within the Jade Seal.
Furthermore, what exactly was the power of the Jade Seal? Both the thod of use and the true power of the Jade Seal had long been lost. It was clear that for many generations, the Emperor Jings had rely used the Jade Seal as a stamp.
It must be that a certain Emperor Jing died too quickly, without enough ti to pass down the knowledge.
After temporarily sealing the Devil away, Wang Linchi began to further analyze his upgraded Wenqi.
Is the Jade Seal related to Divinity?
At this point, his Wenqi had undergone earth-shattering changes.
Although it didn’t lean towards the Divine Power typical of a Demon God System, it seed to combine aspects of Divine Power with Wenqi, his own Soul Resemblance, and his data-based system, creating an ability that Wang Linchi found sowhat odd.
Can I influence the grand tide of events by affecting the luck of the masses through Wenqi?
Wang Linchi knew that luck was divided into three types: personal luck, collective luck, and world luck.
Personal luck was his own fortune. Collective luck was akin to national fortune—though Dajing lacked such a system, the faith and incense of the Demon God System were a variant of collective luck, as were the fa and recognition Wang Linchi sought. World luck was the Destiny embodied by a Son of Destiny. Although Wang Linchi had previously obtained the ’protagonist’s luck,’ after Refining it, this Destiny had transford into his personal luck.
Should I call it Luck... no, that doesn’t sound quite right, Wang Linchi thought, having already completed the first stage of its developnt.
This energy born from collective luck... perhaps I should call it... Mana?
Wang Linchi felt that ’Wenqi’ didn’t quite suit him anymore, and ’Luck’ wasn’t fitting either. So, he decided to call it Mana.
Additionally, there’s a Domain, though it can’t be activated yet. It requires further integration with Divine Power, Wang Linchi realized as he discovered more aspects of this new system.
Interesting. This must be an effect stemming from the Passive Skills derived from my Cultivation Technique.
After I achieve godhood, my Mana will be able to complent Divine Power, perhaps even fuse with it entirely.
In that case, I can na this system the ’History of Ti.’
Wang Linchi mused on it. Since he had already ’borrowed’ from the Saint Master, taking the na ’History of Ti’ wouldn’t be an issue either.
Give civilization to the ages, grant life to ti.
Then the na of the first stage shall be ’Ages.’
The first stage of the ’History of Ti’ was thus defined by Wang Linchi as ’Ages.’ Following this, he began to extract and reprocess a large volu of his recorded data.
The first stage, ’Ages,’ would involve him becoming a nascent world, which would then progress to ’Civilization.’
As for ’Ti’ and ’Life,’ Wang Linchi only had a rough idea of their content.
In that case, will my Book of Records also need to be renad to ’History of Ti’?
Wang Linchi considered this. There was no need to change it for now. Given the current abilities of the Book of Records, did it even deserve the na ’Ages’? How could it be called ’Ages’ if it couldn’t even alter history?
If he were to ’die’ and beco a god, thereby gaining control over life and death, while he might not be able to change history wholesale, modifying certain individuals’ life stories, their deaths, and so on, would still be achievable.
I can only take this slowly.
Wang Linchi quickly began to further improve and modify his Mana to better suit himself.
Although it had originally developed according to his inherent system, there were aspects Wang Linchi was not satisfied with.
The most important point was its excessive binding to Divinity; Wang Linchi needed to unbind it.
He couldn’t possibly persist with the divine path, let alone lead a group of burdenso followers. Therefore, he wouldn’t take the issue of faith and incense too seriously.
As for cultivating a civilization, his mory bodies would suffice. When the ti ca, they could be transford into his own Family.
The ability of the Book of Records, when evolved to its final stage, could allow him to form an army by himself. In fact, to take it to an extre, he could beco an entire civilization by himself, because as long as he had enough Mana, Wang Linchi could manifest various mory bodies.
Spiritual power, on the other hand, had now beco a component of Mana. It had reverted to being a simple attribute rather than a form of energy as it was before.
Using spiritual power directly was too wasteful and not as efficient as Mana. In terms of cost and quality, Mana was also superior.
However, it was still sowhat unbalanced. If his overall constitution was rated as a 10, then his Spirit was at 6, his Physique at 3, and his Mana only at 1.
The best ratio moving forward would be 1:1:1.
Wang Linchi naturally wouldn’t reduce his Spirit; he would only enhance his Physique and Mana to match it.
Fortunately, now that he had created the ’History of Ti,’ balancing this ratio was rely a matter of ti or establishing a corresponding cultivation system. As for relying on fortuitous encounters, that wouldn’t suffice; only a complete system would provide the qualifications for such progress.
