SCREECH~ MOOOAN~~~
The shrill sound echoed throughout the entire large-scale Secret Realm. Stimulated by this sound, all the Erroneous Sins that had crashed during the day gradually recovered their functions.
The Shadow of Gluttony felt a profound weariness with life. This morning, Wang Linchi, who had been missing for three days, found him, gave him a gaphone, and announced that his morning call duty could officially begin. At first, he didn’t pay it much mind, but the commotion was truly imnse. Moreover, he had felt sothing strange about himself these past two days, as if Wang Linchi had implanted sothing in him. Unfortunately, he was afraid to ask, but he could confirm it was so sort of control chanism.
Three days... I wonder what he’s been up to. What truly unsettled him wasn’t the job he had been assigned or the control chanism in his body, but that Wang Linchi was preparing to make a move on this large-scale Secret Realm. He had so idea of just how vast a large-scale Secret Realm could be. If such a colossal Secret Realm were directly annihilated, they would undoubtedly be relentlessly pursued by the Ga System. Until now, their actions had been minor skirmishes at best, but this was tantamount to severing an arm from the Ga System. According to his intelligence, the Ga System currently had only thirteen large-scale Secret Realms under its command. If one was lost, it wouldn’t be as simple as Wang Linchi claid; even his aggro value as an accomplice would soar to an extrely high level.
Forget it. If any problems arise, I’ll just flee at the first opportunity.
The Shadow of Gluttony had no faith in Wang Linchi. This plan seed insane. Even if Wang Linchi could deal with the entire large-scale Secret Realm, he would surely suffer imnse losses. When the ti ca to face the Ga System, would he even have any strength left to resist?
Just as he was pondering this, all the Erroneous Sins fully reactivated due to his gaphone. This was far more stimulating than at night. There were so restrictions at night, but now, during the day, the restrictions targeting the Erroneous Sins hadn’t activated, instantly plunging the entire Secret Realm into pandemonium.
Anyway, I’m idle, and he’s not around. Might as well hunt so Players for food.
Such an idea suddenly surfaced in the Shadow of Gluttony’s mind. Just as he was about to move, a sudden jolt went through him.
"What the hell?! This thing can affect my humanity and self!!!" After so many days of beatings and torture, the Shadow of Gluttony had long since developed a disposition to avoid trouble whenever possible, lest Wang Linchi maliciously make things difficult for him. He wouldn’t starve if he didn’t eat Players, so he had simply given it up. Therefore, when this thought arose, his suspicion imdiately fell upon the gaphone.
What on earth is he trying to do... For a mont, the Shadow of Gluttony couldn’t figure out what benefit this would bring Wang Linchi. Inciting all the Erroneous Sins to wreak havoc... but no matter how chaotic the Secret Realm beca, Wang Linchi couldn’t devour all the Erroneous Sins in one go. His own capacity was limited. The more he thought about it, the more uneasy he beca.
This won’t do. I have to leave this Secret Realm as soon as possible. Even if it ans facing the Ga System, I...
Just as the Shadow of Gluttony was about to use a trump card he had obtained from the asylum to forcibly exit the ga’s Secret Realm, he saw massive patterns appearing in the sky. Naturally, there was no real sky within the Secret Realm; the so-called sky was actually the Barrier of the Secret Realm. Heaven, earth, and all four directions were enveloped by this Barrier of the Secret Realm. In the Shadow of Gluttony’s eyes, these so-called patterns looked more like cracks.
"He... he... he’s really planning to completely destroy this large-scale Secret Realm!!!" The Shadow of Gluttony was terrified by this scene.
Eat, eat, eat! Eating cos first! We’re all going to die anyway, so why bother with anything else!
This thought surfaced in his mind again. By the ti the Shadow of Gluttony ca to his senses, he discovered he had already started moving. If he hadn’t snapped out of it quickly, he might have instinctively begun hunting Players to consu. This was definitely a huge trap. He understood that Wang Linchi wouldn’t do anything aningless; this was undoubtedly part of his plan. Forcibly suppressing the distracting thoughts in his mind, he even disregarded Wang Linchi’s instructions, desperately trying to get away from the piercing sound.
After running for about two minutes, he suddenly realized his foolishness. Where could he run to within the Secret Realm? The priority was to leave the Secret Realm as soon as possible. Just as he was about to make his move, he noticed that cracks had silently appeared on the ground at so unknown point. These cracks, like the patterns in the sky, appeared very regular and orderly, not haphazard, but rather as if intentionally ford.
But this was no ti for such considerations. His first instinct was to try and leave the Secret Realm. After several attempts, he found he was still trapped inside.
"It’s over. I’m sealed in." A look of despair crossed the Shadow of Gluttony’s face. It wasn’t that his attempts hadn’t worked; they had been blocked. Evidently, Wang Linchi had altered the Barrier of the Secret Realm in so way, which was why he couldn’t leave.
No, I have to save myself! If he goes into a feeding frenzy, there’s no way he’ll spare . The Shadow of Gluttony knew Wang Linchi well. He was typically capricious, and at a ti like this, he would undoubtedly be even more brutal. Various thoughts swirled in his mind, yet none offered a viable thod of self-rescue.
As for rallying all the Erroneous Sins to resist Wang Linchi, setting aside whether there was enough ti, the other Erroneous Sins possessed self-awareness and would never believe his side of the story. Before witnessing Wang Linchi’s terror firsthand, how could his other kin possibly believe that a human could be so powerful—not only able to completely obliterate them by consuming them but also possessing power comparable to their own? It was simply too absurd. If it weren’t for his own personal experience, he wouldn’t have believed it either.
Hurry, it’ll be too late if I don’t eat soon! The inciting voice echoed in his mind again. This ti, he was further away, and coupled with his wariness, it didn’t affect him as severely. Though he lost his composure for an instant, he recovered in a flash.
He saw nurous Erroneous Sins, incited by the voice, rampaging and killing indiscriminately on the streets. They were even losing their sense of self to so extent, so rallying them was impossible. If he tried to stop his kin from feeding, once they were blood-crazed, they would likely attack him directly. That would be a huge loss for him. If they were to get entangled, escaping would be out of the question, let alone...
"Wait, I understand now!!!" The Shadow of Gluttony instantly understood Wang Linchi’s plan. There were so many Erroneous Sins; consuming them all at once was certainly not easy. But if all the Erroneous Sins were entangled together, Wang Linchi could just sweep them all up in one go.
Realizing this, he felt sowhat fortunate. Luckily, he hadn’t been bewitched. Otherwise, if he had fallen into that trap, Wang Linchi probably wouldn’t rescue him; he would just devour him whole.
I’ve practically beco an expert on this... The Shadow of Gluttony couldn’t help but feel a little bitter. The only choice now was to flee, to try and reach places with fewer of his kin to avoid losing control.
However, he hadn’t taken more than two steps when he sensed the ground shaking violently, as if sothing was about to break free from beneath it. Yet, he didn’t have ti to look at the ground because the entire sky was also shaking. Those patterns detached from the sky, forming what looked like a massive, woven net upon closer inspection.
At this point, the Shadow of Gluttony was already numb, hiding in a corner with absolutely no thought of resisting.
When the great net constricted, all the Erroneous Sins incited by the sound were swept away. This action caused all the Erroneous Sins to beco even more deeply entangled, and they vaguely showed signs of rging into one. The Shadow of Gluttony hadn’t been incited, so he beca a fish that slipped through the net. He felt a little fortunate at this. This massive net only captured the incited Erroneous Sins, leaving Players, NPCs, and even buildings completely unaffected.
Wait, it seems like there’s a problem with the Barrier of the Secret Realm! The Shadow of Gluttony suddenly realized sothing: the patterns on the sky and ground weren’t healing; instead, they were trembling precariously.
This... This isn’t about to collapse, is it?
The Shadow of Gluttony grew increasingly aghast. He had initially thought Wang Linchi’s targets were his own kind. But now, how had even the Barrier of the Secret Realm started malfunctioning? Whether the large-scale Secret Realm itself had problems wasn’t his concern. However, if the Barrier of the Secret Realm failed, the Ga System’s power would infiltrate, and then he would be in for more trouble than he could handle. Wang Linchi was strong enough to act recklessly without fearing the Ga System, but he wasn’t.
"Boss! Have you forgotten about , your most loyal little brother?! Don’t leave behind!!!" At this mont, the Shadow of Gluttony could no longer care about the future; he would go wherever he could survive the longest.
