The group of people hesitated, seemingly frightened by sothing.
Wang Linchi entered and understood it was because of the front desk.
"Hello, I’d like to check in." Wang Linchi wasn’t a bit put off by the receptionist, who looked as if she had been in a car accident. Her face was mostly a bloody ss, and the visible remainder was covered in various sores, still oozing pus—a truly disgusting sight.
"Fill in this registration form." Her voice had a high, grating quality, like fingernails scratching a blackboard.
From beneath the human skin, an insectoid appendage erged and placed a registration form on the counter.
At that mont, the scalps of the remaining nine people tingled, their faces ashen.
They had faced Abyssal Demons before, but this was a completely different kind of terror.
When encountering Abyssal Demons, they could fight and kill them directly. However, this creature, an Erroneous Sin, couldn’t be killed by simple attacks.
[Evil Demon·Front Desk of Dark Night Inn, Level: ???]
[Tip: Evil Demons are different from Abyssal Demons. They cannot be directly killed but can only be suppressed with another demon possessing the opposite attribute. Players must explore the killing chanics to suppress them as soon as possible.]
More importantly, it had no health bar, and the tip explicitly stated it couldn’t be killed directly, only suppressed.
Wang Linchi, his expression unchanged, accepted the registration form. It was covered in nurous bloodstains, and up close, he could clearly sll the tallic tang of blood.
However, he paid it no mind, picked up the pen from the counter, and began to write.
He noticed the pen had only a tiny amount of ink left.
This ink is probably just enough for one person to fill out the registration form. Wang Linchi quickly assessed the ink level.
This implied that if the remaining eight people couldn’t devise a solution, they would likely be flayed alive by the receptionist for being unable to complete the form.
Of course, this was rely Wang Linchi’s speculation; it was also possible that the person registering would trigger a killing rule. He wasn’t invincible, after all.
With a few quick strokes, Wang Linchi filled out the registration form, the ink in the pen dwindling to a dangerously low level, and handed it to the receptionist.
"Registered." As Wang Linchi handed over the form, he used his Thought Field and Soul Shadow·Book of Records to appraise her.
[Error-Series Spirit Seed·Human Pupa Insect (Excellent Level)]
"Room 401, here’s your room card." The receptionist took Wang Linchi’s registration form with an insectoid appendage and, after a mont that seed like rejection, spat out a room card.
The room card was coated in a layer of slimy liquid, looking utterly revolting.
Wang Linchi unhesitatingly picked up the room card from the counter. With a casual wipe and a flick, the liquid was entirely flung to the floor, not even a speck remaining on his hand.
His Heart Light Shield and Soul Shield, combined with a trivial little trick, easily took care of this minor problem.
That liquid was a pheromone-like marker. Once tainted, it was impossible to wash off. This pheromone could likely only be detected by this Human Pupa Insect, and anyone marked by it would beco its prey.
With that maneuver, Wang Linchi had not only gotten rid of the sli but had also flung away the pheromones.
This was practically a deathtrap. One couldn’t avoid touching the room card, and even if it were wrapped in sothing, it would be impossible to guarantee that not a single trace of the pheromone would transfer.
The young man from before, seeing Wang Linchi obtain the room card so easily, rushed forward imdiately, calling out, "I want to check in."
Though terrified, he forced himself to remain calm to avoid any issues.
The Human Pupa Insect followed the previous procedure, handing him a registration form. The young man began to fill it out diligently.
However, when he was halfway through, sothing unexpected happened.
"Th-this pen... it’s out of ink!" The young man first glanced around and, finding no other pens, spoke with a quavering voice.
These words imdiately triggered a reaction from the Human Pupa Insect. The human skin began to writhe continuously, as if the appendages beneath the epidermis were agitated.
"You can use your own blood," the Human Pupa Insect’s voice grew even sharper, laced with a malice so thick it was almost tangible.
The young man froze, terrified out of his wits.
The others were also on the verge of collapse. This was too horrifying.
"I... I... I..." the young man stamred three tis, unable to form a complete sentence.
"You’re not thinking of giving up on checking in, are you?" The Human Pupa Insect grew increasingly agitated, seemingly preparing to strike.
"It’s you! It must be you! How could you use up all the ink in the pen?!" Overco by terror, the young man, his composure shattered, roared at Wang Linchi, who was waiting for the elevator.
Wang Linchi glanced back, sowhat puzzled. "Using a bit of blood isn’t going to kill you. Are you that reluctant?"
However, the hysterical teenager, his mind already incapable of rational thought or analysis, completely ignored Wang Linchi.
With that, he lunged at Wang Linchi, apparently intending to strike him.
But before he could take two steps, an appendage extended from beneath the Human Pupa Insect’s skin, instantly piercing the teenager’s skull. Then, it began to suck, much like drinking bubble tea. Before the horrified eyes of the remaining eight people, all that was left of the teenager was a withered husk of skin.
They could even witness the entire grueso process of flesh, blood, and bone being drawn through the appendage and absorbed by the Human Pupa Insect.
Afterward, the Human Pupa Insect slowly retracted its appendage and beca still again, rely stating, "Visitors are prohibited from attacking guests."
Then, it reverted to the indifferent state it had been in when they first arrived, ignoring them completely.
"His ntal fortitude is truly lacking. No wonder he was matched with a Level 1 novice account like mine," Wang Linchi muttered to himself as he entered the elevator.
If his ntal fortitude had been even slightly better, he wouldn’t have lashed out at Wang Linchi in such a situation. He should have just obediently used his own blood to complete the registration form. He just had to cause trouble. In this world where the ga has rged with reality, things are no longer so easy.
The teenager was likely not truly dead; he would probably be revived by the Ga System. However, the Chaos rules affecting him would intensify, and he would also lose one attribute point.
These attributes naturally referred to the three primary ones: Root Bone, Spiritual Power, and Comprehension. These were hard-earned, starting with three points at character creation and an additional point per level. Losing them was easy, but regaining them was not so simple.
After entering the elevator, Wang Linchi imdiately pressed the button for the fourth floor.
"Elevator ascending. Please be careful!" a gloomy voice sounded.
Wang Linchi turned to look and saw a skeleton reflected behind him.
Is this a bone-reflecting mirror? Wang Linchi reached out; the skeleton reflected on the elevator’s protective panel mirrored his movents.
Seeing this, he paused for a mont, then perford a complete set of highly difficult, almost inhuman movents from the Soul Forging thod.
Then, he heard the sound of bones cracking.
The skeleton on the protective panel couldn’t withstand it; its waist bones shattered.
After all, it was a Mountain Copper Level technique used for body tempering. Although Wang Linchi often used Hang Up, it didn’t an he didn’t train; using Hang Up also constituted training.
Therefore, both his bone strength and toughness were extrely formidable.
The reflected skeleton, however, clearly had the bone structure of an ordinary person. Attempting to follow Wang Linchi’s complete set of movents, it was no surprise that it was destroyed.
After Wang Linchi had ’played’ the skeleton to destruction, the elevator arrived at the fourth floor.
It wasn’t just a coincidence. If one couldn’t get rid of it, the elevator would ascend endlessly, and eventually, this skeleton would kill you according to so rule.
"Keep practicing. I’ll co check later. If you don’t asure up, I’ll eat you," Wang Linchi said, licking his lips.
Wang Linchi stepped out of the elevator. The fourth-floor corridor was very dim. He glanced at the ergency exit not far away; if he had taken the stairs, he would have erged from there.
There was also an Erroneous Sin by the stairs, though its intensity was slightly less than the one in the elevator.
The one in the elevator was an Excellent Level Living Soul Species, while the one by the stairs, much like the Human Pupa Insect at the front desk, was also an Excellent Level Living Soul Species.
Therefore, don’t assu taking the stairs would be safe.
He had taken the elevator primarily because it was convenient, saving him from climbing four floors. He hadn’t expected to encounter such a bizarre Erroneous Sin that required him to ’exercise’ just to proceed.
Unfortunately, with his current Physique, this level of ’exercise’ was no longer beneficial to him. He could only use the situation to tornt this Erroneous Sin.
"401, 401..." Wang Linchi muttered under his breath, checking the room numbers as he walked.
One is next to 409, the other next to 402. Unless one is blind, it’s obvious that the 401 next to 402 is the correct one, Wang Linchi mused. After all, rooms 401, 402, and 403 were grouped together, leading up to 409.
Therefore, Wang Linchi unhesitatingly pushed open the door of the Room 401 located next to Room 409.
He was here to forage, not to work for the Ga System. If the Ga System hadn’t monopolized Erroneous Sins, he wouldn’t have even entered this instance dungeon.
After he entered, all the numbers reversed: 409 beca 402, 408 beca 403, and the final 401 beca 410.
