Chapter 256: Intruders!
“If it’s such a big matter, why haven’t you reported it to the main city of Pavas?”
Locke glared at the man with sharp eyes and asked in a stern voice.
There was such an obvious loophole in the man’s words. It was clear that the man held other intentions. His crashing into Locke’s room was no coincidence.
Seemingly frightened by Locke’s imposing manner, the man explained with a panicked expression, “The main city of Pavas didn’t respond even after several attempts to contact them from our city lord. We have no choice but to take this matter into our own hands.”
‘Pavas didn’t respond!?’
Locke and Hathaway were stunned for a mont.

At the sa ti, a screen appeared in Locke’s line of sight.

Locke derided him coldly in his heart, and then he shouted, “Divine Dragon!”

Locke snorted coldly and slowly walked up to the man. He spat, “Speak, who ordered you to assassinate ? !”
Locke did not summon his Divine Dragon earlier. He had rely unleashed a dragon roar, and it was a suppressed version of the ability. After all, had he unleashed its full power, the man would have already perished.
Locke spared his life to interrogate him.
He had not done anything in Mountain City yet. How could he be assassinated.
‘Could it be an opponent from the past?’
‘But all my enemies from the past are gone. How could they take revenge on ?’
“You monster, I won’t tell you even if I die!”
The man gritted his teeth and struggled to say sothing. Then, his head tilted and he lost his breath.

Locke imdiately went forward to inspect the man, only to realize that the man had already bit his tongue and committed suicide.
‘A Death Warrior, huh?’
Only Death Warriors would be fearless in the face of death.
Of course, there were also so people who had a firm will to defend a certain person or an important object. Those people would they be fearless in the face of death.

‘Has my appearance in Mountain City threatened soone?’ Locke fell into deep thought.

“Divine Dragon!”
Locke shouted softly.
“Roar!”
A loud dragon roar rang out.
Then, a faint holy light appeared on the surface of Locke’s skin.
Streams of clear air erged from his body and condensed into the outline of a giant dragon that was hundreds of ters tall.
It had wings that blotted out the sun and four limbs that were as thick as heavenly pillars. The eyes of the dragon’s head were even more soul-stirring.
“Whoosh~”
The projection spread its wings and set off a fierce hurricane that raged in the surrounding space. The clear air condensed and turned into a dragon with flesh and blood!
“Fly high into the sky!”
Locke grabbed Hathaway’s hand and leaped onto the head of the Divine Dragon.
“Roar!”
The Divine Dragon responded with a low roar.
Then, it flapped its wings and flew towards the starry night sky.

“GROWL!”
“Boom! Boom! Boom! …”
On the way, Locke saw many battle beasts wantonly destroying Mountain City, and the sound of explosions could be heard.
Just a few hours ago, Mountain City was unbelievably peaceful, but in the next mont, many explosions rocked the city, lighting up the dark night sky and making the city as bright as day.

Locke and Hathaway imdiately looked down and spotted soone who seed to be part of the city guards flying towards them on his Battle Beast.
“Intruders!?”
“US! ?”
Locke and Hathaway were stunned.
When did they beco intruders?
Could it be that soone had frad them?
However, they had only been in the mountain city for a re two hours.
Even if soone wanted to fra them, this was way too abrupt.
However, since they had been frad, Locke and Hathaway could understand why the guard from earlier had tried to assassinate them.
