William used his shield to block the bullets that were fired. Looking in the direction the bullets ca from, he saw her—Peggy Carter. "My, my, Peggy, you look so similar to the ti we first t. A military uniform and gorgeous red lips—are you perhaps trying to make kiss you?"
"William, today you will die." Peggy Carter stepped out and looked at William with hate.
"That's cruel. What about our happy life together that we always dread of? It's very ruthless, you know, breaking soone's heart." William shook his head.
"I don't have a happy life with you. Today, either you will die, or I will die, since I will not let you go," Peggy Carter said coldly.
William's smile was calm yet unsettling. "Do you really hate so much, Peggy? If so, Peggy, you should know—hatred and love aren't the most potent of emotions, each the flip side of the sa coin? Both linger, etched deep within the heart, impossible to erase. Tell , even if you succeed in killing today, do you truly believe you could banish every mory of ? Would I not haunt your thoughts still, refusing to be forgotten?"
"I..." There were complicated emotions in Peggy Carter's eyes. "You don't think I can do so. I just need to kill you."
"It's not who is saying these things. Your hand holding the gun is trembling," William said with a smile.
"Stop talking," Peggy called.
Steve looked at the back of William. About a hundred Hydra soldiers were coming over, and his face changed. "This direction that they are coming from—those soldiers—what happened to them?"
"Oh, you an those prisoners that you let go? Well, they are dead, and all because of you. Now you can go and chat it out between yourselves in hell." William laughed.
"What are you talking about, you bastard?" Steve was unable to suppress his anger, with a hint of hatred in his eyes.
William spread his hands wide, a smug grin tugging at the corners of his lips. "Steve, don't bla for what happened—bla yourself. Why did you let them go? If it weren't for your misguided heroics, they'd still be alive. Their blood is on your hands, Captain. You tried to play the hero, but you failed to think it through. We have superior firepower, stronger unity, and the advantage of fighting on our ho turf. What did you expect? You should've realized this wasn't a battle you could win with good intentions alone."
"Ah!" Steve yelled. "Release Bucky right now!"
"You said to release him? I'm in a bad mood right now, so I will release him completely." William's expression was cold, and he pulled the trigger directly.
Bang!
The bullet penetrated the heart of Bucky Barnes. His body shook, his eyes widened, and he slowly lost his spirit. The future Winter Soldier was just hanged up, and then he was no more... or was he?
"Ah! Ah!" Steve roared a few tis in succession. "I will kill you!" He roared and rushed towards the tank, took a leap, and tried slamming William from the air with a shield.
"Good thinking." William raised his shield and smashed it against Steve's shield.
CLANK! BOOM!
A layer of visible sonic airflow spread around, and everyone in the field blocked their ears in pain.
During the violent shaking of the tank, William and Steve flew over ten ters simultaneously and fell heavily on the ground, smashing the ground into a pit.
"Haha, haha." William stood up with a smile. "It's exciting."
Hydra soldiers raised their guns one after another, and William made a hand gesture. "It's not ti for you to attack."
"William." Steve stood up and rushed towards William again.
William greeted him in front and called out, "Steve!" He followed him, thinking it would be fun calling the others' nas while fighting, like those ani like DBZ or JoJo ani do.
Boom!
The shields of the two sides collided, and their feet sank deeply into the mud under the impact.
William suddenly moved his fist towards Steve, and Steve also moved his fist at the sa ti.
Bam! Bam!
William was punched in the left face, and Steve was punched in the right face.
However, neither could overpower the other. They collided with each other—fist to fist, kick to kick, and shield to shield. In a short ti, no winner appeared. This didn't an that Steve was winning; it was just that William was only playing with Steve, which is why he didn't stop him. When William had enough, Steve was trying to hit his face, but before he could, William hit him in the face multiple tis in a second. Before Steve had a chance to react, he was kicked in the gut, flying out and colliding with the ground, rolling in pain.
"Ah! Ah!" Steve clutched his mouth in pain, trembling on the ground.
"Steve!" Peggy Carter ran to Steve. "Are you okay?"
"I'm okay," Steve stood up slowly.
Peggy looked at William coldly. "Why? Why must you kill everyone? Aren't you satisfied? Haven't you had enough?"
"Peggy," William shook his head. "You still don't understand. There is no justice in this world. Justice is just sothing the winner decides. Besides, this is war. If you were , you would also kill all those who opposed you."
"William, I must kill you today," Steve called.
"You are boring , Steve, saying the sa thing over and over."
"Don't even think of killing , because you'll die here! Guys, attack, but don't hurt the woman." William gave instructions to the Hydra soldiers.
Bang! Bang!
The blue beams of energy flew toward Steve, and Steve ran quickly, blocking with the shield in his hand.
William walked toward Peggy. Peggy pointed her gun at William. "Don't co over."
"If you really want to shoot, then shoot. I promise I won't stop, hide, or avoid." While he was thinking, 'Just kidding. Even if I were hit, I wouldn't die, but it would hurt, so I'd rather not get shot.'
Peggy's hands were shaking. "You fucker, don't co over."
"Allow Steve to leave here." Peggy's gun no longer pointed at William but at her own head. "You don't want to die, right? So I will stay, and you will let Steve go."
William stopped. "You really are a disobedient woman. If you are dead, do you think I can't bear it? But then again, you are my biggest booty in this world. Rember, you will receive your punishnt, and your punishnt is inevitable."
"You..." Peggy's eyes flashed with anger. Then she looked at Steve and said, "Steve, just go. Get out of here!"
The injured Steve used the shield to avoid the beams and said, "I can't leave you here, and I still haven't avenged Bucky. Even if I die today, I will fight him."
"Steve, if you die here, you can't do anything. There is hope as long as you are alive. Hurry up!" Peggy scread.
There was a hint of struggle in Steve's eyes. He had been injected with the serum, and his brain had developed to the limit of human beings. He should know what should be done and what should not be done.
"Fuck!" Steve scread. He ran towards the jungle, increasing his speed. After hitting two Hydra soldiers, he said, "William, I will definitely co back."
