In the attic of Honey Deer Café, two people huddled in the darkness.
"How's it going? When will Li Xuan arrive?" A Yun asked, his voice coming out hoarse.
Bai Lengning irritably put down her phone, giving A Yun a disgusted look. If she had known A Yun would be so useless, she wouldn't have followed him. He was terrified of zombies and didn't dare go out to search for food even when there were so few zombies outside.
"He said he won't deliver."
A Yun grew anxious, "How can he not deliver? We're coworkers after all! Even if he won't deliver to , he should deliver to you!"
Both were in terrible condition now, having gone three days and three nights without food. Their bodies were weak, stomachs aching faintly, faces slightly pale, lips dry and cracked.
A Yun's constitution was better than Bai Lengning's, so he could still hold on, but Bai Lengning was nearing her limit—dizzy and lightheaded, almost without strength to speak.

"Alright! I'll go find food for you, Lengning. Just wait here for !"
With that, A Yun slowly crawled out of the attic, carefully making his way down to the first floor.
The café's first floor was already in complete disarray—shattered glass everywhere, along with plenty of filthy black blood.
A Yun peeked out, scanning the area. Finding no zombies, he breathed a sigh of relief.
"Let see, where might there be food."
"Internet café! There's definitely food inside!"
A Yun first scouted the surroundings. When the zombies wandering the street moved farther away, he seized the mont and used his last bit of strength to dash toward the internet café.

Zombies growled, spotting A Yun.
A Yun's body trembled twice as he quickened his pace, desperately charging into the internet café.
He prayed silently that there wouldn't be any zombies inside, or he'd be done for!
There really were no zombies!
A Yun was ecstatic. He hurried to the internet café's front counter, grabbed a chicken leg, tore open the packaging, and frantically stuffed it into his mouth.
Thump thump thump~
Suddenly, footsteps sounded.
"Boss, there's a kid. He's stealing our food."
"Grab him! Quite bold, daring to eat food we've claid."
Then A Yun was restrained by several people. One of them pried open A Yun's mouth, dug out the half-chewed chicken leg, and without any disgust, put it in his own mouth.
"Ahhh, let go." A Yun made muffled pleading sounds.
"Boss, what should we do? Kill him?"
"Don't kill him yet. Cut his arm a couple tis, make him run in another direction to lure away zombies."
A Yun struggled violently, "No no! I'll do anything! Please don't kill !"
Scar looked down at A Yun, sneering, "What will you trade for your life?"
A Yun's mind raced. What could he trade?
Bai Lengning? No! She was his goddess!
He couldn't let these beasts defile his goddess!
So, sorry Li Xuan—you didn't save us first, that's why I'm betraying you. Don't bla !
'Lengning! I can't bring you food, but I'll take the danger away!'
"I know soone who has food at his place! I can take you there! I rember his passcode!" A Yun said.
He didn't know how much food Li Xuan had at ho—he just wanted to lead these people to Li Xuan's place to prevent them from discovering Bai Lengning hiding in the café!
Scar held a dagger in one hand, tapping it against A Yun's face, "How do you know his passcode?"
"His door was bought from my uncle's shop! I know how to change the passcode without needing fingerprints or the original password! I can open his door!" A Yun explained.
"He has lots of food at ho?"
"Lots! He's a shut-in who loves hoarding food!" A Yun lied casually.
Scar pondered for a mont, "Let him go."
"I shouldn't need to tell you—you can probably guess how terrible your fate will be if you're lying to ."
A Yun quickly nodded, "Mhmm, I know!"
"Tell then, where does that person live? I hope it's not too far, otherwise my hand might slip and you'll get another wound." Scar's triangular eyes fixed intently on A Yun as his dagger moved like a venomous snake.
"Yuefu!"
"Yuefu? Who is it?"
"Li Xuan!"

Scar laughed aloud. He never expected the person A Yun ntioned would be the sa person he planned to kill—what a coincidence.
"Good, you're coming with us."
Scar spared A Yun. With A Yun handling the lock, the plan would proceed much more smoothly.
If A Yun caused trouble later, they could just kill him then.
Afterward, A Yun followed Scar's group to Yuefu. Along the way, he witnessed Scar's cruelty—when they caught survivors, they would cut them with knives, forcing them to run in other directions to lure away zombies.
They showed no humanity, looking at survivors as if they were livestock.

He had no idea whether Li Xuan actually had much food at ho. If there wasn't much, Scar would definitely take his anger out on him, and he'd end up worse than the captured survivors.

"Yuefu is just ahead," Scar said.
"Finally we're here, boss. Rember your promise—when we arrive, you have to share the won with us," one underling shouted.
The corner of Scar's mouth lifted, "There will be won, and there will be food too. This complex has plenty of beauties. Even if most turned into zombies, the remaining ones will be enough for each of us to have one. If not, there are always married won too."
"Married won are great—they know more," the underling laughed in agreent.
