"He's mine!"

Myriad Arrows' eyes shone as he suddenly vanished, a sharp light traveling toward the giant monster that was just sighted.

"Not before I get to him first. I called first dibs." another scowl ca from right next to Myriad Arrows.

And at exactly the sa ti, a white light was traveling at the exact sa speed, right next to him.

"How the hell is Kierch as fast as I am? I literally maxed out my agility stat because I should be able to run away from monsters." Myriad Arrows thought to himself, still continuing his pace.

But both of them did not take their eyes off the monster that appeared from the depths of this monster horde.

The monsters of all sizes and shapes around them seed to disregard the two lights that were traveling further into their ranks, as if they knew that they were trying to aim for the clear boss among them all.

And the boss towered among even these giants.

Myriad Arrows locked eyes with the pale yellow crystals that adorned the boss' head. Two black beads within those yellow eyes looked back even though there was a considerable distance between them.

The mont eye contact was made, Myriad Arrows could feel a shiver go up his spine.

Both Myriad Arrows and Kierch were rushing toward this boss as quickly as they could to try and fight it, but none of them even knew how strong the monster even was.

But this was not the ti to cower away.

Their guild leader was nowhere to be seen, and now was the ti for them to shine. They couldn't afford to cower away this ti.

"I need this one. And whatever it drops, our guild should claim it." Myriad Arrows made a ntal note as he quickened his pace even more.

"He can go faster?" Kierch gasped as he shook his head, taking a deeper breath and jumping forward, keeping up.

The monster that they were so desperate to fight was becoming more and more visible. The monsters around them started clearing away, as if creating a battle field for them both.

"The boss is welcoming us. Another intelligent monster. Damn this." Myriad Arrows shook his head.

"I hate dealing with actual smart monsters. The fight is not nearly as fun. They beco so condescending." Myriad Arrows sighed.

His feet screeched to a halt as he turned around, taking a quick survey around him.

Every single monster that was supposed to be swarming at him, trying to tear away at him, was just moving forward, not even glancing at him a second ti.

"Why did you stop?" Kierch stopped right next to him, his twin swords gleaming with a purple tint.

"I just wanted to see if the monsters would attack us if we were immobile. Looks like we are in for a one on one match with the big boss over there." Myriad Arrows pointed back at the star of the show.

The boss towered at a staggering height of perhaps fifteen feet. It was a giant. It looked at Myriad Arrows and Kierch like they were insects, or perhaps sothing of slightly more importance.

It had a weapon in its right hand - a club. But the club was made of wood, so both Myriad Arrows and Kierch had dismissed it a long ti ago.

They were more concerned of what was in its left hand.

The left hand covered in tal, and at the knuckles, were knuckle busters the size of n.

One punch from the monster would be enough to take their life, that was for sure.

"I will stay here, long range. It would be best if Shadow King were here, taking in the brunt of the damage, since he is the atier one of the three of us. But we have no choice, I guess. You will have to go forward, and start the close range." Myriad Arrows said.

"Or, you can leave it to alone. I want to see how I would fare on my own against a monster like this." Kierch chuckled.

"Don't be stupid. If we defeat the boss, then we might be able to pass forward. Behind us, the rest of the army is barely holding the horde back." Myriad Arrows shook his head almost instantly.

"I was joking. Then, what are we waiting for? Let us start attacking the snot out of this thing." Kierch said, a wide smile plastered on his face.

He jumped, and both of his swords shone like they were being basked in moonlight of all things.

His figure beca slightly illusory, as if his whole body was made of glass that was reflecting off the light that was passing through him.

And then, he disappeared.

"I really need to figure out what his class is." Myriad Arrows shook his head with dismay as he pointed his bow toward the giant boss.

The boss was locked onto him now, especially since Kierch was gone.

There was a giant smile, with two rows of teeth visible, on the boss' face. As if it was smiling.

Smiling at Myriad Arrows.

"It has been so long since I have had such interesting people co face ." A soft voice was audible in Myriad Arrows' ears.

He turned around imdiately, for such a soft voice could only co from right behind him.

And yet, there was nothing behind him. That much was obvious. And the clear source of the voice was standing infront of him, towering above them all.

"Looks like you have a few tricks up your sleeve. Don't worry. We will be pretty entertaining." Myriad Arrows sighed as he let go of his right index finger.

At the exact sa ti, an illusory figure appeared right above the boss. Two thin swords, akin to needles, went down, piercing the boss' neck.
