Mori was peeking inside the room, trying to co up with a strategy.

However, there was none he could think of.

One classic way to deal with multiple opponents was funneling them.

He was lucky that there was a passageway that would allow the funneling strategy, he'd need to try and agro1 one.

With luck, he'd be able to lure only one of them toward him, and could take his ti hamring his fist.

However, if both of them ca, even with the funnel strategy, without a weapon adding so sort of reach he wasn't in a better position.

At least, with that strategy he could easily keep track of both skeletons at once, while trying his best to take down one of them first.

The other classic way to deal with multiple opponents would be to run around them.

He had played gas before where running around, and hitting the closest enemy was truly a good strategy.

Usually, there was always an enemy in imdiate reach, while another one was a bit further behind, on its way to the action.

By the ti the enemy that was behind reached him, he should've been able to stagger the other one.

It was all about positioning and persevering.

However...

My stats are so low, there's no way I can run long enough.

Both enemies were patrolling the room extrely slowly, they were unaware of Mori and looked overall as dumb as the previous skeletons.

Truly a level 1 encounter.

Mori entered the room, opting for the first strategy.

Please, please, please...

The extrely oblivious skeleton closest to him finally noticed him.

As soon as he did, Mori retreated, hoping it would follow him.

It looked extrely confused, as it stood there simply watching him.

He eventually took a step, slowly approaching Mori in the passageway.

As it entered it, Mori had a sigh of relief.

It didn't take long until they were far enough that Mori felt safe tackling the skeleton again.

The sound of its bones clashing against the hard floor scared him, he glanced up quickly at the room but the other one wasn't coming.

Repeatedly, Mori hamred both fists, the monster unable to retaliate.

Eventually, its skull caved in, crumbling on the floor and consuming itself like the previous one did.

I'm getting the hang of it.

Nothing else besides that currency had dropped. Mori's shoulders dropped as he sat against the wall, his head resting on it.

He was focusing on breathing while working on his frustration.

And I didn't level up either.

He closed his eyes, calming himself.

He had played similar gas before, and he enjoys a real grind.

Spending hours getting almost nowhere felt good, as eventually you did go sowhere.

You were stronger, wiser, and smarter.

Here too, he knew he would eventually go sowhere, but it wasn't a ga.

This universe stems from Elder Heir Online, and he knew quite a few things about the ga in his world.

But he knew nothing about this dungeon, and its whole system differed completely from normal ones.

Individual rooms, teleportation, forced to complete it, and his magic not working?

To top it off, he was going at a snail's pace against easy opponents.

Nothing guaranteed he would get sowhere, or that he would have the glory of protagonists he read in novels or saw in anis.

He did hope for sothing to drop that would make his dungeon runs easier, but he kept his hope in check. All he wanted was anything, and he didn't even get that.

Perhaps being a protagonist wasn't ant to be.

His breathing had slowed down, and he felt ready to face the next one.

He got up and slowly walked, ready to jump it while its back was turned.

As he was about to jump forward, the skeleton turned around. As it saw Mori, it threw its fist forward, surprising Mori who wasn't expecting such quick movent.

Or maybe I'm the one who's slow, a fucking 1 in agility...

"Alright. You want a fistfight, huh? I'll fuck you up."

He threw his fist down at the monster, hoping to hamr its head, but it took a step sideways, and punched his stomach.

With nothing going his way, Mori shifted his weight forward, hoping to topple the skeleton.

It barely worked, he did fall forward but not straight on the skeleton, which ended up with him on the bottom, the monster on top of him.

He tried punching up, while the skeleton did the sa thing, punching down.

Mori's face was treated like a punching bag, while he tried his best fighting back.

He hadn't felt this kind of pain in a long ti.

One of the reasons he made it this far was how he could deal with pain, hunger, thirst, and many other things.

He usually kept so of those at a minimum, so he could listen to his body's needs, but this stinging pain, while not that bad, still hurt.

Mori kept fighting back, he had no other choices. His hitpoints were going down slowly, they were now at 3.

The last ti they had been so low was with Luxian, where they hit 1, despite all his tricks.

"AAAahhh!!!!"

Left, right, left, right. He kept hitting as much as he could.

The monster kept hitting back, until its motions stopped.

Quickly, it consud itself, leaving Mori alone on the cold floor.

He slowly rolled on his belly, getting himself up while exhaling loudly.

His face was cut in several places, and his hands were in excruciating pain.

He looked down, ready to pick up the kindle.

Once again, it was a single fla, barely visible.

And sothing else.

It looked like a globe floating next to the fla.

"An item?! Finally?!"

Its grey color revealed the fact that it was only common, but in Mori's eyes, that was a huge win.

He quickly touched it, light briefly filled the room before going out.

In his hand, he was holding his first weapon.

Finally, we're getting sowhere.
