Thankfully for Chloe, due to him having ill intentions toward her for so reason in this life, she could guess after seeing her status in the group that he would have likely thought of controlling her, unlike in the previous life where she was always below Ling Xue due to her getting more resources than her. She was also not much of a social person and not soone who liked to brag, which had kept her off his target list, she supposed.

However, suddenly she felt the pat on her head once again. The light, gentle pat on her head, even in this situation, was making her feel relaxed after making up her mind.
She looked at Chloe's cute face, which didn't show any malice toward her while patting her. For so reason, she didn't know, but she was not going to stop her, and she even started to feel good receiving her pats.
