Constantine II seems to have inherited his parents’ flaws: narrow-mindedness, arrogance, irritability, and a lack of cunning.
Therefore, basically, as long as a plot is made, he will fall for it.
Of course, such a chieftain can still hold a position in The Barbaric Wilderness, and can even do quite well. This kind of character is mainstream among the chieftains in the Southern Barbaric Lands, and a sly person like Constantine is the oddity.
