Jas and Patty made their way ho after leaving the law firm, both feeling a deep sense of accomplishnt.

The eting had been a resounding success, and now all that remained was to wait for the lawyers to draft the necessary docunts. Once everything was in order, they would be notified, and Jas could officially begin building his empire in secret.

The car ride back was mostly quiet, with Patty occasionally glancing at Jas, who was deep in thought.

She could tell he was processing everything that had happened today, already planning his next move. That was one thing she admired about him — his ability to adapt and strategize quickly.

Just a few days ago, he was an ordinary young man with no clear direction. Now, he was setting the foundations for sothing much bigger than even he fully understood.

More than half an hour later, they finally arrived ho. Jas parked the car in the driveway, turned off the engine, and stepped out. Patty followed, adjusting her purse as they made their way to the front door.

As soon as they entered the house, they were greeted by Leslie, who was slouched on the sofa, flipping between watching TV and scrolling through her phone.

She barely spared them a glance before muttering a lazy:

"Welco back."

Jas shook his head, amused at Leslie’s act.

"You’ve been like this all day, haven’t you?" He asked curiously.

Leslie smirked, her eyes still glued to her screen.

"Of course. This is what happens when you two abandon to suffer alone."

Patty chuckled, as she took off her jacket.

" I’ll go make lunch. It’s past noon already."

Jas nodded, already heading toward the stairs.

"I’ll be in my room."

Leslie waved a hand dismissively.

"Go on, then. I’ll just be here, starving and neglected."

Jas smirked but didn’t respond. He climbed the stairs, entered his room, and locked the door behind him.

Taking a deep breath, he pulled out his phone and imdiately put a call through to the law firm.

The phone rang for only a few seconds before it was answered by the sa receptionist who had greeted them earlier.

Her voice was professional and polite, the kind that was trained for high-end client interactions.

"Good afternoon, this is Harrington & Co. Law Firm. How may I assist you?"

"This is Jas Zolomon," he said, keeping his tone calm and direct.

"I was in a eting with Mr. Harrington earlier today regarding the offshore trust holding company. I need to speak with him again about another matter."

There was a slight pause, then the receptionist’s voice ca back, slightly more attentive than before.

"Of course, Mr. Zolomon. Please hold for a mont while I connect you."

Jas tapped his fingers lightly on the desk as he waited. Less than a minute later, Mr. Harrington’s enthusiastic voice ca through the speaker.

"Mr. Zolomon! I wasn’t expecting another call so soon. Is there anything I can clarify for you regarding the trust setup?"

Jas appreciated the eagerness in the older man’s tone. It was clear that Harrington valued him as a client, and for good reason — he wasn’t just another businessman looking for legal loopholes. He was a long-term investnt for them, and they knew it.

"No, everything regarding the trust is clear," Jas replied.

"I actually called for sothing else. I wanted to ask if your firm has a private investigator on staff, or if you or anyone on your team has contacts with a trusted PI."

There was a brief silence on the other end, followed by Harrington’s intrigued voice.

"A private investigator? That’s an interesting request, Mr. Zolomon. May I ask what you need one for?"

Jas had already anticipated this question. He knew how lawyers worked—they didn’t like getting involved in anything that could backfire on them legally. That’s why he had already formulated a response that sounded completely business-related.

"It’s for due diligence," Jas said smoothly.

"Now that I’m expanding my assets, I need to conduct background checks on certain individuals and businesses I may be dealing with in the future. You understand how important it is to know who you’re getting involved with."

Harrington seed to accept the answer because he responded imdiately, his voice back to its businesslike efficiency.

"That’s a very wise approach. And yes, our firm does have a private investigator we work with regularly. He’s highly competent and discreet."

That was exactly what Jas wanted to hear. He leaned back in his chair, a small smirk forming on his lips.

"That’s good to know. I’d like to et with him as soon as possible. Ideally, before the day ends or first thing tomorrow."

Harrington hesitated for a mont.

"I can’t guarantee a eting today, but I’ll reach out to him imdiately. If he’s available, I’ll have my receptionist call you back with the details."

"That works for ," Jas replied. "Let know as soon as you get an answer."

"Of course, Mr. Zolomon. I’ll handle this personally."

"Appreciate it, Mr. Harrington."

With that, Jas ended the call and set his phone down on the desk. He exhaled slowly, feeling the thrill of progress. Everything was falling into place.

If this private investigator was as good as Harrington claid, then it wouldn’t be long before Jas had everything he needed on Cullen Corp and the McCullen family.

He wasn’t just looking for dirt — he wanted everything. Their financials, their business deals, their skeletons. The things that hadn’t been made public yet.

Jas rested briefly, before standing up and stretching. He knew that there was no point in obsessing over it right now — he would know soon enough if the eting could happen today.

Deciding to pass the ti, he left his room and went downstairs. He found Leslie still in the sa position on the sofa, but now she was watching so drama with intense focus.

"You’re still here?" Jas teased, sitting down beside her.

She glanced at him briefly before turning back to the TV.

"I have nowhere else to be."

Jas grabbed the remote and lowered the volu, making her groan in protest.

"Hey!"

Jas didn’t pay attention to her as he changed the channel to an HDMI channel, and switched on the console. He took his seat and allowed the console to boot, and after he was done,he started playing ga.

Leslie saw this but didn’t dare to pick up the pad. She won’t let Jas have his way again, a third ti, and so, she decided to sit this one out.

Jas, from the corner of his eyes watched Leslie, with a smirk on his face, and he when he saw that she wasn’t going to pick up the pad, he continued playing on his own.

A couple of minutes later, Patty walked in from the kitchen, wiping her hands on a towel.

"Lunch is ready."

Leslie clapped her hands together dramatically.

"Finally! I was dying of hunger!"

Jas rolled his eyes but smiled as he followed her to the dining table.

As they ate, his phone vibrated on the table. He glanced at it and saw the number was from the law firm, and a his lips stretched into a smirk.
