World Domination Begins With Getting a System in a Modern World Chapter 113: Going On A Date [Power Stone Goal Bonus - ]
The afternoon drifted by quietly.
After sinking into the couch and letting his thoughts run wild for a while, Jas eventually pulled himself up, forcing his mind to settle down.
He knew that there was no point drowning in emotions now. What happened between him and Leslie... it happened. No regrets. There was no reason to feel so.
But tmge will still have to figure everything out later and there would be more than enough ti to do that.
Right now, he had sothing else to focus on — the dinner date with Natasha.
Ti moved faster than he realized. Before he knew it, the sun had started its slow descent over the horizon, painting the sky in soft streaks of gold and pink.
Jas brought out his phone and checked the ti.
5: 10pm
A little under two hours left.
He pushed himself off the couch with a grunt and walked to the bathroom. Staring at himself in the mirror, he saw the slight ssiness of his hair, the faint signs of emotions lingering on his face.
He splashed cold water on his face, patted it dry, and leaned closer to the mirror.
"You’re good," he muttered to himself.
"You’ve handled worse."
Stepping out of the bathroom, he crossed the room to his wardrobe and opened it wide.
The problem hit him imdiately.
He barely had anything decent to wear for a dinner date. His closet was filled mostly with casual outfits, a few hastily bought jackets, so old formal wear that was slightly outdated, and a pile of new golf attire he had just bought.
None of them scread "taking a gorgeous girl out for a nice evening."
Jas sighed heavily.
"How the hell did I not think of this earlier?"
Wellz he couldn’t he blad. From buying the cars to the golf set, to calling Mr Donovan and then what happened with Leslie. His day can be defined as a rollercoaster of events and emotions.
He rummaged through the clothes anyway, trying to piece sothing together. A clean, crisp white shirt. Slim black dress pants. Black loafers. And one of the better-looking jackets he owned — navy blue, still sharp, still fitting.
He laid them out on the bed and stared at them critically.
It wasn’t designer-level. It wasn’t flashy. But it was clean, polished, and neat. And it was more than perfect the the date.
He sat down on the edge of the bed, checking his phone. No new ssages.
Natasha was probably bouncing off the walls right now, getting ready.
Jas smiled slightly at the thought, feeling the edges of his stress start to smooth out.
Tonight wasn’t supposed to be complicated. He wasn’t going to overthink it. It was just a nice dinner, a chance to breathe a little, and see where things will go between the of them.
His phone buzzed lightly in his hand. A simple ssage from Natasha popped up.
"Can’t wait to see you tonight!"
Jas chuckled under his breath.
He tossed the phone onto the bed and stood up, feeling lighter sohow.
He still had about an hour left before it was ti to leave. Enough ti to shower again, shave, get dressed properly, and clear his mind.
***
An hour later, Jas was fully dressed, freshened up, and more or less ntally prepared for the evening ahead.
He picked up his phone and the Chevrolet Trax key fob from the table and walked toward the door of his room.
Just as he reached for the handle and pulled the door open, he froze.
Standing there, like she had been waiting for him, was Leslie — her electric blue eyes shining softly, a warm, playful smile on her face.
"Hey," she said casually, but there was a flicker of emotion behind her eyes that betrayed how she really felt.
Before he could say anything, she stepped forward and gently took his hand in both of hers, squeezing it softly.
"I want you to have fun with Natasha tonight," she said quietly, her voice almost a whisper.
"Don’t think too much about what happened between us. Just... enjoy yourself."
Jas opened his mouth to reply, but Leslie, as if knowing he was about to speak, leaned forward and pressed a feather-light kiss against his cheek.
"You can go wild if you want," she teased with a small mischievous grin, her voice dropping to an even softer whisper.
"Because no matter what happens, I already have your first kiss."
Before Jas could react, Leslie turned on her heel, her hair whipping behind her like a black silk ribbon, and dashed back toward her room.
"You look handso!" she shouted over her shoulder, laughing brightly as she disappeared behind her door, leaving Jas standing there, stunned and smiling like an idiot.
Jas chuckled under his breath, shaking his head as he closed his door behind him.
He knew things between them were going to change from now on — that small innocent barrier they’d always carefully maintained had been shattered completely.
And honestly? The new developnts was more than welcod. It also felt like sothing inevitable, as it was sothing that was always ant to happen.
Still smiling faintly, Jas made his way downstairs, adjusting his jacket slightly.
He reached the living area just as Patty was flipping through TV channels, lounging on the couch.
He was about to walk past her quietly, but she must have sensed him, because she turned her head and saw him.
Her eyes lit up imdiately.
"Honey, you’re already off to your date?" she asked warmly, standing up from the couch, smoothing out her clothes.
Jas walked toward her, giving her a soft peck on the cheek.
"Yeah," he replied simply.
Patty took a small step back to get a better look at him, her smile widening.
"You look dashing, sweetheart," she said approvingly, gently adjusting a slightly crooked part of his jacket.
"I’m sure Natasha’s heart will be doing backflips tonight."
Jas smiled back, feeling a little more confident under her gaze.
"Thanks."
Patty chuckled lightly and fixed his collar, brushing off a tiny invisible speck of dust with all the care in the world, before leaning closer, lowering her voice with a teasing glint in her eye.
"And honey," she whispered, "I know I can’t exactly stop you, so if you’re planning to do anything... adventurous tonight," she winked slyly, "make sure you use protection. Unless your pull out ga is A-rank or you’re ready to beco a father."
Jas almost choked.
His face instantly turned beet red, and he stepped back a little, flustered and wide-eyed.
"I—" he stamred.
Patty burst into soft, musical laughter, covering her mouth as she watched his reaction with pure amusent.
"Are you embarrassed?" she teased sweetly, her voice still full of laughter.
"Co on, honey. You’re a man now. No need to act so shy."
Jas shook his head quickly, trying to recover his dignity, but the blush wouldn’t leave his cheeks.
"Thanks for the advice," he muttered gruffly.
Patty only laughed harder.
"Go now," she said, waving her hand dramatically like she was sending him off to battle.
"Enjoy your date — and enjoy the night."
Jas gave her a weak nod, mumbling sothing under his breath, and quickly escaped toward the garage before she could say anything else even more embarrassing.
As he walked into the garage, he let out a slow breath, running a hand through his hair.
"God... Won are dangerous," he muttered with a small smile.
He pressed the unlock button on the Trax key fob. The car gave a soft chirp, and he slid inside, starting the engine smoothly.
Pulling out of the driveway, Jas couldn’t help but grin.
Tonight was going to be... interesting. Very interesting.
