"Hello?" Cailly weakly greeted Lawrence and crossed her fingers. The thumping of her heart beca aggressive and she could feel her breath destabilizing. She bit her nails on her thumb and stood straight beside the counter of the kitchen.
Lawrence: "Hey! Finally, were you sleeping? No… ah? Rym?" He greets excitedly but suddenly toning down realizing that it was not Yanarym who answered the phone.
"No, it's Cailly."
Lawrence: "Hey, Cailly? Where's Rym?" He asked, although she was expecting it, a sting of pain was shot on her chest when he didn't even ask for her welfare. They haven't talked for almost a year yet... Get your grip together Cai, he's your sister's boyfriend.
"She's asleep."
Lawrence: "...I see, is she tired?"
"I guess so, she's been swimming non-stop earlier."
Lawrence: "I understand, anyway, It's nice to talk with you again."
"Yeah, too." They had a monotone exchange of conversation that it's starting to feel awkward.
Lawrence: "Can you tell her to call if she woke up?"
"Of course, sure."
Lawrence: "Thanks, sorry to disturb you, it's just that she didn't reply to today."
"Oh, that, Kuya told us to keep our phones away."
Lawrence: "He's still strict with her?"
"Yeah, as usual." The other line beca quiet, Cailly bit her lips and played with her nails. She doesn't want to end the call -- even if they all talk about Yanarym, she doesn't care. As long as she could hear his voice.
Lawrence: "...are there other n around? Like guests n --- young and handso?" Cailly laughed hearing him being troubled.
This wasn't like him, as far as she could rember. Yanarym was always surrounded by n. And Lawrence wasn't affected, at so point, he was proud to see the girl that his courting was being idolized by n with a variety of standing in society.
"No, it's exclusive for our family. It's just us four and so other employees on the entire island."
Lawrence: "Really? And the employees? Were they around?" He sounded relieved with the news she said.
"Hey, hahaha, since when did you beco a worriso person? You're not the jealous type."
Lawrence: "I know, but sothing changes over ti. And I was so used to being beside her. I just get anxious when she's not around."
"Don't you ask her regarding that to make you assured?"
Lawrence: "I can't ask her that, she would think I'm such a loser or sothing..." he changed a lot, Cailly thought. It's been just a year --- where did the boastful person go?
"I can see that I an not actually see but you know, what I an,"
Lawrence: "Yeah, yeah, I get your point..."
"Ahm, so...you like to call her every day now?" She asked out of context. Just curious how much Yanarym changed him.
She rembered when I asked her back then when he was just courting her, why won't he call her often, she loves it when soone keeps her always updated. And he told her that he was not the person who wastes his ti on trivial matters like calling a person every single day.
Lawrence: "I do, but she often cannot be reached."
"That's right, most of the ti she's sleeping. Zen was the one who was keeping an eye on her as Kuya tried to improve the island before the grand opening."
Lawrence: "I'm glad she's having fun. How about you? It's been almost months, how are you?"
"? I'm good, I'm great." She laughed awkwardly and peered at the fruits on the center table. Lawrence didn't talk on the other line like he was waiting for her to add sothing to what she'd said but her mind turned blank.
Lawrence: "I see, I'm glad you good, so? Ahm Goodbye?"
"Right, right, goodbye."
Lawrence: "Hmm, thanks in advance. Bye."
"No problem, take care. Bye."
Lawrence: "You too."
Cailly took a deep breath and gazed at the lock screen of Yanarym's phone. There was Lawrence and her smiling together in a picture. She blinked a few tis before moving her eyes away. She left the kitchen and walked to the second floor. She knocked on Yanarym's door before opening it and placed her phone on the side table.
She smiled and adored Yanarym before sitting beside her. "You're lucky, please don't hurt him. He changed a lot for you."
"Welco back Rym." Lawrence embraces Yanarym almost lifting her off to the ground when he saw her walking with Cailly out of the airport. On their back, there were Yazeno and Yashnile who had solemn faces and glared towards his direction but he didn't mind since his whole attention was on his girlfriend. "I miss you so much." He whispered to her ear before he kissed her nose and snuggled her waist leaving no gap between their bodies.
"I miss you too." She smiled at him with a sweet voice. "Were you not busy with your current assignnt? I told you not to fetch ." She inquired as he took her baggage from her hands.
"That's my surprise to you, I asked for vacation and they approved my temporary leave." Yanarym paused for a second, she was a little startled that he chose her over an assignnt. She knew how ambitious this person is, his main priority was to stand at the top as early as he could.
"Wow, I'm surprised... since when?" She tried to sound casual and delighted by it but she was not anticipating this kind of surprise.
"Today." That's why Guide-sama didn't notify her because it just happened today and earlier there was so much going on because she kept on monitoring the brother. Yazeno was convinced by Yashnile to co back ho, in addition, he was also persuaded to have all of his attention in his future. For now, Yanarym could say that it was another temporary impedint. However, she's not sure what's going on with Yashnile's head, Guide-sama couldn't understand his perspective because he was ruled by his emotions.
