The Lady Lord calculated the days, Li Yu should return tonight, so in the afternoon she had no heart for anything else.
After dealing with a dispute over spoils with her commanding officers, she planned to sneak away. But just as she was about to leave, a guard reported that Golden Finger Roro had co to see her.
Miss Rabbit was sowhat surprised, as Roro had been staying in Rock Snow City, assisting her aunt Alisa and great-grandmother Ona in managing that city.
After all, the place used to be the territory of the Figrola family, and even though she had now occupied it, getting the locals to fully recognize her would still require ti.
Upon hearing that Roro wanted to see her, Ireya thought sothing might have happened over in Rock Snow City.
But she had only contacted Alisa yesterday using the Double Rest Sect’s radio, and at that ti Rock Snow City was still relatively stable, while Roro should have left the city long ago.
Miss Rabbit couldn’t figure it out, so she simply decided not to think about it anymore and waited for Roro to speak himself.
The Finance Officer looked travel-worn, having rushed all the way without much rest, his face sunburned, his clothes covered in dust. However, upon entering, he first made a bow to the young lady.
"Lady Ireya."
"Sir Roro."
"I heard the war is going well, it seems you will soon recover the whole Western Territory."
The Lady Lord nodded, "This is all thanks to everyone’s brave fighting, moreover the Double Rest Sect’s dragon and Italian cannon along with the Three-eyed Divine Bird helped greatly."
"Then in a few more days you can announce to the whole continent that you have beco its new master."
"Hmm, let’s wait until Prophet rlin returns. Anyway, there’s no rush for this, Sir Roro, you’re not here just to ask when the war will end, are you?"
Roro pondered for a mont before speaking, "I’m indeed here because of the current war."
Ireya raised an eyebrow, waiting quietly for what he would say next.
"An old acquaintance has entrusted to ask if you can spare Ilkand and his warriors."
"Old acquaintance, what old acquaintance?"
"Sir Leo, whom you have dealt with several tis before."
"Leo? That fellow is still alive, huh." Miss Rabbit was sowhat surprised; after Lion Heart Castle fell, she heard that except for Gars’s wife and daughter who escaped, the rest of the Vespasian family were executed by those Wing Tribe people.
"Sir Roro said, "Sir Leo had hidden away a week before the city fell, those Wing Tribe couldn’t catch him and had no way around it. Oh, right, he also saved Lord Claudio."
"Lord Claudio is still alive?" The Lady Lord was truly shocked this ti.
Claudio is the second son of Edward II, the younger brother of the forr Emperor Gars of the Empire, possessing the purest Vespasian family bloodline.
Ireya was no longer the political novice she once was; her mind worked quickly, recalling the information Gabriel had revealed during interrogation, thus blurting out.
"Second Son Alliance."
Upon hearing these three words, Roro’s expression subtly changed, "You... have also heard of the Second Son Alliance?"
"I know Leo is part of the Second Son Alliance," Ireya said, "So Claudio has joined the Second Son Alliance too. The Second Son Alliance wants to push him out as the New Emperor, right? What about you, are you part of the Second Son Alliance, Sir Roro?"
Roro nodded, candidly, "I did indeed join the Second Son Alliance, just four years ago."
"But I rember you’re your father’s eldest son."
"Not all mbers of the Second Son Alliance are second sons." Roro said, "This mysterious organization was initially founded to help second sons improve their situation, with core mbers being the second sons of the twelve major families.
"However, once they united the strength of the second sons, they beca very influential and attractive to middle and small nobles like myself.
"And as the Second Son Alliance wants to continue growing, they must recruit more fresh blood to do their bidding; we joined back then, but our status in the organization doesn’t compare to the first batch.
"Was it Hels who introduced you to joining?" Ireya asked.
"That’s right." Roro did not conceal, "Lord Hels is an important mber of the organization."
"What about Leo, is he your leader?"
"No one knows who the leader of the Second Son Alliance is; he lurks in the shadows, observing everything, plotting everything. Leo is a liaison officer, responsible for contacting everyone and conveying his orders."
"Is Ilkand also part of the Second Son Alliance?"
Roro nodded, then shook his head, "For safety reasons, most mbers of the Second Son Alliance don’t know each other’s identities; I don’t know if Ilkand is in the organization.
"I just received orders to try my best to save him, so I hastily ca to see you."
But after understanding the whole story, the Lady Lord said, "I can’t spare him; he is the murderer of Marquis Kuren."
"Ilkand said it was a misunderstanding. At that ti, they were besieged by those Dwarves in the valley, knowing escape was impossible. Marquis Kuren volunteered to be killed by Ilkand to demonstrate his loyalty to those Dwarves.
"After gaining the Dwarves’ trust, Ilkand left Dragon Ridge Mountain Range, intending to warn you and your reinforcents not to fall into those Dwarves’ trap.
"But in the end, he missed eting you in the mountain range."
Upon hearing this, Miss Rabbit was moved, feeling admiration for the courage and decisive action Marquis Kuren displayed at the ti.
After a mont, she asked again, "Does Ilkand have evidence?"
"No, given the circumstances at that ti, he couldn’t leave any evidence; otherwise, those Dwarves would have likely discovered it, and he wouldn’t have been able to bring the ssage out from Dragon Ridge Mountain Range."
The Lady Lord rubbed her chin, "As you ntion it, Galin seed to tell too that Ilkand didn’t seem like soone who would betray the knight’s honor.
"But I can’t simply rely on Ilkand’s words to spare him, since many people witnessed him killing Marquis Kuren."
Roro understood it was difficult to clear Ilkand’s na, so he added, "The Second Son Alliance hopes to make a deal with you."
"What kind of deal? I’m not in dire need of money now." Ireya said.
"Not money, you becoming the Western Territory’s Lord is already inevitable, but so may use your identity to make an issue.
"If you’re willing to spare Ilkand, then Claudio can, on behalf of the Vespasian family, officially proclaim you as the Lord of the Western Territory, allowing you and your family to forever rule the Western Territory legitimately."
