Li Yu had read nurous myths and legends describing the afterlife.

For instance, Buddhism’s cycle of life and death, Christianity’s heaven and hell, and the famous Egyptian myth where souls are weighed on a scale.

In the story, when a person dies, Anubis takes them away for judgent. The heart is cut out and placed on the scale; if it is lighter than the feather on the other side, you could enter the King of the Underworld’s palace. If it’s heavier, you would be devoured by Ammit, the crocodile-headed lion creature.

However, the death Li Yu experienced was different from all of these.

As the female lizardman’s blade descended, his world also dimd, similar to the death screen in a video ga.

Li Yu could see nothing, hear nothing there; his panic climbed to its peak in that instant.

But soon, a glimr of light appeared before him.

Li Yu didn’t know what the light signified, but he was certain that staying here would yield nothing but darkness.

So without much hesitation, he walked towards the direction of the light.

Fortunately, it didn’t take him long to reach it.

Then, Li Yu saw a labyrinth, and a box within the labyrinth.

Huh?!

Is this... a Sokoban puzzle ga?

Li Yu didn’t rember how long it took to push all the boxes in the maze and reveal the passage behind.

When he walked through that passage, he saw a dazzling white light. He closed his eyes instinctively, and when he opened them again, he found himself lying in a patch of grass.

Li Yu recognized this was the sa patch of grass he had fallen into when he first arrived. However, the difference was that there were no more sounds of battle around him now.

Li Yu instinctively looked down at his chest for the wound made by the wooden spear, but there was nothing there.

Not only was there no wound, but there were also no clothes.

It was then that Li Yu realized he had been stripped bare, literally bare, with nothing left on his body except his body hair.

Suit, socks, shoes, and even that watch worth over a hundred thousand... all gone.

Li Yu had played so many gas and killed so many bosses that he never expected that one day he would be "looted" like a boss, and it was a major loot—so major that even his underwear was gone, in the most literal sense.

A night breeze blew by, and Li Yu couldn’t help but shiver.

He reached for his neck again, and just like his chest, the horrific cut that was there had vanished.

Li Yu knew it was the effect of his divine sequence "Reborn" that brought him back to life from the dead, and it seed to have worked quite swiftly at that.

Even though he lost his watch, Li Yu didn’t know how long he had been dead, but judging by the night sky, it was evident that it was still night, and he was still in Bratis. This ant that only a few hours could have passed since his death.

After all, the last person who held this divine attribute took three full days to resurrect, which makes one wonder if that person wasn’t too good at Sokoban.

Being cautious, Li Yu decided not to get up imdiately but continued to squat and first observed his surroundings, making sure that those lizard-headed monsters were nowhere to be seen before standing up from the grass.

He was extrely thirsty and had nothing on him, so he thought about finding so water to drink first and also getting himself a couple of pieces of clothing.

At the very least, cover little Li Yu up.

Li Yu rembered where those bizarre creatures had charged from; after contemplating for a mont, he decided to try his luck in that direction.

By then, Li Yu had guessed that those who attacked him were likely the lizard people living in the swamp, as their features were quite distinctive.

These creatures were raiders; after looting a place, they likely wouldn’t stay there.

So, while heading towards the direction from where they ca might seem dangerous, in reality, it was safer than wandering aimlessly in other directions.

And there should be a village they had raided nearby; clothes were debatable because those lizard people seed to be in dire need of them, but water should be findable as they couldn’t possibly have stolen the wells.

Having made up his mind, Li Yu headed toward a small hill not far away.

Along the way, he saw many corpses, most of them human, with a few Half-Beasts here and there. Without exception, they all died grueso deaths, and like him, had been stripped completely clean. As for the corpses of those lizard-headed monsters, Li Yu had not seen a single one.

He didn’t know if it was because they were such strong fighters or if their companions had taken their bodies away.

Li Yu tended to lean toward the latter, because the female lizardman who had previously beheaded him was only a bit stronger than the average human female, which was not particularly outrageous; she clearly was no match for a Half-Beast, otherwise his head would have likely flown off with that single blow.

Forget it, Li Yu decided not to reminisce about his mont of death.

The experience was truly too acutely thrilling.

He hadn’t walked far when a twig on the ground cut his foot, which was unfortunately bare, as those thieving lizard people had not left him even a pair of socks.

Li Yu could only continue forward with his injured foot, but fortunately, after climbing the hill, it seed his luck turned around. He saw a small village below.

Li Yu lingered on the hill for a while, making sure there was no movent inside before cautiously making his way down.

First, he went to the well, drew a bucket of water, and without worrying about the risk of diarrhea, eagerly guzzled it down to soothe his throat that felt like it was on fire.

After setting down the bucket and wiping his mouth, Li Yu wondered where he might find a pair of shoes.

Unexpectedly, at that mont, the door in front of him was suddenly pushed open.

Li Yu watched the lizard person inside the house, who was equally surprised to see a naked human suddenly standing outside.

But that wasn’t all.

They soon realized that they were old acquaintances of each other.

The one inside the house was none other than the female lizardman who had cut Li Yu’s throat with a small knife.

In other words, Li Yu was now face to face with his own killer.

The atmosphere suddenly beca quite eerie.

After a long mont, Li Yu was the first to react. Without hesitation, he charged at the female lizardman, not out of revenge, but from fear that she wasn’t the only lizard person in the village.

If he tried to run and she called for help, he might very well lose his second life today.

It must be said that Li Yu’s judgnt was quite accurate. Indeed, after a mont of surprise, the female lizardman did intend to call for help, but was t with a punch to the face from Li Yu.

However, Li Yu underestimated the enemy’s ability to take a hit and overestimated his own combat skills as a city office worker.

Despite the pain, the female lizardman managed to cry out.

Then two more lizard people burst out from the room, both young, around fourteen or fifteen, holding their weapons aggressively.

Next, another lizard person with a severed arm ca charging out of the neighboring house, swinging an axe and howling strangely.

Li Yu took a few steps, was stabbed in the leg by one of the young lizard people, and then an axe was swung at the back of his head.

Li Yu’s world plunged into darkness once again.

In his last monts before death, Li Yu heard the female lizardman who had killed him once before shouting sothing urgently.

"Sosokus! Sosokus!" she yelled.

However, this ti Li Yu’s translation feature did not work.

No, it must be a na, and that’s why it wasn’t translated.
