Lord Gaven, because he had rushed to the front, was not squeezed by the crowd but he appeared to be stupefied.

With his mouth agape, he stood speechless, rooted in place.

Rock Snow City’s acting city lord seed unable to accept the reality before him until an attendant dragged him into an adjacent tower, thereby saving him from being directly struck to death by a projectile.

Quintus, who was already in the tower, quickly checked Lord Gaven’s body but found no injuries.

No matter what anyone said in his ear, Lord Gaven continued to look dazed and would not respond.

Quintus knew that they could not rely on Lord Gaven for what was to co.

"We must leave this place," the High Priest said solemnly to the Figrola family warriors nearby.

"This tower is made of stone and cannot withstand fire, the blaze outside will soon reach us. The south gate is now impassable, find a rope, we can use it to climb out the window."

Quintus’s mind was clear, and he began directing the remaining people to take action.

Soone quickly found a rope and fastened it around Lord Gaven’s waist.

However, just as they finished doing this, they saw a group of enemy soldiers descending from above the tower.

Four warriors struggled to defend the door, fending off the enemies outside. Two others helped Quintus lower Lord Gaven down towards the ground, inch by inch.

Just when they were about to reach the ground, a cavalry unit outside the city was alerted.

Ilkand was still leading his n and confronting a small group of militia who had co to rescue Lord Gaven and others when suddenly soone tapped him on the back. Ilkand turned to see a Blood Moon Association warrior pointing towards the city gate.

When Ilkand looked in the direction indicated, his eyes imdiately lit up.

"Is that... the grand commander of the army, Lord Gaven?"

Ilkand put his thumb and forefinger into his mouth and blew a whistle, then, no longer paying attention to the enemies before him, led his cavalry toward the base of the city.

Of course, Quintus noticed the commotion and his face changed slightly. He dared not lower anyone anymore and instead began pulling back up.

However, Ilkand had unslung his longbow from behind, nocked an arrow, and shot Lord Gaven in the left hand!

Before he could draw a new arrow from his quiver, dozens more arrows flew out from beside him.

Most of them were deflected by the armor on Lord Gaven’s body, but so hit the exposed parts of his flesh.

One of his legs was even pierced by three arrows.

Quintus was frightened, nearly losing his grip on the rope, but ultimately, with the help of the other two, they managed to pull Lord Gaven back up.

This ti, Lord Gaven was no longer stupefied; moans could be heard from beneath his helt. Quintus hurriedly helped him remove the armor and began dressing his wounds.

The battle outside the door continued, and the enemy seed to be increasing in number. One of the four warriors defending the gate had already fallen, and the remaining three were all injured, unable to hold out for much longer.

Although no one said it out loud, everyone knew the situation was grim.

After a mont of hesitation, Quintus still advised, "Lord Gaven, perhaps you should surrender."

Lord Gaven, having rested a little and regained so strength, showed a pained smile upon hearing this, "I should have listened to you... sending Sir Ireya to deal with Hirode, then it would be her waiting for death in the tower now."

Quintus sighed, "Sir Ireya would not have lost this battle."

Lord Gaven beca sowhat angry upon hearing this, "Do you also think I’m inferior to her?"

"Sir Ireya has Saturday behind her, as well as Prophet rlin," Quintus said, "Although the Silver Moon Sect is a rival to the Double Rest Sect, I must admit that their gods are indeed very powerful.

"I even feel that the Wing Tribe might not stand a chance against them."

Gaven was incredulous, "But the Wing Tribe still has three dragons."

"That’s correct, but Sir Ireya has already slain one dragon."

Gaven fell silent, unable to refute this point.

A mont later, he added, "Let’s see if Ireya can get past the Blood Moon Association first. With Hirodod there, I’m curious to see how that fellow nad rlin and the Double Rest Sect will continue their missionary work in the Westlands."

......

Miss Rabbit, though she did not participate in the siege against Duolin City, had been keeping a close eye on the battle reports from there.

However, considering that Duolin City is the stronghold of the Silver Moon Church, and now that it has been occupied by the Blood Moon Association, Li Yu did not send any Sabbath to that place.

Therefore, the Lady could only wait for the intelligence brought back by the carrier pigeons, just like the other nobility.

The young lady was not very fond of the man nad Gaven, but she disliked Hirodod even more. Given the choice of two evils, Miss Rabbit hoped that Gaven would win the battle.

Moreover, as the attacking side, they should at the very least be able to maintain a stalemate. By then, if Gaven were to send soone to ask for her help, she thought that might actually be quite good.

However, reality often proves stranger than fiction.

While the Lady was in her study, toying with the crystal ball Li Yu had given her under the pretense of dealing with official business, a hurried footsteps sounded outside her door.

At the sa ti, the voice of Fosto ca from outside, "Sir Ireya, there’s news from Duolin City."

Miss Rabbit quickly put aside the crystal ball, cleared her throat, and sat up straight, "Co in."

Upon hearing this, the old advisor pushed open the door and entered, handing a slip of paper to the Lady.

It contained only one sentence, yet it made the young lady gasp in shock.

"Hirodod has won and has captured Gaven, how did he do it?"

"At the mont, it’s still unclear, but it seems Lord Gaven has indeed been defeated, and it’s a much bigger loss than we expected. This is not good news, as it will greatly enhance the reputation of Hirodod and the Blood Moon Association in the Westlands," Fosto said gravely.

Miss Rabbit felt bewildered; Gaven had taken nearly ten thousand n to lay siege to Duolin City. In contrast, although Hirodod had successfully taken the city, he did not have many soldiers at his disposal. How could they have lost?

Moreover, while they were discussing, a second carrier pigeon had landed in the pigeonhouse.

This pigeon brought a second ssage, or rather, a piece of terrible news.

Of the eight thousand n Gaven had brought, two thousand had been lost in battle, another two thousand had fled back, leaving four thousand to be captured. In order to save their lives, these four thousand warriors decided to follow Hirodod and join the Blood Moon Association.

In this way, the Blood Moon Association had its own army now, but Gaven, at least, showed so integrity by not bowing to Hirodod.

For the ti being, Hirodod did not trouble him and had him locked in the dungeon along with Quintus and others.
