Perhaps Ying Man’s "Crow’s mouth" was too powerful.

Not long after his brief excitent, Che Haishen received a ssage from Chen Jiahuan, saying she unexpectedly had so matters to attend to and asked if the recording could be delayed by half a month.

Che Haishen was in a difficult position because he had told Bratis Culture Communication Co., Ltd. that he could finish the first song by next Tuesday at the latest.

Now only four days were left, not to ntion the mixing that needed to be done after recording.

If it were only a two or three-day delay, Che Haishen might have clenched his teeth and thought of sothing, but half a month was a bit too long.

In the afternoon, he received another piece of bad news from Ying Man.

The rich second-generation pursuer of Chen Jiahuan really went all out, hiring a sowhat famous producer to tailor a song for her.

This producer had composed music for several stars before and worked on albums. No wonder Chen Jiahuan decided to push aside this project to focus on that song.

Che Haishen felt as if struck by lightning upon hearing the bad news, his vision going dark as he sat stunned by the school’s small flower bed.

Plus, the recording studio usage period arranged by his ’py’ friend was almost up.

If Che Haishen wanted to use a recording studio again, he would have to rent one outside school, but the deposit Li Yu had given him was almost all spent.

At that mont, Ying Man ca over with a bag of sunflower seeds, "Brother, you see what I was talking about. Hurry up and pick a place. It’s my treat, to mourn the love that withered before it could bloom."

Upon hearing this, Che Haishen didn’t reply, but just stared intently at a Chinese parasol tree not far away, where a stray cat was sharpening its claws.

"Don’t be like that, friend. You never stood a chance from the beginning. Even without Chi Fangyu, soone else would snatch her away."

"Chen Jiahuan isn’t a bad person; she’s just beautiful and cos from a good family. She spends nearly ten thousand yuan on costics alone each month, and takes an international trip every year. She’s not from the sa world as us. Do you think even if you managed to catch her, you could afford the expenses of being with her?"

"Letting go early might be a kind of liberation. The Buddha said, only by relinquishing attachnts to love can one attain freedom," Ying Man counseled.

"What, have you seen through the mortal world and plan to beco a monk?" Che Haishen finally spoke.

"I understand what you’re saying. I’m not sitting here because of heartbreak; I’m worried because I can’t find a suitable lead singer."

At this point, he suddenly paused and stared straight at Ying Man.

"You’re also in the vocal music departnt, aren’t you? Sing a couple of lines for to hear."

"No, I an, Che Haishen, we’ve been classmates for three years, and if you count high school, that’s six years. Haven’t you ever heard sing?" Ying Man rolled her eyes.

"Cut the crap, just tell if you’re going to sing or not," Che Haishen demanded.

"Alright then, for your sake, I’ll reluctantly sing a bit," Ying Man spat the sunflower seed shells she had in her mouth into her hand.

She cleared her throat slightly and sang a piece of "Can You Hear, My Love?" When she finished, she noticed that Che Haishen’s face had turned very strange.

Che Haishen thought for a long ti before he could only remark with a sigh, "Your voice is truly unique.

"I’ve heard of raspy voices before, but this is my first ti hearing a ’broken gong’ voice. However, your pitch is good, your range is not bad, and your breath control is very steady. It’s odd, why are your grades not high?"

"Because I didn’t study well for my theory classes," Ying Man said, cracking more sunflower seeds.

"Eat fewer sunflower seeds. You’re a vocal music student, don’t you need to take good care of your voice?" Che Haishen frowned and said.

He originally thought Ying Man would tell him to mind his own business, just as they had often bickered in the past.

But unexpectedly, Ying Man simply made an "oh" sound upon hearing the words, really put the seeds away, and brought up an old issue, "Where are we going to eat tonight?"

"Nowhere, going to the recording studio to record the song," Che Haishen shook his head, "I’ll send you the lyrics and tune right now, you’ll be the lead singer."

"Hold on a second, I haven’t agreed yet," Ying Man raised her eyebrows.

"Didn’t you just say that anyone who gives away songs is a simp? It’s rare to co across such a good deal, so don’t be so picky," he replied.

"Ah, but even if I’m dealing with a simp, I’m not just anyone’s for the taking, okay?" Ying Man complained.

"I may not be Chen Jiahuan, but I’m not just any woman either, I have a combined total of 180,000 fans on Netease Cloud Music and QQ Music, I can’t sing songs that are too deaning," she declared.

"You have hundreds of thousands of fans on QQ Music and Netease Cloud?" Che Haishen was stupefied once more, "Why haven’t you ntioned this before?"

"Oh, well, I think it was because of reasons like ’why should I talk about my stuff with soone who couldn’t care less about , he won’t listen anyway,’" Ying Man said.

Che Haishen felt a bit embarrassed when he heard this and after a mont, he finally said, "Just listen to the song first."

"Sure," Ying Man replied.

Che Haishen then played "Oh, Please Accept This Rose of Love" for Ying Man and also handed her the lyrics.

Ying Man listened to it twice and then humd along with the lyrics before nodding, "This song is interesting, quite retro. What’s the instrunt used here, is it the bagpipes, trumpet, and harp?"

"It’s a Layakin, because the client wants a dieval the."

"A dieval the? Okay, that’s at least fresh. The internet likes all sorts of ssy stuff, but I feel like it’s still missing a bit of a wow factor."

"What wow factor?"

"I don’t know, you’re the producer, I’m just speaking my mind, but I can be the main vocalist, as long as you don’t find my voice weird. Also, what about the client, will they agree?"

When he heard this, Che Haishen’s heart tightened; indeed, using such a distinctive main vocalist was risky, and not everyone could accept it.

Especially the client, if they didn’t like it, it would be difficult.

However, having interacted with Li Yu several tis, he felt that the person on the other side was quite reasonable, and they had only made so suggestions without interfering too much with his work.

So with a nervous heart, Che Haishen contacted Li Yu, briefing him on the situation here.

It wasn’t until 5:05 PM that Li Yu replied to his ssage, not only agreeing to the choice of the lead singer but also expressing a hope to et Ying Man when ti permitted to discuss the possibility of further cooperation.

From then on, Che Haishen’s heart finally settled back in his stomach and he started pulling Ying Man to record the vocals.

After spending two more days on mixing, he delivered the finished product to Bratis Culture Communication Co., Ltd.

This ti, Che Haishen went personally, also bringing along Ying Man, with the eting scheduled for nine in the morning.

But when Che Haishen arrived, he found that seemingly half of the employees at Bratis Culture Communication Co., Ltd. hadn’t yet co to work.

Zhang Yanlin, who had previously hosted them, had just arrived, though Li Yu was indeed in the office.

After listening twice, Li Yu closed his eyes, lost in thought.

About half a minute later, he opened his eyes again, "The tune and the performance are fine, but the lyrics sound a bit odd after being translated into Chinese. What if we don’t translate this part? Or we could just put the translation below in the text, and the singing remains in the foreign language. How does that sound?"
