Traveling from the western region to the Royal Capital took at least two months.

And Ireya had to head out even earlier, planning to et the Emperor to clear up any misunderstandings, so she needed to leave sooner.

Thus, the ti she had left to prepare was less than a month.

When the Lady left, Li Yu, of course, would follow her, along with the Pet Egg around her neck, so he had to use this remaining ti to arrange everything regarding the Double Rest Sect.

Additionally, before the deadline, five candidates successively sent their investigation results to Li Yu.

The quickest was He Zhenyu, although his report was only a page and a half long.

It contained Gu Qian’s na, birth date, residential address, family relationships, previous employers, and so forth—mostly fairly common personal information.

The only thing worthy of praise was the speed; He Zhenyu flew to G city the first afternoon and had sent in his report by the following afternoon, then took a flight back in the evening.

Out of his 2000 yuan budget, he only spent six hundred, surprisingly leaving fourteen hundred unspent.

What boss wouldn’t like such an employee?

He Zhenyu confidently submitted his investigative report, thinking he could directly prepare to join the company.

However, Li Yu just took his report and told him, "Well done, I will notify you if there’s any news," and left it at that.

The second to submit a report was Zhang Hai, which took him a full two days. Zhang Hai’s report was quite interesting and completely different in style from He Zhenyu’s, without that structured format.

It was more like a thed essay, and the topic was "My Sister."

Written from a younger brother’s perspective, it vividly depicted how he saw his sister.

The strength was its authenticity, or rather, its biased authenticity, like how the author ntioned several tis that his sister was fierce, storming to the toolbox for a wrench—specifically a 22mm one—and occasionally a hydraulic plier.

His writing exuded fear of his sister and also recorded many little details that outsiders might hardly know.

Its weakness was its disorganization without a clear focus, several typos, and the text mainly describing family relations without ntioning Gu Qian’s school or professional life at all.

After reading it, Li Yu asked Zhang Yanlin, "Did Zhang Hai track down Gu Qian’s younger brother?"

"That’s what he told when I called to understand the situation."

"Did he put that kid in a difficult position?"

"No, Zhang Hai said he took Gu Qian’s brother to play video gas for a day and even helped deal with so older students who had bullied him at school. The kid told him everything he knew."

Zhang Yanlin said, "I later called the video ga arcade’s owner to double-check, and it was pretty much as Zhang Hai described."

"Mm."

The third to send in a report was Liu Yuchen, and his was much more professional, having both the basic information like He Zhenyu’s and so exclusive insights he had uncovered.

These included the emotional entanglents between Gu Qian and her forr boyfriend and a civil case Gu Qian was involved in three and a half years ago, but due to the limited ti for investigation, these pieces of information were just briefly ntioned.

Liu Yuchen hadn’t been able to delve deeper.

Next was Ma Yuhan, who submitted her investigative report right on the deadline; the first part of her content was very detailed and it was evident that Ma Yuhan wasn’t rely copying from Gu Qian’s resu.

She had personally verified every piece of information, reaching out to Gu Qian’s colleagues and relatives, which made her report the most accurate among all.

But the problem was her misjudgnt of ti, or perhaps her detail-oriented work style inevitably consud more ti; three days were clearly not enough for her to complete the investigation.

So besides a perfect beginning, her report seed rushed towards the end, even showing signs of panic as the deadline approached.

As for Hao Xiaoxiao, the deadline had passed yet she hadn’t submitted her investigative report.

Thus, Li Yu initially decided to eliminate her, favoring Liu Yuchen out of the remaining four, as he was the strongest candidate.

But Liu Yuchen was probably just using Bratis Culture Communication Co., Ltd., as a stepping stone or a transition.

When Zhang Yanlin learned that Liu Yuchen had perford the best in the interview, he did so additional investigation on him in the past two days.

He discovered that Liu Yuchen had been planning to start his own company over the years.

Li Yu wasn’t averse to this; after all, the relationship between a company and its employees is a mutual choice, serving each other’s needs.

In an ordinary company, as long as Liu Yuchen worked well during his tenure, both sides wouldn’t lose out; however, the problem was that Li Yu’s company was sowhat special.

To avoid trouble for both the company and Liu Yuchen, Li Yu preferred to hire soone else.

Although Ma Yuhan’s investigation performance this ti was diocre, it was within Li Yu’s expectations; after all, this wasn’t her usual pace of work.

Given more ti, she should still be able to complete her tasks flawlessly and, with a little training, quickly beco capable of handling responsibilities on her own.

Zhang Hai was also not bad, but he was more like a contingency plan, effective only under certain conditions and with unstable results.

He could be useful later, but for the initial phase, Ma Yuhan was a better fit.

Li Yu had made up his mind and was about to have Zhang Yanlin notify Ma Yuhan to co over and sign the contract when he unexpectedly received a call from Xu ngyuan.

"You didn’t go there, that’s great, otherwise we’d have to delay resolving this issue until tomorrow."

"What issue?"

"You have an employee here, but according to regulations, given her rank, she shouldn’t be at the company headquarters."

"My employee?"

"Hao Xiaoxiao, does that na ring any bells?"

"...."

"I’ve had her wait in the conference room, but she seems to be getting impatient and is currently trying to hack into the company’s system using the laptop I left there."

"I asked a colleague from the Equipnt Departnt who knows about computers. He said Hao Xiaoxiao’s technique has a certain rugged, primitive beauty. Did you ask her to do this?"

"No."

"So she lied to . She isn’t the new employee you decided to hire, in that case, I’ll have soone from the Public Relations Departnt handle it."

"What do you plan to do with her?"

"First, we need to know how much she knows about the company’s secrets before we can decide which level of contingency plan to initiate, but you can rest assured, the company always operates legally and won’t harm her life."

"Just her life isn’t endangered, can we hold off on notifying the Public Relations Departnt? Let talk to her first," Li Yu said.

"Of course, she’s having fun with my laptop at the mont; you coming later won’t be a problem," Ms. HR said.

"I’ll be there soon."
