Li Yu did not know that in just a short while, Niu Xiangui had already thought so far ahead.
Seeing the latter suddenly fired up, he assud it was the encouragent from the gar shop that had taken effect, and after urging him a few words, he also reminded Niu Xiangui to work hard at his job and studies, but not to neglect rest, and to rember not to violate the precepts of the Double Rest Sect.
Niu Xiangui, a big Half-Beast, actually had tears welled up in his tiger eyes, insisting on letting Li Yu take the two fish he had caught back for an extra al.
Li Yu did not refuse, even though the fish were originally the fine he had paid for Niu Xiangui.
After Niu Xiangui gave the fish away, he suddenly rembered another matter.
"Right, Prophet rlin, have you been looking for new reincarnators recently?"
"Hmm, do you have soone to recomnd?" Li Yu asked.
He rembered that previously Niu Xiangui had volunteered, saying he would help with promotion in the hospital, but until his death, he had not ntioned this matter again.
Li Yu had thought that he was not making progress, so he had not asked further, but now Niu Xiangui was bringing it up again.
"There actually is one," Niu Xiangui said, scratching his head, "but at that ti I had eyes but failed to see Mount Tai, and I could not be sure if you were truly planning to take to another world, or just pretending and up to sothing else. So, I made a pact with that guy."
"What pact?" Li Yu asked.
"I made a pact with him for a passphrase, one that only the two of us would know. If I really managed to reincarnate over here, I would tell you that passphrase, so you could use the shortest ti to convince him to believe you."
"You guys were quite cautious, eh?"
"Actually, when we made this pact, it was more of a joke, and I never thought I’d really transmigrate," Niu Xiangui said embarrassedly.
"Do you have that guy’s general information and contact thod?"
"Oh oh oh, yes, I do."
"I rember his phone number, as for his general situation... His na is Lu Weijia, about three years younger than , male, suffering from uremia. When I died, he probably had less than a month to live, so it would be best if you find him quickly."
"No need to worry," Li Yu said, "the flow of ti here is different from there. According to Earth’s tiline, your death was only three days ago, so I should have plenty of ti to get in touch with him."
"That’s good. I initially t him on the internet, since we both had terminal illnesses, we started chatting. Later, we ended up in the sa hospital and got to know each other better as ti went by."
"What does he do?"
"Lu Weijia is an internet influencer, and he has quite a few followers, already over 100k. Just the week before I died, I wonder if he received his little TV award or not."
".........."
Seeing Li Yu show hesitation, Niu Xiangui’s heart sank slightly, then he tentatively asked, "Do you think he has too few followers?"
"No, it’s not about the number of followers. Which category of influencer is he?"
Li Yu was genuinely concerned that Niu Xiangui might say he was an influencer in electronic sports.
After all, a programr like Li Yu could manage to make use of in Green Field, but as for League of Legends and Honor of Kings strears, Li Yu really did not know what to do with them.
He couldn’t possibly set up an esports team on the Bratis Continent for them.
Fortunately, Niu Xiangui’s subsequent answer eased Li Yu’s mind a bit, "Lu Weijia is an influencer in the gourt food category."
"Does he cook himself, or does he explore restaurants?"
"He’s not either of those; he makes those... kichiku-style videos," Niu Xiangui’s voice grew quieter and quieter.
Li Yu fell silent again because he couldn’t imagine how gourt food and kichiku could possibly be combined. It felt like Lu Weijia had just invented an entirely new genre out of thin air.
That soone could have a hundred thousand followers doing this kind of thing made everyone present feel sowhat responsible.
Just as Li Yu was about to politely decline, he heard Niu Xiangui add, "Oh right, I forgot that he ntioned during one of our chats, he did his graduate studies in mineral exploration and prospecting."
"Alright, I’ll et with him. If there’s no issue with his character, I’ll reincarnate him over as well," Li Yu promised on the spot.
While happy for his friend, Niu Xiangui couldn’t help but feel a little sour. Back in the day, he had been very proactive, chasing Li Yu down to the hospital and volunteering himself, yet he felt Li Yu was still sowhat hesitant.
This ti, however, Li Yu had agreed very readily to Lu Weijia.
Niu Xiangui knew it was not because of Lu Weijia’s status as an ’up master’ but because of his niche major—mineral exploration and prospecting.
You have to understand that this field of study is nowhere near as hot as his own undergraduate major, computer science and technology. Yet, on the Bratis Continent, the popularity levels between the two seed to have been completely reversed.
Li Yu then asked Niu Xiangui for more detailed information about Lu Weijia, including his Bilibili account.
After work, Li Yu went to check out a few videos.
The result... was indescribable.
Lu Weijia’s most viewed video was of him eating noodles: cooking the noodles himself, eating them, and then reviewing the experience.
It was a pretty standard process, but Lu Weijia had edited it into bits and pieces, accompanied by dynamic music and rhythm, reassembled together.
The climax of the video was Lu Weijia reversing the footage of him eating, with more and more noodles piling up in the bowl as he ’un-ate’ them.
Li Yu then browsed through the barrage of comnts above the video and the ssages below, which contained all sorts of remarks.
The top-rated comnt was, "Having watched kichiku videos for so many years, he’s the first ’up master’ I’ve seen using himself as material. Not bad, keep it up, but you’ll soon realize this path leads nowhere."
Li Yu closed that video and clicked on the next one.
After a quarter of an hour, he decided to take a stroll through the zhai dance section to recover so sanity.
The next day at work, Li Yu shared Lu Weijia’s videos with Zhang Yanlin.
After watching, Zhang Yanlin replied, "He seems like a very interesting person."
"We have to recruit him," Li Yu said. "People with a major in mineral exploration and prospecting are rare to co by, let alone ones about to pass away."
"I’ll contact him and ask first."
"Yeah."
Lu Weijia had obviously been brought up to speed by Niu Xiangui about Li Yu and Zhang Yanlin, so he wasn’t too surprised when he received the phone call. He not only agreed to et with them but also suggested a small restaurant near the hospital.
Li Yu took a taxi to pick up Zhang Yanlin first, then rushed to the eting place.
The 1.2 million budgeted for renovation, under Zhang Yanlin’s planning, cost less than 800,000. The office was nearly done, leaving them with an extra 400,000. Li Yu was considering whether to get another car for the departnt.
That way, whether it was eting soone or Zhang Yanlin conducting background checks, it would be more convenient.
