Dilina! You... are... my... goddess!
So fragrant, so incredibly fragrant.
The attributes of the Crocodile King's Wristguard are absolutely explosive, even among legendary-grade equipnt. First, the double critical strike attribute directly compensates for Ye Bai's weakness in critical hits compared to other interstellar players.
Secondly, there are two special effects. The "Blessing of Scales" damage immunity, though only triggered when taking over 1000 points of damage, is a lifesaver for Ye Bai, who is about to venture into the advanced map of the Divine Realm.
At the sa ti, the immunity to critical strikes doesn’t an complete immunity to critical damage. Instead, when a critical strike is about to occur, it reduces it to normal damage. This makes it a PK (player-killing) god-tier item, effectively neutralizing the skills of interstellar players who rely on landing critical hits with every move.
The "Essence Blood Protection" is clearly a replication of the Crocodile King BOSS's final life-saving skill. Even with a 20-minute cooldown, it’s a powerful survival tool in critical monts.
After all, people aren’t fools. Surviving that crucial mont buys ti to use healing potions.
Of course, the final requirent for equipping it is a bit of a head-scratcher—
The condition "Defeat the Striped Crocodile King" ans only Ye Bai can wear this wristguard. Turning the BOSS into equipnt and restricting it to the killer—doesn’t that make the Crocodile King BOSS seem a bit tragic? It’s like killing soone and then taking care of their burial, huh?
Snapping out of the awe of acquiring such divine gear, Ye Bai was about to shower Dilina with a stream of passionate complints.
But Dilina, seemingly anticipating her reaction, rubbed her forehead and cut her off: "I know, no need to praise …"
She had been so overwheld by Ye Bai’s flattery before that she ended up unknowingly racking up a pile of debts for this girl. Now, she was even working for her before completing the commission.
"This wristguard is the pinnacle of my career. If you can bring back the fabric of the Weaving Clan as promised, that would be the greatest reward for ."
"Got it, leave it to !"
Ye Bai, having already gained so much, didn’t push her luck further and quickly agreed. She gleefully equipped the wristguard, bid farewell to Dilina, and went to find Carrie to give her so instructions.
At this stage, most of the critical matters in the territory had been handled, and personnel had been assigned to their respective roles. There were no idle hands left.
The security of a territory is directly tied to the number of unemployed individuals. Ye Bai had been maintaining a rapid developnt pace, always in need of more people rather than having too many. With the new technology introduced, a batch of new job positions had been created, keeping happiness and security issues at bay.
So, when the territory upgrades to a town next month and the population increases, luxury demands and security concerns would beco things to consider.
To prevent any unexpected delays during her trip to the Divine Realm, Ye Bai gave Carrie a rough idea of how to allocate the next wave of refugees.
Of course, the next group of refugees wouldn’t arrive for another 25 in-ga days. Ye Bai was confident she’d make it back in ti. The only thing worth worrying about was the wandering rchant’s second visit in about ten days. Missing that would be a sha.
After briefing Carrie, Ye Bai headed alone to the location of the Well of Origin.
The translucent well stood quietly, exuding an air of mystery.
Ye Bai swallowed hard, suppressing her nervousness, and approached the well.
[Use the Well of Origin? Current energy: 100/100]
Energy?
Seeing this attribute, Ye Bai was montarily stunned but quickly realized it was likely because this Well of Origin wasn’t system-generated like in the expansion but player-built, hence the energy limit.
Her thoughts then uncontrollably wandered—the naturally occurring Well of Origin in the expansion only allowed the top 100 players to pass through. Wasn’t that also a form of energy restriction?
Shaking her head, she decided overthinking was pointless. She’d just see what happens when she uses it.
[Yes]
Upon confirmation, a ball of light erged from the Well of Origin, wrapping around Ye Bai like a cocoon before plunging into the well with her.
The sensation of traveling through space hit her, sowhat similar to logging into the vast universe from the star network, but this ti it felt more intense and prolonged.
Ye Bai felt as though she had lost her body, her soul compressed and twisted. The swirling lights and shadows around her made her unbearably dizzy, and she eventually succumbed to the darkness…
…
It felt like a brief but deep sleep. Ye Bai didn’t know how long she had been subrged in darkness—it could have been a day, or just a mont.
In her dazed state, she felt a pair of eyes watching her.
"Plop, plop…"
Accompanied by strange sounds, Ye Bai was awakened by a wet sensation on her cheek.
"Ah!"
Ye Bai’s eyes snapped open, only to be t with a furry white snout. Startled, she scrambled back with extraordinary speed, rolling and crawling three ters away.
Once she put so distance between them, Ye Bai turned to see that the furry snout belonged to a grayish-white, dium-sized adult donkey.
…A donkey?
"Hee-haw! Hee-haw!"
Seeing Ye Bai awake, the donkey opened its mouth and let out a series of incomprehensible brays. But with its oddly human-like expression, Ye Bai couldn’t help but feel the donkey was mocking her.
Ye Bai wiped her face again—it turned out this donkey had been licking her. At least its breath wasn’t foul.
Realizing it was just a donkey, her racing heart gradually cald. She rubbed her slightly dizzy head… Wait, did this donkey kick her head earlier?
"Hee-haw?"
Ye Bai gave the donkey a suspicious look, and it returned one of equal confusion.
"…" After a mont of staring, Ye Bai decided to ignore the creature for now and shifted her gaze to survey the surroundings.
It was dayti, but the sky was gray and hazy, as if shrouded in smog.
Ye Bai found herself on a partially barren grassy slope. The view wasn’t great, but she could make out so scattered white boulders in the distance.
Opening the map, she was t with the familiar fog of war, with only a small area around her revealed.
From this, Ye Bai could roughly deduce that she had arrived in the Divine Realm, though she had no idea where exactly.
The Divine Realm was part of the expansion content, and detailed maps hadn’t been created in her mory. Even as the ga’s lead designer and producer, she only knew that the Divine Realm was divided by the territories of various biological races.
And the only living creature nearby was this seemingly extraordinary donkey that could apparently look down on people (?)
The donkey had no saddle or reins, looking like a wild donkey.
But wild donkeys are usually herd animals—why was this one alone here, and so unafraid of humans?
Combined with the environnt, it was hard to draw any conclusions. She’d need to explore further.
Then, Ye Bai looked down at herself. Her clothes were still damp with what seed like illusory water droplets. As she focused, the droplets detached from her body and coalesced into an apple-sized "water drop" in her palm.
With a thought, she stored it in her inventory.
[Well of Origin Water Drop]
Grade: Legendary
Bound to: Bai Ye
Duration: 10 seconds
Usage Restriction: Cannot be interrupted
Effect: Leave a mark and return to the Well of Origin
Even after being stored in the backpack, the Origin Water Drop does not occupy a backpack slot. It can be used at any location in the divine realm, and after use, it allows the user to return to the Well of Origin. However, its use cannot be interrupted mid-process, much like how one cannot log out during combat. Therefore, it is unlikely to be used as a ans to escape battle.
Additionally, it serves as a fixed coordinate or save point within the divine realm. After the first random entry into the divine realm, players will return to the location where they last used the Origin Water Drop upon subsequent entries.
Ye Bai had initially intended to simply retrieve the water drop, but the next mont, as she glanced through the items in her backpack, her expression suddenly changed.
She rembered clearly what she had packed before coming here, but now, one of the items in her backpack was missing.
It was one of the food supplies she had brought—bread.
Uncertain of how many days she would spend in the divine realm, Ye Bai had prepared thoroughly before setting out, bringing along a set of 20 loaves of bread, the current staple food produced in her territory.
Since the items in Ye Bai’s backpack were stored in sets, she imdiately noticed that the bread count had dropped from 20 to 18, aning two were missing.
Realizing this, Ye Bai shot a horrified look at the donkey standing in front of her.
“Hee-haw?”
The donkey smacked its lips and stared back at her.
Was this creature responsible?
Ye Bai wasn’t entirely sure, so she took out another loaf of bread from her backpack, held it in her hand, and looked at the donkey.
“Hee-haw!”
The donkey let out a delighted bray, took two quick steps forward, and before Ye Bai could react, snatched the bread from her hand, swallowed it in one gulp, and chewed it down until it disappeared.
Well, the mystery was solved. The two missing loaves of bread had undoubtedly been stolen by this creature.
But… but… this was sothing from her spatial backpack!
Ye Bai was both shocked and furious as she watched the donkey, now finished eating, open its mouth again, asking for more.
She took a deep breath, then reached out and touched the donkey’s head.
The soft, furry texture t her hand, and the donkey didn’t resist, instead nudging its white muzzle toward her, hinting that it wanted more.
Ye Bai continued to move her hand down, first to its neck, then to its back, stepping around to the rear of the donkey and placing both hands on it.
By now, the donkey finally sensed sothing was wrong, but it was too late. With a burst of strength and the quadruple jump effect of her Light Feather set, Ye Bai effortlessly leaped onto the donkey’s back and mounted it.
“Hee-haw! Hee-haw!!!”
The donkey imdiately beca agitated, its fur bristling as it spun and jumped in place, trying desperately to throw Ye Bai off.
Ye Bai clung tightly to the donkey’s neck and laughed wickedly. “You stole my food, and now you think you can run away? Be a good little mount for !”
