Being late at night, the prayer hall beca less populated with Brandel’s departure, leaving only a few temple knights on guard.
But it wasn’t long before…
Suddenly, Archbishop Goz turned around, fixing his gaze on a corner of the prayer hall, his brows knitted even tighter.
“Who’s there?”
“You truly have a keen sense, Archbishop—so sharp. However, this place really makes my skin crawl, utterly uncomfortable!” Along with the deep voice that spoke, a shadowy figure also erged.
“Who!” Four temple knights with looks of surprise and anger imdiately drew their longswords and charged towards the shadow.
But the next second, four giant hands made of black mist appeared out of nowhere, grabbing each knight as easily as if they were re chicks!
In an instant, the knights were suspended in mid-air, wrapped by the imnse hands of black mist, their faces turned red as they struggled fiercely…
“I had wanted to have a longer chat with you, but I apologize, Your Excellency Archbishop, we are pressed for ti. So, I’ll have to hastily accompany you to et your goddess,” the shadow mocked.
At that mont, Archbishop Goz glanced to his left only to see another person in a black robe appear—he was the one who had deployed the shadowy hands.
Had Rein been at the scene, he would have recognized at first glance that this was Freeman of the Cult of the Black Fla.
And the other, naturally, followed suit.
“Gentlen, are you not taking the Church of the Goddess too lightly?”
With that, Archbishop Goz chanted a brief incantation!
Then, lifting his finger, he shot out four pale blue beams of light in quick succession, imdiately shattering the Shadow Hands that trapped the temple knights.

Blue light surged at his position, and he was enveloped in an egg-shaped energy shield.
“Second Order Divine Arts ‘Blessing Shield’? Quite botherso indeed,” Freeman remarked, exchanging a glance with Bergis as they both unleashed a wave of ‘Shadow Blast’ at Archbishop Goz.
At once, two thick beams of black energy collided fiercely with the Archbishop’s Divine Arts!
Although Freeman and his companion were strong, defeating Archbishop Goz, a man even more powerful than them, within the temple’s prayer hall, was beyond their reach.
Their combined efforts rely caused the blue shield around Archbishop Goz to waver slightly before steadying once more.
Suddenly, a black spiral column of light shot across the hall!
Concentrating on his battle with Freeman and Bergis, two high-ranking mbers of the Cult of the Black Fla, Archbishop Goz felt a sharp pain in his chest!
Looking down, his eyes revealed an expression of disbelief.
A fist-sized hole had been pierced through the heart of his chest by so object.
Then Exeter stepped forward with a smile, his deanor calm, and said, “I apologize, Archbishop Goz.”
“The witchcraft you just used was…” the pale-faced Archbishop Goz began.
“Yes, it was the Third Order Shadow Arts ‘Shadow Light Cannon,'” Exeter nodded.
Naturally, the ability to break through Second Order Divine Arts required an even higher order of power.
Before advancing to a Crystallization Wizard, Exeter couldn’t have possibly managed to assassinate Archbishop Goz of the Church of the Goddess—even by a surprise attack.
But becoming a Crystallization Wizard changed everything.
His sneak attack using the Third Order solitary witchcraft had a lethal effect. Of course, the effect of the distraction by Freeman and his companion was indispensable.
The next second!
Archbishop Goz’s body began to decay, and dark energy quickly spread throughout him. His figure swayed, and he could no longer keep himself upright, falling down!
“Master, your ‘Shadow Light Cannon’ is truly formidable,” praised Bergis, coming forward with a tily smile.
“Alright, quickly destroy the defensive matrix, and let’s get out of here,” Exeter urged.

The massive city of Mingster, to defend against various enemies, had established multiple defense matrices, and the core of the matrix against malevolent energies was placed inside the divine temple.
