Since Lagaray had left, Rein hadn't craved at for many days.
At this mont, slling the mature scent of a woman emanating from Lady Crowley, the baroness, and catching sight of vast expanses of milky white skin at her neck, Rein felt a surge of heat rise from his lower abdon, imdiately making his mouth dry and tongue parched.
"Oh my!" The baroness suddenly let out a low exclamation as sothing seed to poke her abdon.
The next second, the beautiful matron released Rein, her eyes cast downward in a slightly shy manner.
She gently brushed away the strands of hair falling beside her ear, saying, "Lord Reine, I'm truly so embarrassed, I was just too overjoyed just now, please forgive my lapse in composure."
Rein also coughed, to mask his embarrassnt.
If he had known, he would have worn his plate armor before coming out... now, clad only in a waistcoat and unable to conceal anything...
It was then Rein took a proper look at Lady Crowley standing before him.
The noblewoman was dressed in an elegant off-the-shoulder light purple gown adorned with lace fringes. Her white fur shawl had been set aside, perhaps due to the warmth inside the carriage.
Because the shawl was not worn, a large expanse of white, smooth skin at the neck was exposed, and a golden brooch barely managed to fix the towering bodice of the gown in place.
It offered a silent seduction!
A woman's skin is very sensitive.
The beautiful matron imdiately felt that Lord Rein opposite her was eyeing certain parts of her body, but she didn't shy away, instead she subtly straightened her slender waist.
That was too much for Rein to take!
Additionally, he confird one thing—that "small branches bear large fruits" did indeed exist.
The atmosphere inside the carriage suddenly took on an improper vibe.
If Jenny hadn't been there, perhaps...
At that mont, Jenny glanced at her mother before looking down at Rein's waist, promptly turning her head to stare outside the window as her cheeks reddened.
Despite this, Rein managed to calm the heat stirring within him and, after a brief thought, said, "Madam, let's arrange for people to go and retrieve the goods that rightly belong to the Crowley family."
"Eh... right now? Okay, I'll arrange it imdiately…" Lady Crowley raised her head to look at Rein, then quickly averted her gaze, saying.
After spending half the day, Rein led several trusted individuals from the Crowley household to a concealed location to retrieve the Bordeaux vintage, and while there, also moved the other spoils of war that belonged to him.
When Rein climbed back into the carriage, he saw the voluptuous Lady Crowley, who seed more radiant than in the morning due to her affairs being settled, her lovely face was beaming.
"Lord Reine, I'm truly so grateful to you. If it weren't for you..."
Rein waved his hand, cutting off what she was about to say with a smile, "I am the guardian knight of the Crowley family, madam. You are being too formal."
"Oh yes, madam," Rein continued, "it just so happens I have a matter that I may need to consult with you on."
"Lord Reine, I dare not presu to teach, but please, do tell," Lady Crowley hastened to say, waving her hand.
"It's like this, I wanted to ask about the design of noble emblems—is there so sort of customary regulation? A couple of days ago, I was just made a baron of the empire, so..."
"What!" Two exclamations interrupted Rein's following words.
Lady Crowley and Jenny both had their eyes wide open, their expressions incredulous as they gazed at Rein.
Rein had beco a baron?
How could that be?
How could it happen so quickly!
A myriad of questions suddenly flooded the minds of the two won.
"Lord Reine, did you say... you're a baron now?" Lady Crowley was the first to recover and imdiately asked, not minding whether it was presumptuous or not.
"Yes, a couple of days ago, I participated in the nobility ennoblent examination in Mingster Province and earned a distinguished evaluation, so I was granted the title of baron," Rein nodded and explained succinctly.
Lady Crowley nodded in understanding, "That makes sense! But Lord Reine, you really are remarkable. I heard that the passing rate for the ennoblent exam is less than half, and yet you managed to earn a distinguished evaluation, it's truly impressive."
Listening to the beautiful woman's praise, Rein still felt quite pleased inside.
"Regarding the emblem design, you really shouldn't worry too much. In my opinion, baron is certainly not your final destination. As a title changes, one can redesign a family emblem, which is permitted by the empire."
"So, you just need to tell which symbols you like, and I can help you with so suggestions."
"I see," Rein nodded.
Of course, baron was not his end goal. Knowing that he could change the family emblem as his title elevated, that made things much easier.
Rein then shared the rough idea he had in mind, crossing his arms as he spoke, "Could a greatsword and a two-handed warhamr be crossed over each other?"
"Certainly, the two weapons each signify a type of combat skill you're proficient in. The only concern is whether other nobles have already claid such an emblem. If it's taken, I suggest adding an additional symbol," the elegant woman detailed.
"Like water, fla, forest, or other such symbols," she added.
"Hmm, if it's a repeat, then just add a ring of flas around the edge of the two weapons," Rein gestured.
"That's a great idea," she comnted.
"By the way, Rein, now that you've earned the barony, the empire will arrange an estate for you. However, you'll have to take care of decorating it and hiring servants on your own. See, these miscellaneous affairs, would you like to prepare them for you first?"
