Capítulo 1223: Chapter 413: Teleportation and Mutation_2
Inside the luxurious banquet hall.
The long dining table was almost overflowing with a sumptuous array of food, but the stream of maids carrying various delicacies showed no sign of stopping.
At the table sat only two people, the ever-eating first disciple of the Tide Sword Saint, Lambert, and the Duke of Drum who smiled from the main seat.
Half an hour later.
“Lord Lambert, after observing the preliminary test, do you have confidence?” It was only after the other had eaten and drunk their fill that the Duke of Drum spoke.
“A very fine opponent. Sparring with him should help reach the level of my teacher.” The robust Lambert wiped his mouth with a white napkin and said.
“Then I am relieved.” The Duke of Drum smiled.
He naturally understood the underlying ssage in Lambert’s words.
….
The next morning.
Early in the morning, the competent Mada Olena accompanied Major General Tatia to the Rein Mansion.
Inside the study.
“Good morning, Lord Rein.” Olena wore a full smile as she spoke.
She had already heard that Lord Rein had passed the preliminary test for the Dragon Knight.
“Lord Rein, congratulations on successfully passing the Dragon Knight selection’s preliminary test.” The first thing Major General Tatia said upon seeing Rein was to offer her congratulations.
“Thank you, Lord Tatia, Olena, please sit.” Rein smiled.
After so small talk, Tatia sat up straight, her well-tailored uniform perfectly accentuating her feminine curves, and said, “Lord Rein, I have co this ti to hand over the special communication device used within the Secret Realm to you.”
Saying this, Tatia opened a dark wooden box she carried with her and took out a thin crystal emitting a faint Witchcraft Light, handing it to Rein.
Rein raised an eyebrow, imdiately took it, and inspected it closely.
The thin crystal was about the size of a cell phone from his past life, made entirely of a transparent-type crystal, with strange engravings on both the front and back, resembling circuit boards from his past life upon a cursory glance.
“The thod of using this communication device is quite simple. When in the Secret Realm, you only need to infuse a wisp of spiritual power to transmit ssages.”
After a brief thought, Rein asked, “Transmit ssages?”
“Is it to transmit ssages with other mission participants or with the command headquarters?”
Tatia appeared slightly apologetic and said, “I’m sorry, Lord Rein, I didn’t make it clear earlier. The device’s communication is limited to two-way ssaging between you and the command headquarters. As for communication among the operatives, that is not possible.”
“Even in extre situations, this special communication device has a one-way communication function. That is to say, even in spatial turbulence, the command headquarters at the Star Mage’s Platform can send ssages to you one-way.”
Only able to communicate with the command headquarters?
Logically, if a group shares a common mission goal, shouldn’t they be able to communicate with each other for efficiency?
Could it be to avoid certain risks?
Although Rein was sowhat puzzled, he didn’t inquire further but nodded and said, “I understand.”
“Secondly, this device has another function, which is positioning. Within the Secret Realm, all operatives can check whether the three ‘rift’ closers have reached the designated positions and have been activated.”
“Can it locate others?” Rein asked again.
“No, it cannot.” Tatia shook her head and said.
“Everyone’s location will only be displayed in the command hall at the Star Mage Platform.”
“This is also to prevent accidents from occurring. For instance, if there was a spy among the operatives…” Tatia added a sentence but stopped there.
“Understood.” Rein nodded and said.
Indeed, there was a reason behind this.
It was a rather clever arrangent indeed.
The locations of all operatives would only be displayed in the command hall of the Star Mage Platform, thus avoiding situations where an individual infiltrated by a cult or other organization might intentionally sabotage the mission.
anwhile, coordinated command from the hall would allow for proper personnel deploynt, preventing conflicts between different departntal teams.
“Then what is my primary mission this ti?” Rein asked, looking at Tatia.
“Currently, you do not have a specific task assigned. You are rely a reserve personnel for this operation.” Tatia smiled and said.
Hmm?
Tatia’s words clearly left Rein stunned.
No mission assignnt?
Well… that’s fine.
“However, as a candidate, simply participating in the retest is itself a task during the process. At that ti, you can complete the assessnt tasks in the Secret Realm.”
“Understood.” Rein nodded.
“By the way, Lord Rein, there’s another matter you should be cautious about.” Tatia seed to think of sothing, her expression becoming serious, and said.
“That is regarding so creatures within the Secret Realm. Due to the invasion of Void Beasts, so mutations may have occurred. So, the information you read last ti is only for reference.”
“Alright, I understand.” Rein imdiately recalled the mory crystal regarding the Secret Realm situation that General Augustus had given him last ti.
The crystal contained an introduction to the Dragon Valley Secret Realm.
Dragon Valley, as the na implies, its terrain roughly resembles a giant circular valley.
Surrounding the valley is a ring of majestic mountain ranges, and beyond that, there are various Void turbulences.
The area encircled by those mountain ranges is what is truly considered Dragon Valley, which hosts diverse regions and vegetation, including swamps, adows, forests, deserts, and variously tempered vegetation and Fierce Species.
Many Fierce Species are unique to the Secret Realm, possessing varied abilities, and even Legendary Strongn need to approach with caution when dealing with them.
