Chapter 69: Chapter 69: Vivian’s Letter

After Duke finished the Magic Basic Theory class, he had a basic approach and direction for learning magic.

A day’s course couldn’t cover much content, but it allowed Duke to grasp the contents of the Magic Basic Theory more quickly.

Once he thoroughly understood this set of content, self-learning other magic would be much easier, at least with a basic thodology and theoretical foundation.

After Duke mastered the Wizard’s Mark, the first person he wanted to contact was naturally Vivian.

However, if you want to record another wizard’s mark, it must be exchanged face-to-face, which is a bit troubleso.

Duke thought about it and decided to write a letter to the Thorn Holy Tower to inform Vivian of this matter.

There is a place on Academy Island to send and receive letters; they don’t deliver letters, so you need to inquire if there is any for you.

After returning to the dormitory, Duke took out a quill pen and wrote a letter, talking about so recent situations, overall quite brief.

When he arrived at the island’s mail reception, he spent a few silver coins to send the letter out, and casually asked if there was any mail for him, and to his surprise, there was.

The letter was from Vivian and had arrived a few days ago.

After verifying his identity with his Black Sail Badge, Duke took away the letter from the Thorn Holy Tower.

When he opened it back in his room, he found besides the letter, there was also a small black cube, purpose unknown.

Vivian had written this letter a few days earlier, still recounting so things after joining the Thorn Holy Tower.

After joining the Thorn Holy Tower, she directly beca Grace’s student.

Vivian only learned after reaching the Thorn Holy Tower that Grace is a Level 3 great wizard, extrely powerful, and holds a high position.

As Grace’s student, she naturally didn’t have to worry about resource issues.

But the pressure was imnse as Grace arranged extrely tight courses for her, with a long list of courses waiting for her to learn.

Vivian recently was under high-intensity study, learning from early morning to late at night, the intensity extrely high.

In the letter, Vivian ntioned that she had learned the Wizard’s Mark spell and left her Marking Engraving.

The Marking Engraving is a type of alchemy creation, used to store a Wizard’s Mark.

It was developed to facilitate the exchange of Wizard’s Marks among wizards; despite its small size, it isn’t cheap.

The market price for one Marking Engraving is over twenty Level 2 magic stones.

If not for Vivian ntioning it in the letter, Duke wouldn’t have known such a thing existed.

He then followed the instructions in the letter, using his Spiritual Power to activate the Marking Engraving, and subsequently, a mark was imported into his own Wizard’s Mark.

In Duke’s Wizard’s Mark, there appeared an additional mark, which was Vivian’s.

He tried sending a ssage over and received a response shortly after.

"Duke?" Vivian sensed a familiar aura from the Spiritual Power fluctuation within the ssage, "I thought the letter hadn’t been delivered, I’ve been waiting for days with no news."

"They don’t deliver letters on this side, I didn’t expect you to write to

so early," Duke said.

Vivian was holding a thick book walking down the road, heading to the classroom for a lesson, and replied, "I have a class soon, if the teacher finds out I’m distracted chatting with a Wizard’s Mark, I’m done for. Let’s talk tonight instead, be careful over there, I’ve been learning so things about Black Sail these days."

"Among the Wizard Apprentices over there, violence often occurs, the managent isn’t as strict as Thorn Holy Tower, be extra careful!"

Duke replied, "Mm-hmm, I understand."

These past days he had already felt it, Academy Island appeared calm on the surface, but was actually sowhat chaotic and disorderly.

Unless absolutely necessary, Duke wouldn’t even step out to avoid unnecessary trouble.

...

Five days later.

[Deep Blue Tide ditation Technique level up, Spiritual Power

0.5]

[Deep Blue Tide ditation Technique: LV2 (1/1500)]

[Spirit: 12.8]

Over this period of ditation Practice, Duke finally grinded the ditation Technique up to LV2, with the Skill Tree granting 0.5 Spiritual Power.

Originally, the Spiritual Power was 12.1, and during this period of ditation Practice, it had auto-increased by 0.1 point.

Additionally, there was 0.1 Spiritual Power from leveling up the Wizard’s Mark spell.

Ever since adding Vivian’s Wizard’s Mark, they would often chat at night, unknowingly boosting the proficiency.

Duke sensed the difficulty of wizard practice; after more than half a month of ditation Practice, his Spiritual Power had only increased by 0.1.

If not for the Skill Tree, achieving 15 points of Spiritual Power through ditation would probably take forever.

Moreover, like other attributes, the higher the level, the harder it is to improve Spiritual Power.

If one’s aptitude is insufficient, Spiritual Power might beco stagnant before reaching 15 points and be unable to improve further.

Duke glanced at the Skill Tree, and the ditation Technique’s branch was still in a green bud state; it’s unknown how many levels it takes to grow leaves.

For the subsequent half month, Duke was engrossed in devouring that Magic Basic Theory book, absorbing knowledge, and gradually laying the foundation for his knowledge system.

Every day, apart from reading and ditating, he would chat with Vivian at night to brush up the Wizard’s Mark proficiency.

Half a month later, Duke felt his grasp on the theory of basic magic was roughly solid and planned to start practicing, selecting one or two spells to learn.

He had discussed this matter with Vivian, who often shared her insights with him.

Duke had ntioned that he absorbed Water Elental Energy Particles very easily but hadn’t ntioned anything regarding his talent, only lightly touched on this aspect.

Upon learning this, Vivian quickly looked into it and even consulted teacher Grace.

The final conclusion was that Duke should study the "Basic Theory of Water Elent" book.

Though this book has "basic" in its title, its content is profoundly deep.

The Basic Theory of Water Elent systematically explained the various applications of water elents in magic, covering a variety of water magic, with extrely rich content.

If Duke could master the content of this book, he could even develop so water spells himself, designing water spells according to his needs.

However, achieving this level in a short ti might be difficult; in the early stages, being able to flexibly use so magic would already be good.

The book’s price is very high, requiring a full three Level 1 Magic Stones, which is over three hundred Level 2 magic stones.

Hearing this price made Duke dizzy; even selling himself might not fetch that much money.

Even buying a second-hand one requires at least over a hundred Level 2 magic stones, and he simply didn’t have that much money.

But Vivian solved this problem for him, sending over a second-hand "Basic Theory of Water Elent" which was on the way.

She didn’t even tell Duke about this, only ntioning it after sending it out.
