Chapter 528: Chapter 528: Operation

"Which legion have you joined?" Duke asked.

Simon replied, "The Seventh Legion."

Duke nodded. The Seventh Legion is quite good; at least the treatnt for ordinary Wizards is reasonable, and the requirents are not too strict.

"Since we’re all part of this mission, let’s act together from now on," Duke thought for a mont and said.

Acting together with Simon would also allow Duke to look after him within his capabilities.

The Void Insect Race is not easy to deal with, and there will undoubtedly be considerable risk.

Simon was rely a Level 1 Gaseous Mage, extrely weak in such an operation, and could easily perish if not careful.

Simon instantly understood Duke’s intention and nodded gratefully, "Okay."

He didn’t say much; the two were already very familiar with each other, so many things didn’t need to be spoken.

Not everyone is so kind-hearted to care for newcors. Just a glance at the others present reveals that they’re mostly standing in corners by themselves, uninterested in mingling.

Lauren looks about forty, with a stern face and eyes sharp as a hawk. He wore a deep blue robe with water drop-shaped runes slowly flowing at its hem.

Without extra words, his gaze swept across the room. Confirming everyone was present, he said in a deep voice, "I’m Lauren, commander of this operation. Now, let’s move out."

The order was concise and powerful, and everyone followed Lauren out of the hall in a line, reaching the simple dock at the island’s edge.

Facing the deep ocean, the Wizards each used their thods, ready for long-distance underwater journeying.

These Wizards differed in their techniques; so summoned ice crystal armor exuding chill, which was not only excellent for defense but also rapidly cooled the surrounding sea water, forming a buffer zone.

Others rode pre-prepared magic creatures shaped like dolphins that provided propulsion and partial protection. Still, others activated spells fixed on their robes, creating spiral water flow propellers around them.

Simon and a few Level 1 Mages used a more universal thod: Underwater Breathing bubbles.

They wrapped their heads in bubbles that slowly consud Magic Power, supplying air while overcoming so seawater resistance to move.

The slow pace of Magic Power consumption from the Underwater Breathing bubble posed no pressure or burden for Level 1 Mages, being simple to use.

Duke, without much flamboyant preparation, simply stepped onto the sea, standing on the water.

Suddenly, the sea beneath him surged violently, and a massive, blue-black shadow rapidly rose.

The next mont, an enormous winged snake, a hundred ters long with bizarre card-like wings on its back and a ghastly head, broke through the water, creating huge waves.

Its cold vertical pupils swept over the crowd at the dock, causing so Level 1 Mages to shiver, but then it gently lowered its ghastly head, extending its slender neck beneath Duke’s feet.

Duke leapt lightly and sat casually on a relatively flat spot behind the winged snake’s head.

The cold gleam of its blue-black scales under dim light contrasted with Duke’s calm figure, creating a dramatically impactful scene.

This scene drew so extra glances at Duke from others, as it was a Level 2 Slave Creature with mighty presence not easily possessed by anyone.

Many speculated about Duke’s origins since ordinary Wizards don’t have enough Magic Stones to acquire such a level of Slave Creature.

Moreover, the Spiritual Power of a typical Level 1 Mage can’t sustain a Level 2 Slave Creature, indicating Duke’s considerable skill.

What they didn’t realize was that Duke hadn’t signed a Slave Contract with the winged snake but was using a Control Talisman.

Control Talismans are generally used by the Slave Creature Legion, and this winged snake was rely one drawn from Duke’s Slave Creature Corps.

If they knew Duke owned a Slayer Creature Corps, they’d be even more astonished.

Simon was especially mouth-opened, knowing Duke was strong but not expected him to be strong enough to possess a Level 2 Slave Creature.

"You should co too. Sitting on this will be much easier," Duke said to Simon.

Simon didn’t hesitate; such an opportunity was rare, and it was his first ti being so close to a Level 2 Slave Creature.

He also found a spot on the winged snake’s hundred-ter-long body to sit, the only challenge being to maintain his balance without getting thrown off.

Due to the winged snake’s very smooth skin, without the adhesion of Magic, it’s easy to slip off.

Once ready, with Lauren leading the way into the sea, everyone else quickly subrged.

Descending felt like entering another world.

Sunlight was swiftly swallowed, and the surroundings plunged into deep blue darkness.

Only the magical light emitted by the Wizards illuminated limited areas like scattered starlight.

Imnse water pressure surged from all directions but was effectively resisted by each person’s defensive asures.

Occasionally, he was disturbed by glowing deep-sea creatures, creating eerie swirls.

Lauren knew the route extrely well, leading the group down a steep sea mountain’s cliff.

Signs of Insect Race activities began to appear; gnawed giant kelp forests, floating organic fragnts, and that faintly sweet and rancid scent unique to the Insect Race.

After so diving, a glow lood in the distance ahead.

Upon closer inspection, it was indeed a camp built on a gentle sea mountain summit.

The camp was small in scale but crafted ingeniously.

The entire structure was shielded by a massive, translucent light blue Energy Shield with rotating water stream patterns on the surface, showing both defensive and stealth capabilities.

Inside the camp, structures composed of massive, sleek white corals and luminous shells were visible, entirely different from those on land, full of fluid curves.

Sea Race Warriors in armors, wielding coral tridents or unique bone weapons, patrolled there.

They had human-like upper bodies and fish-like lower bodies covered in scales, vigilantly scanning the dark deep sea outside the shield.

This was one of the Sea Encampnts of the joint operation, known as the Blade Ridge Camp.

Lauren led the group to approach the shield, extracting a sea conch-shaped token emitting specific energy waves.

The shield sensed the token and silently opened an entrance.

Everyone entered in sequence, instantly feeling their bodies lighten, returning to an air environnt, albeit with the air heavily laced with salty and seaweed scents.

Inside, there was no seawater. For Wizards, this was a more suitable environnt, specially prepared for them, since the Sea Race could survive both on land and underwater.
