Chapter 521: Chapter 521: Awakened Ritual
These are just Duke’s speculations; the secrets of the Devourer Plane cannot be discerned rely through a few pieces of demonized armor.
Through his research, he also discovered that this ritual has restrictions and seems to identify the aura of the one performing it.
Duke has completely extracted the ritual onto parchnt, displaying a bizarre demon-goat horn pattern.
Just looking at it gives one a feeling of unease.
According to the study of rituals, once it is extracted, it can be used.
But Duke attempted several tis without success and felt a resistance, as if his aura did not et the ritual’s requirents.
Most likely only the natives of the Devourer Plane can use this ritual; beings from other planes cannot perform it.
This was expected, as this ritual is the most basic extraordinary system of the Devourer Plane, thus it naturally won’t easily benefit lives from other planes.
The awakened abilities differ from the curse magic system of the Oracle Plane.
If the awakened abilities truly exist in a kind of treasury, their number is not infinite, using one would deplete it unless an awakened one dies and the ability returns.
However, this treasury of abilities should have so replenishing or renewing chanism; otherwise, the abilities would gradually decrease.
Yet the Devourer Plane’s growth into a Middle Plane indicates there are still unknown chanisms at play.
Unable to use this ritual for now, Duke did not casually give up.
He began designing a completely new, extrely single-purposed magic, combining the aura characteristics extracted from the demonized armor of the Devourer Plane and his own understanding of the essence of energy.
This magic does not seek to harm or defend; its only function is to cloak the ntal waves Duke emits when trying to activate the ritual with a perfect aura identical to that of a Devourer Plane native.
The magic is actually not complicated, as the Wizard Civilization has long had similar spells.
Duke only needed to study the previous magic and make so adjustnts based on the Devourer Plane’s actual aura.
He conducted countless calculations, simulations, and fine-tunings. Duke had to find the most precise frequency and characteristic code among countless aura fluctuations and design a spell structure that could sustain this disguise with minimal energy consumption and maximum stability.
It only took Duke a few days to successfully simulate the Devourer Plane’s aura magic.
At the mont the magic is ford, it creates an extrely thin, nearly imperceptible energy mbrane around the caster.
This mbrane twists the natural attributes of Duke’s magic power and spiritual power so that the aura he emits closely matches the fundantal fluctuations of the Devourer Plane.
After completing this, Duke once again picked up the parchnt carrying the ritual.
The aura wave surrounding Duke was already entirely different, feeling almost identical to that of a Devourer Plane native.
With the ritual in hand, Duke infused his spiritual power into it. The pattern on the parchnt began to emit a purple glow, and the demon-goat horn pattern seed to co alive, with the lines twisting and emitting an ancient and supre aura.
Under the perfect disguise of the magic, the ritual no longer rejected him but recognized him as a qualifying individual and began to operate officially.
Duke could clearly feel his spiritual power being greedily absorbed by the parchnt in his hand, while the disguised Devourer Plane native aura also resonated deeply with the ritual.
His consciousness seed to be pulled into a void space filled with purple mist, where countless chaotic and insane whispers echoed at his ears, and countless blurred and twisted images flashed before his eyes.
The shapes of these images varied, reminiscent of the shadows of so weapons.
Duke realized these distorted, rapidly flowing images represented various awakened abilities.
This process was full of unpredictability; he couldn’t actively select one particular image.
It seed that it wasn’t him choosing these abilities, but the abilities choosing him.
This aligned with the information Duke previously learned, that the awakened cannot choose their abilities; everything is random.
Duke maintained his composure, calmly observing this treasury of awakened abilities.
He did not try to actively capture a powerful spotlight but instead allowed his own spiritual traits, that rationality, order from the Wizard, and his innate talents to radiate like a beacon.
More importantly, Duke subtly released a portion of the Light Divine Status aura.
Since the abilities were selecting him, he needed to demonstrate his value.
The most valuable asset Duke now possessed was not wealth like magic stones but his six high-grade elental affinity talents and the Light Divine Status.
These are competitive assets anywhere on the Endless Plane.
No one knew how much ti passed, maybe a blink, maybe an eternity.
Amidst the countless chaotic lights, a seemingly plain yet uniquely-auraed light point was drawn by the auras he emitted and slowly approached him.
The mont Duke’s spiritual power touched this light point, an ancient, solemn bell sound rippled out, resonating not through the ears but directly in the depths of the soul.
The purple light on the parchnt in his hand burst forth instantly and then quickly faded, all anomalies disappearing entirely.
The parchnt itself seed to be exhausted of all its power, becoming dim and lifeless, the demon-goat horn pattern reverting to a dormant state.
In Duke’s perception, everything had changed.
In the depths of his spiritual power sea, a distinct connection appeared.
Following this connection, he saw an ancient, floating bell suspended in the void.
This bell displayed a dark bronze hue with its surface carved with countless intricate and mysterious patterns, which weren’t static but slowly flowing.
The bell was not large, yet it conveyed a heavy and stable aura, as if it could suppress ti and space.
There were twelve scale marks on the bell resembling ti, and a black pointer inside was rotating rapidly and ceaselessly, with each scale endpoint bearing an image.
Duke found it sowhat faint to view these twelve scales, unable to clearly see the specific imagery at their ends.
Since this was in his spiritual power sea, it’s naturally not a matter of visible clarity but rather a lack of sufficient spiritual power to directly perceive what those twelve point images looked like.
The pointer continued to spin ceaselessly, showing no signs of pausing.
"Is this my awakened ability?" Duke thought, feeling the connection with the bell.
It was a remarkably peculiar sensation, unlike the connection with magic models, more akin to a bodily instinct; this bell was a part of him.
