Chapter 277: Chapter 277: Blood of War

Duke spent more than five thousand Level 1 Magic Stones just to purchase the book on Blood of War. This was a version mastered by the Giant Rock Comrce Association, and it’s one that is quite commonly used.

The Magic Potion Manual of Blood of War appears to be made of so animal’s fur, and when touched, it feels warm, almost as if it’s alive.

When Duke’s fingers rested on it, he could faintly sense an extrely weak, long-interval pulse, like a faint heartbeat buried deep underground.

The fur’s surface is covered with dark red patterns, resembling dried blood vessels or so mysterious runes, which emit a faint tallic luster under certain light.

"Alive?" Duke was slightly chilled in his heart and unconsciously used a trace of Spiritual Power to probe it.

As soon as the Spiritual Power touched the cover, that weak pulsation beca montarily distinct, and the dark red patterns on the cover seed to co alive, writhing slightly, radiating an ancient, primal intent filled with rust and blood.

He carefully opened the heavy cover, and the inner pages were equally special, made from a resilient, yellowed thick parchnt, feeling gritty to the touch yet extrely tough.

The contents in the manual were not recorded in words but in images. So depicted grotesque, muscular humanoid creatures bathing in blood on the battlefield, while others showcased various bizarre, ominous Magic Potion Materials.

So images displayed diagrams of internal organs, bones, and the path of energy in a berserk state, with wild lines and a tension as if power were about to explode.

After browsing these images with his Spiritual Power, Duke quickly received the information hidden behind them, containing the principles of Blood of War and its refining process.

Each image harbored its complete aning, carrying a certain amount of information.

This was not Duke’s first encounter with such a Spiritual Power information dium, so he quickly mastered how to use this Magic Potion Manual, reading its content with Spiritual Power.

He spent five days studying this book in order to fully understand its content.

Blood of War is indeed a very complex Magic Potion, at least more complex than any other potion Duke had encountered before.

The refining cost of this potion is also very high, with a set of Magic Potion Materials totaling nearly ten thousand Level 1 Magic Stones, including the skull of the Level 1 Demon, Sound Demon Bird.

Just this one material costs over three thousand Magic Stones.

Because Blood of War urgently requires Sound Demon Bird as Magic Potion Material, many Wizards went to hunt this Demon for profit, once nearly leading to the extinction of Sound Demon Birds.

Later, many Wizard factions began to raise Sound Demon Birds exclusively, which gradually increased their numbers and lowered their price.

However, they are still not cheap, as the consumption of Blood of War is enormous, with even a small war using up a lot of it.

Since Duke was just beginning to learn and hadn’t actually mastered the refining of Blood of War, he wasn’t able to take orders from the Giant Rock Comrce Association.

He spent a hundred thousand Magic Stones to purchase over a dozen sets of Magic Potion Materials to use as practice materials.

If it were before, Duke would definitely have been reluctant to do so, as the learning cost was a bit too high.

But now, with over a million Level 1 Magic Stones and ten thousand Level 2 Magic Stones on hand, he could afford this expense and risk.

Because Duke himself hadn’t mastered the refining of Blood of War, Yala and others were unable to assist him in refining the potion.

At the very least, he needed to completely master the refining of Blood of War himself before assigning tasks and instructing others on how to assist him in the potion-making process.

In the silent laboratory, Duke looked at the various Magic Potion Materials placed before him, sorting through the refining process of Blood of War in his mind over and over again.

Once he was sure of himself, he began the first refining of the Blood of War Magic Potion.

Duke used tweezers to hold the skull of the Sound Demon Bird, a palm-sized piece of bone with a peculiar curve and natural holes, appearing in a warm ivory white, but its surface was covered with fine, seemingly naturally ford blood-colored patterns.

He carefully placed it into a specially crafted Silver Cauldron engraved with Energy Guidance Runes.

According to the manual’s guidance, he needed to use his Spiritual Power, along with a solvent called Soul Condensing Grass Juice, to carefully awaken the residual primal force of the Sound Demon Bird within the skull and guide it out stably.

He took a deep breath, gathering a strand of pure Spiritual Power at his fingertips, which slowly penetrated into a natural hole on the surface of the skull like the finest probing needle.

At the sa ti, he picked up a crystal dropper in his right hand, filled with Soul Condensing Grass Juice that looked like liquid erald.

When the Spiritual Power made contact with the hole, there ca an extrely faint, distant humming from within the skull, seemingly from a distant void.

Duke’s spirit was lifted, knowing he was on the right track.

He held his breath, focusing his energy to inject his Spiritual Power into it, carefully exploring and communicating with the dormant force.

Simultaneously, a drop of Soul Condensing Grass Juice fell precisely on the edge of the hole.

The instant the juice touched the skull, it emitted a slight popping sound, like cold water touching hot oil.

A visible stream of energy tinged with faint blood color rose from the hole in the skull, exuding a sharp and manic rhythm.

This was indeed the primal force of the Sound Demon Bird, encompassing the berserk characteristic of manipulating sound waves and inducing chaos it had during its life.

Duke’s Spiritual Power acted like the most skillful reins, attempting to wrap and soothe this turbulent energy stream, guiding it to swirl within the rune-engraved cauldron according to the predetermined trajectory.

This process consud imnse ntal energy, with fine beads of sweat forming on his forehead.

The energy stream alternated between being docile and violently clashing against his Spiritual Power constraints, emitting silent shrieks.

"Steady... guide..." Duke silently recited the key points conveyed by the manual images, his Spiritual Power flooding out like a tide, firmly suppressing the energy stream’s rampage.

After a strenuous struggle, the blood-colored energy stream was finally tad initially, forming a slowly rotating energy vortex under the guidance of the Silver Cauldron’s runes, emitting a faint yet dangerous red glow.

Ti passed by slowly, and the energy fluctuations in the laboratory intensified.

The liquid within the cauldron had transford into a viscous, dark-red substance resembling molten lava, with its surface constantly bubbling and bursting, emitting a scorching aura and a rusty scent of blood.

The energy vortex violently rotated and clashed within the viscous liquid, producing a dull gurgling sound, like a caged ferocious beast roaring.
