Chapter 269: Chapter 269: Crystal Core
Duke wanted to collect crystal cores of six different attributes, and this required not only substantial resources but also considerable luck to acquire them.
The common Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water attribute crystal cores were relatively easier to obtain. With enough proficiency, there was a chance to find so in the Black Sail Treasure Vault.
However, it wasn’t that easy, as even in the Black Sail Treasure Vault, these attribute crystal cores weren’t always available; it depended on luck.
If one were to solely rely on the Black Sail Treasure Vault, poor luck might an waiting for many years, generally requiring expansion into other channels and avenues.
The reserve of crystal cores was generally quite challenging. So wizards, having no choice, could only choose crystal cores that weren’t their highest elental affinity.
This was often a last resort, usually because they had little remaining lifespan and couldn’t afford to wait, thus needing to enhance their strength first.
Although Duke was still young and hadn’t yet truly reached the Liquidation Wizard stage, he needed to plan in advance and start preparing.
He glanced at the Black Sail Treasure Vault, and at present, there was only one crystal core, an Earth Attribute Earth’s Heart Fragnt, valued at fifteen thousand contribution points.
The Heart of the Earth was buried deep in the core of massive elental mineral veins. It ford over billions of years through geological changes and elental sedintation, being a mineral core containing the ultimate essence of the Earth Elent.
It might appear in a deep golden hue, a heavy brownish color, or a warm jade-like appearance, and it was said that touching it allowed one to feel the earth’s pulse.
For wizards with high Earth Elent Affinity, the Heart of the Earth was an excellent crystal core, with earth attribute energy being extrely pure, stable, and gentle, posing almost no risk.
Usually, just a fragnt of the Heart of the Earth was sufficient. The entire Heart of the Earth wasn’t sothing an ordinary person could afford, nor could most wizard clans.
With the remaining eighteen thousand contribution points, Duke didn’t hesitate much and directly exchanged them for the Earth’s Heart Fragnt.
Though still a long way from becoming a Crystalized Wizard, Duke knew he couldn’t wait until the brink of advancent to prepare.
Now that he could obtain an Earth attribute crystal core, he surely should seize it first and then slowly gather the crystal cores of other attributes.
Before long, a dark demon arrived at the deserted island with an antiquated brass box, bearing a greatly fawning smile as he handed the box to Duke.
Seeing his expression, Duke knew what he wanted and casually tossed a few pieces of smoked deer heart over, making the dark demon grin.
Upon opening the box, Duke saw sothing resembling a golden jade inside, containing an imnse amount of pure earth attribute energy.
When Duke placed his hand upon it, he indeed felt a heartbeat-like pulse, making the Earth’s Heart Fragnt seem alive.
If Duke were to sell this Heart of the Earth now, it would likely fetch a high price at an auction.
However, Duke certainly wouldn’t choose to do that, as Black Sail wouldn’t allow it.
Duke directly placed this Earth’s Heart Fragnt into the Light God Court, which was safer than a Space Ring.
In extre circumstances, Space Rings could be damaged, aning everything inside would beco void, with no way to recover it.
This is one of the risks of Space Rings. Many wizards own multiple Space Rings, dispersing important items across different rings.
The saying goes, "Don’t put all your eggs in one basket," to avoid a scenario where one Space Ring gets damaged or lost, leading to total loss.
The Light God Court was evidently more reliable than Space Rings, as ordinary forces couldn’t damage such items, making it far more dependable than a Space Ring.
For now, Duke used the Light God Court as an oversized Space Ring. One square kiloter of land was minuscule on the plane level but imnse for spatial items.
The land area within the Light God Court was currently only one square kiloter, but the altitude reached tens of thousands of ters, making it impossible for Duke to fill it in a short ti.
Moreover, with a constant influx of the Power of Faith, the land area of the Light God Court was slowly expanding, albeit at a very slow pace.
At this rate, Duke felt it would take at least a few thousand years to beco a small plane, still far from qualifying as a Low Plane.
"Relying on plundering is indeed faster..." Duke contemplated.
He began to understand why so many evil gods from other planes were so keen on spreading faith in other planes—the Power of Faith would surely beco increasingly crucial and scarce over ti.
If Duke wished to develop the Light God Court into a true Bright Divine Kingdom, he would need almost limitless Power of Faith, unsure if he could achieve this in his lifeti.
"These matters are still too distant for , better to focus on the present. Now that I have the Dark Attribute Talent, I must also master so Dark Attribute Magics, which I’m rather lacking in..." Duke pondered.
Dark Attribute Magic was relatively rare, requiring high talent, making wizards eligible to study Dark Attribute Magic quite scarce.
On the West Coast, only the Crawford Clan excelled in this, but as an ancient wizard family, they wouldn’t share their secrets with outsiders, as it would expose them to scrutiny.
Duke still had to rely on the Black Sail Treasure Vault to search for related spells, as such information couldn’t simply be purchased with magic stones from the outside.
He now had only a little over three thousand contribution points left, feeling sowhat strained.
Duke searched the Black Sail Treasure Vault and found several Dark Attribute Spells, none of which were cheap.
He couldn’t spend all his remaining three thousand contribution points on this, needing to choose spells that could have a direct impact at present.
Currently, Duke had many offensive and defensive ans, so adding more for the sake of it wasn’t necessary, or the cost-effectiveness would be too low.
Dark Attribute Magic, essentially a vast category of magic, encompassed most negative energy spells.
Finally, in the Black Sail Treasure Vault, Duke chose a spell called the Eye of Darkness, a supportive type of magic.
The Eye of Darkness could summon an eye existing within the Shadow Space, enabling the detection of undead and invisibility, among others, invisible to the naked eye and imperceptible by Spiritual Power.
With the Eye of Darkness, Duke found it much easier to conduct reconnaissance.
Previously, his reconnaissance relied mainly on the Activated Spirit Bird, which, having a physical form, was easily spotted, making it unsuitable for slightly stronger opponents.
