Chapter 161: Chapter 161: Fierce Battle
The gates of Moon Shadow City are forged from a magic tal called Golden Scale Celestial Iron, incredibly heavy and nigh impossible to open or close by human power.
The gates are protected by special magic set by Beastman Priests; only those with a special key can control their opening and closing.
Once the gates are closed, unless soone inside the city uses the key to open them, they are nearly impregnable.
At least, Ackman believes this, and it’s one reason why he is confident in holding the defense until reinforcents arrive.
Ackman knows that even using a magic-guided cannon to bombard the gates would take several days to knock them down.
And he has not yet seen the enemy use such ans.
Ackman assus the enemy likely does not possess things like magic-guided cannons, otherwise, they would have already used them; otherwise, so many people would not have died.
However, he is completely unaware of the cruelty and indifference of the Wizards; the opponents indeed have such things but considered it not worth deploying after calculating the value.
A slender, yet incredibly agile and swift plant creature rushed to the wall.
This was a Sunflower Person from the Plant Elf World, his body resembling a sunflower, particularly small.
He held a small shield, quickly deflecting a rain of arrows.
After rushing to the wall, the Sunflower Person took out a transparent cube crystal and stuck it on the gates, then turned to flee.
Just as he turned to run, the high explosive energy bomb he had placed was detonated under the spiritual power manipulation of a distant Wizard.
The imnse energy swept the surroundings, and the Sunflower Person, seeming experienced, curled up his body, wrapping himself in green leaves and forming a ball.
He was blown far away by the formidable energy wave, rolling across the distance like wind-borne tumbleweed.
After stopping, the Sunflower Person unfurled his body, coughed up blood, with green liquid containing tiny bits of plant tissue—that was his internal organs.
"Lucky to have survived," the Sunflower Person felt imnsely grateful at that mont.
He knew that as soon as he placed the explosive on the gates, it would be detonated imdiately.
The Wizards wouldn’t care about their fate; for them, detonating imdiately was the most rational choice, avoiding unforeseen changes.
As for a tiny slave creature, no one cared about its life or death.
Below the walls, the indestructible gates forged from Golden Scale Celestial Iron at that mont actually showed a small crater.
Compared to the enormous gates, this crater was tiny but enough to shock and terrify the Beastn on the walls.
They couldn’t imagine what kind of bomb could so easily create such a mark on the gates.
For now, it seed just a small crater, insignificant.
But if these slave creatures continued bombarding the gates, it wouldn’t be long before the gates crumbled, leaving Moon Shadow City’s defenses practically useless.
"Stop anyone trying to approach the gates!" Ackman shouted loudly on the walls.
The surrounding Beastn also realized the severity of the situation, concentrating their firepower on the slave creatures attempting to sprint to the gates.
Dog-man Reed, riding on a Kodo Beast, had been observing the situation ahead.
When the timing seed right, he said to a nearby Batn, "Deploy your n."
Batn are a type of slave creature standing only about 1.4 ters tall; small in stature but extrely fast in flight and skilled in aerial combat.
A mont later, hundreds of Batn flew overhead the Slave Legion, wearing light armor and carrying various weapons as they flew toward the walls.
The Batn’s numbers were not many, which was why they were not deployed initially.
Without knowing what anti-air asures the opponents might have, sending out the Batn recklessly could easily result in high casualties.
This kind of preferential treatnt for Batn was earned through battle after battle, leading to strategic considerations for their casualties.
With the Batn appearing, even though their numbers were few, they imdiately created trendous pressure for the Beastn on the walls.
Batn can unleash a highly destructive sonic wave, capable of directly wrecking the enemy’s brain tissue or heart, causing instant death.
Whenever a Batn flew over the wall, one Beastman would bleed from seven orifices and die instantly, tumbling from the wall.
Arrows and artillery were imdiately targeted at the Batn, but the Beastn couldn’t keep pace with the Batn’s speed, struggling to even track their flight path, let alone carry out precise shooting.
With the arrival of the Batn, pressure on slave creatures below the walls suddenly diminished, allowing multiple slave creatures to charge towards the gates in an instant.
After several violent explosions, the entire wall shook and trembled.
Accompanied by the deaths of those slave creatures, several pits of varying sizes appeared on the gates.
At that mont, Ackman could only shout desperately, continually directing the defenses on the walls while constantly mobilizing Beaste forces from behind to fill the gaps in the wall’s defenses.
A Batn seed to have recognized Ackman’s position as commander, instantly flying over and releasing a sonic wave aid at Ackman’s head, intending to destroy the Beastman’s brain.
However, while Ackman appeared to be commanding those around him, he was in fact always monitoring the activities of every Batn in the sky.
Pretending not to know, as the Batn lowered its elevation to the closest, Ackman’s longsword suddenly shot out.
The sword carried Ackman’s own energy, incredibly swift, so swift that even for the fast-reacting creatures like Batn, they couldn’t respond.
After all, Ackman was a level-one life, while the attacking Batn had only super-ranked magical beast strength.
The longsword, turning into a white light, instantly pierced through the Batn’s head, the violent energy within exploding its head entirely.
The Batn’s headless body imdiately plumted, accompanied by a shower of blood.
With a cold snort, Ackman waved and retrieved the longsword.
Only a special observation thod could see Ackman using a special energy to adhere the sword, with a long invisible energy rope in between.
Though the sword seed to fly out, it was actually always under Ackman’s control.
The fall of this Batn quickly attracted the attention of the other Batn, who transmitted the information through sonic waves and all drifted away from Ackman.
For them, their task was rely to harass the Beastn on the wall; it’s best to avoid courting death by provoking Ackman, this level-one life.
