The crowd’s gaze quickly focused on Lynch.

"Who is that person? How co I’ve never seen him before?"

"He looks pretty ordinary, doesn’t he?"

"Are you kidding ? Miss Kong thinks this person can be a match for the Thorn Sword God?"

The murmurs surged like a tide, and Lynch stood still, feeling a surge of heat at the back of his neck.

He could clearly sense the confusion and doubt in those gazes, even mixed with a faint hint of mockery. After all, his plain travel attire indeed seed out of place amid the crowd of people dressed in splendid clothing or mage robes.

"Lynch!"

Kong’s voice carried a hint of urgency as she, sohow, had already appeared beside Lynch, her hands behind her back, her small face turned up, and her usually calm silver-gray eyes now shimring with a watery glow, her long lashes fluttering like startled butterflies.

"Help , just consider it... just consider it a favor I owe you!"

She paused, her cheeks reddening slightly, her voice lowered further, carrying a subtle note of pleading, "I promise, if you ever need in the future, I won’t hesitate to go through fire and water for you!"

Seeing Kong in this rare "coquettish" state, Lynch clicked his tongue in wonder.

He had known Kong for quite so ti but had never seen this always calm, slightly aloof "Void Sword" show such a childish side.

This coquettish expression could almost lt the silver longsword that never left her side.

Lynch hadn’t had a chance to speak before he felt a heat behind him and instinctively turned his head, catching a heated gaze.

At the other end of the arena, Vanilla had sohow elegantly descended to the edge of the stage.

Her fiery red hair, like burning flas, seed to flicker with tangible sparks under the arena lights, painting the air with a scorching orange hue.

She rested one hand lightly on the longsword at her waist, carved with a nacing thorn pattern, her red lips curling into an unabashedly mocking smile, her voice clear and proud, like a war bell: "Kong, are you sure this is the opponent you picked for ?"

She surveyed Lynch with interest, from head to toe, finally settling her gaze on his sowhat worn leather boots, her tone growing more contemptuous: "I’m curious, which nook did this nobody crawl out from?"

Lynch raised an eyebrow, though he had anticipated this girl’s flamboyant nature, it was still rather excessive.

He smirked and said to Kong: "I’ll give it a try."

With that, he flashed onto the arena.

Lynch had no interest whatsoever in the personal grudges between Kong and this girl, but he was quite keen on the swordsmanship duel.

Although he was always engrossed in magic research, Lynch had persistently trained in swordsmanship over the years.

Since advancing to beco a Great Knight, it’s been over a century, during which he had the opportunity to discuss the intricacies of swordsmanship with many swordsmanship masters and excellent knights.

He had encountered so worthy opponents, but over ti such opponents beca fewer and fewer.

The last ti he t an opponent who could match his swordsmanship was Kong.

Watching the two fight intensely just now made him itch to join, and now that Kong had asked him for help again, there was no reason to refuse.

"Zila!" A sound.

Lynch raised his finger and lightly sliced through the air, opening a space crack, then retrieved a Cross Sword from the crack.

He didn’t use the uniquely styled Phantom Cross, nor the powerful Ifrid’s Sword but chose the earliest Glory Cross. This traditional Cross Sword would better highlight the knight spirit in such a duel.

Getting into starting position, Lynch spoke in an even tone: "Lynch Valen, a nobody, at your service."

The sword’s blade was steady, its luster restrained. Lynch held the sword single-handedly, with the tip tilted towards the ground, striking an impeccable knight’s starting posture, his movents fluid and natural, making his entire aura instantly beco as solid as a mountain. He looked at Vanilla, his voice calm yet powerful.

His series of actions, steady and swift, especially the space sword-taking and standardized starting position, significantly quieted the noisy stands. Many who had previously looked down on him stowed away their smiles, their gazes filled with skeptical wonder.

Layn watch the fun, insiders watch the skills.

Vanilla’s eyes of disdain slightly narrowed, her red eyebrows raised higher.

Her sharp gaze, almost tangible, swept over Lynch’s posture, weight distribution, grip strength, and that incredibly stable sword tip.

Just with such a simple standing and sword-holding posture, she could already tell that the seemingly ordinary man before her was by no ans the "nobody" he claid to be, but a top-tier swordsmanship master steeped in swordsmanship for years and battle-hardened!

The condensed aura around him was not sothing that could be achieved overnight.

Vanilla nodded: "Vanilla, your tutor."

The two stood firm, paused briefly.

"Dang!"

With the dull sound of the copper gong ringing, the next second, the battle instantly unfolded.

"Whoosh!"

"Whoosh!"

The sharp wind-breaking sound exploded almost simultaneously as two glimring silver figures rushed toward each other.

"Boom!"

The next mont, a loud boom resonated as the two figures collided in the center of the arena.

The two Cross Swords clashed in nearly identical postures, and for a mont, bright sparks scattered across the sky.

A nearly imperceptible brief pause, the battle imdiately turned fierce.

"Clang clang clang!" The sound of clashing tal constantly rang out.

No transcendent power was used, it was purely human strength.

Yet at this mont, the strength of the two had completely surpassed the limits humanly possible.

In the eyes of an ordinary person, they seed to have turned into two beams of light, with no clear view of their forms, only seeing flashes on the arena, appearing and disappearing.

And every ti they appeared, it was always accompanied by a cascade of sparks shooting into the sky.

The crowd was too shocked to speak.

"My gosh, am I seeing this right? Is soone actually holding their own against the Thorn Sword God in swordsmanship and not being defeated..."

"Who on earth is this young man, Lynch Valen? How co I’ve never heard of this na before?"

"This is too amazing! Where did such a master co from?"

Even though the audience couldn’t see the dazzling swordplay clearly, just the fact that Lynch could contend with Vanilla for so long had already shocked everyone present.

However, as ordinary spectators, they didn’t realize that the reality was even more astonishing than it appeared...

Vanilla maneuvered with the Cross Sword, launching wide, sweeping attacks against Lynch.

The Cross Sword had been wielded to its utmost in her hands, already reaching the humanly possible limit without using any transcendent power.

Yet the longer the fight went on, her expression grew more grave, her heart increasingly shocked.

For the first ti!

Since inheriting the title of Sword God, it was the first ti she discovered that even pouring all her efforts into the battle, she still couldn’t find her opponent’s flaw or a chance to seize victory.

She questioned herself on whether she was focused enough, yet before her, Lynch seed like a profound, unfathomable black fog.

No matter how exquisite and fierce her swordsmanship was, her opponent could always find a way to neutralize it.

It appeared as if the two were evenly matched.

But only Vanilla knew that she had actually fallen into a quagmire...

anwhile, as Lynch was dueling with Vanilla, his gaze inadvertently glanced at the system panel.

Just monts ago,

a voice unexpectedly echoed in his ears.

[Sword Intent Skill Level 1]

At the sa ti, a brand new data list appeared on the panel.
