At the sa ti, Black Fog Forest.

The Black Fog Forest is an uninhabited jungle in the northwest of the Erald Land, roughly as large as the Shadow Land’s Dark Forest, shrouded in a layer of gray-black mist all year round, which is how it got its na.

This area belongs to the Shadow Church, a second-level wizard organization. The Witch Master Tarim Collette is one of the few Mystical Wizards in the entire Erald Land.

Since the Tower of Nature fell apart, there are no longer any third-tier wizards in the Erald Land; the second-tier is the peak of this land.

With a second-tier mystical wizard at the helm, the Shadow Church naturally developed rapidly as well, boasting thousands of apprentices, hundreds of official-level wizards, and ruling a human kingdom with a population of millions.

Power, scale, population, all of these make it a powerhouse in the forefront of the Erald Land.

However, today, this powerful wizard organization is facing its darkest hour...

Dark Moon Church.

"Dong! Dong! Dong!" A deep bell tolls as the wizards of the Dark Moon Church begin their day’s activities.

In the wide square, a massive stone mill with a diater of over ten ters is built with large stones, and a group of children is chained to it, so as old as seven or eight, so as young as two or three.

There are both boys and girls.

These children are gathered on the altar, their bodies covered in bizarre runes.

This gigantic stone mill is an altar.

And these children chained on it are naturally the sacrifices.

The Dark Moon Sacrifice!

This is a ritual held regularly by the Dark Moon Church every month, selecting a certain number of children, grinding them into blood and flesh with the stone mill, collecting their fear and wailing in this extre way, and then using the magic array on the mill to sacrifice to the deity the Dark Moon Church believes in, the Dark Moon God.

Yes, the Dark Moon Church is a wizard organization that delves into the faith system.

And today is the day of the Dark Moon Sacrifice for this month.

At this mont, the sacrifices collected on the stone mill altar are ready.

They were specifically collected from the human world, so bought from slave traders, others directly snatched from the hands of commoners.

In this region, the Dark Moon Church is the only god; they do whatever they wish with only a thought, as many commoners as they need, no one dares to defy their orders.

"Wuwuwu... I don’t want to die yet."

"Dad... Mom... where are you, wuwuwu..."

"Don’t be afraid, it’ll be okay..."

The older children already know what is about to happen, crying sadly on the mill.

The two and three-year-olds are still sowhat confused, not knowing what awaits them next, crying out of sadness because they can’t find their parents.

So of the more mature children realize that their fate couldn’t be changed, learning early to face it calmly, still able to squeeze out a slight smile in this tragic mont, comforting their companions with a serene heart.

Everyone hugs tightly together, forming a group, like a pack of animals left alone by a forest fire, waiting for doom to co.

The twenty-three bell tolls soon ended, and this also ans the ritual is about to officially begin.

A wizard hosting the ceremony steps forward: "Kekeke!"

He chuckles gloomily, pulling out a long two-handed magic wand, with a fist-sized skull tied to the top.

He shouts loudly: "To our great Lord of Dark Moon, King in the darkness, your most devoted servants have prepared a delectable sacrifice for you, hoping you will enjoy it, our carefully selected offering best suited to your taste..."

After a long speech, the wizard turns around and says to a few wizards behind him: "Alright, begin."

"Yes!"

A few wizards step forward, slowly chanting obscure and lengthy spells.

As the spells are chanted, the runes embedded in the giant stone mill begin to light up one by one.

These runes emit a blood-red light, quickly spreading along the base of the mill, soon forming a massive blood-red magic array at the center of the mill.

A huge mouth slowly opens from the center of this gigantic magic array, with sharp teeth gleaming coldly.

"Creak! Creak! Creak!" A dull creaking sound arises.

The massive stone mill starts to slowly swing outward, pushing the children on it towards that mouth in the center of the magic array.

The children can do nothing but squeeze their eyes shut, awaiting the arrival of death.

Seeing this mont is about to co, however, it is at this ti.

"Whoosh!"

Suddenly, a sharp whizzing breaks the air.

A beam of white light flashes across the sky, sothing flying over from afar.

It’s a spear.

A spear entirely made of white bone.

It is at least ten ters long, seemingly carved from the bones of so giant creature, looking particularly terrifying.

At this mont, this massive bone spear rushes over from a distance, rotating swiftly in the air making a fierce whizzing sound, as if tearing through the wind, like a streak of white lightning.

The next second.

"Boom!" A loud crash.

The bone spear strikes directly on the altar, right at the center of that horrifying mouth, and with a ’poof!’ the imnse impact instantly shatters the mouth.

"Ahhh!!!"

A tragic scream emanates from the altar, as if sothing got hurt.

"Who is it?!"

The wizards surrounding the altar all exclaim in alarm, raising their heads towards the sky.

"Flap! Flap!"

There, the sound of flapping wings rings out, and a red fire dragon several ters long is flapping its wings, flying in this direction, vaguely visible as a shadow seems to be sitting on the back of this fire dragon.

The fire dragon flies above the Shadow Church, spiraling downwards.

Then, with a "click."

A figure leaps down from the back of the fire dragon.

This is a young male, around thirty years old, strikingly handso in appearance, with silver-gray hair fluttering in the wind, and a pair of deep gray eyes shimring like stars.

Facing even what is a reputedly formidable wizard organization across the entire Erald Land, his deanor is calm and composed.

He casually asks: "Where is your Witch Master?"

As if discussing a trivial matter: "Tell him to co out quickly."

"et your death!"
