Wizard: Start with Biological Transformation to Grind Experience Chapter 331 - 6: Rewriting Social Order
After over two months, Lynch had basically completed the setup of the Fertile Valley’s Magic Array.
The roots of the Magic Tree on Lake Heart Island extended to every inch of the valley. In the future, all he needs to do is stand in the center of the island and blow the Natural Horn to spread the horn’s magic throughout.
In the future, Lynch also plans to breed a group of rmaid Lake Water Demons in the lake to maintain the Magic Array and protect this Magic Tree.
With the Magic Array set up, the next step was land reclamation.
In truth, the term reclamation might be misleading, as there were already cultivated fields in the valley. It’s just that they had been abandoned due to being occupied by Giant Trolls over the years. Now, they only needed to be plowed again.
Lynch gathered a group of farrs, along with over a hundred Green-skinned Giants, and remarkably, it took less than three months to complete the reclamation of the entire valley, much faster than Lynch had anticipated.
The reclaid fields spanned about a million acres, laid out in a grid pattern across the plain. Canals, ticulously planned, encircled each field, with several waterwheels strategically placed. The water flowing down from the mountains could be directed as needed to irrigate the land and ultimately collect in the lake at the valley’s center.
During this period, Lynch also created several Alchemy Demon Puppets and a plethora of Alchemy Spiders, modifying them suitably to handle tasks like sowing, watering, fertilizing, weeding, pest control, and harvesting.
The entire valley required only a few Wizard Apprentices to manage these Alchemy Tools and control the Magic Array, plus a few professional farrs to monitor the growth of the crops, necessitating fewer than a hundred people in total.
Managing nearly a million acres of farmland with under a hundred people is quite an achievent, even by Earth’s standards. The convenience brought by Magic is truly undeniable.
The million acres of land primarily cultivated wheat, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, and other essential human foods and vegetables. The yield per acre wasn’t particularly high, but the total output was astounding, more than enough to et the daily needs of 300,000 residents, with so surplus left over.
While Lynch was transforming the valley farm, Greywell was also advancing construction within the city.
He led the construction of several new markets and reorganized and planned the city’s comrcial institutions. A Comrce Officer was specifically appointed to control pricing of various commodities, and a special transport team was organized to handle logistics to and from the valley farm.
A few months later, the first batch of crops from the valley farm matured. The prepared transportation team imdiately headed to the valley to load and harvest the crops, and before dawn, the first batch was transported back to the city and began being marketed by the following morning.
The mont these agricultural products hit the market, they caused an uproar throughout Feiyan City!
This was because their prices were only a third of similar products on the market, and the low prices almost instantly bankrupted rchants who made a living from these goods, affecting every class within the city.
The previous social order involved farrs working the fields, reserving so produce for household use and taxes, and selling the surplus in the market to exchange for copper coins, buying necessities like clothing and jewelry, which extended to other trades like tailoring and crafts, forming a social cycle.
But now, with Greywell’s agricultural products entering the market, farrs couldn’t sell their produce, leaving them without money, unable to buy clothes, jewelry, and other needs, forcing tailors and craftsn into unemploynt.
So, what did these unemployed people do?
The answer was training.
Greywell set up a Militia Corps in the city, recruiting young people aged 14 to 30 to undergo military training within the corps, including Breathing Technique and swordsmanship training. The militia provided three als a day, and as long as one family mber was in training, the whole family enjoyed the sa benefits.
Previously, the Militia Corps might have had limited recruits—
Even though the propagation of the Breathing Technique initially sparked so interest, people’s true desire for becoming Knights lay in the estates, subjects, and territories associated with the title, symbolizing status.
Now that there were no Knights, learning Fighting Spirit without estates, subjects, or territories offered limited benefits beyond improving combat skills. Not everyone enjoyed fighting.
The Knight stories depicted by Minstrels sounded grand, but common folk preferred stable, modest lives.
But now it’s different!
The agricultural impact disrupted the city’s distribution of resources, causing mass unemploynt among residents, most of whom made a living from crafts, and having lost the Skill of farming or fields to cultivate.
If they didn’t enroll in the Militia Corps for training, they would starve.
In just a few weeks, nearly ten thousand eligible young people flooded into the Militia Corps for training under the guidance of instructors.
During this ti, Lynch wasn’t idle either.
He personally compiled several Otherworld storybooks based on his Earth mories, borrowing from popular, easily disseminated stories like "Goblin Slayer," "Lord of the Rings," and "Encounter in the Dungeon."
While compiling these stories, he deliberately infused them with spiritual power, implenting so hypnotic effects to subconsciously build a worldview.
He handed these compiled stories to Greywell, who then distributed them to the city’s minstrels, ordering them to sing these tales with so compensation, also using administrative mandates.
Soon, these tales about dungeons, ruins, and adventurous lives resonated through the city’s major taverns, with vivid characters and colorful plotlines rapidly spreading through the minstrels’ voices.
The adventurous, gear-building, empowering worldview gradually took root among the city’s youth.
"Life is only a few decades; the world is so big, don’t you want to see it?"
"In the dungeons lies the legendary Holy Sword. Whoever finds it will beco the next king of humanity and rule the world!"
"Instead of dying old in a farmhouse, why not spend your youth in dungeons; when old age arrives, sitting by the fireplace, reminiscing about those rich adventures—such a life feels worth living!"
"Go to the dungeon, where treasure is endless!"
Under Lynch’s intentional guidance, people’s thinking had begun to shift.
From marriage, having children, and living peacefully to seeking adventure, chance encounters, and pursuing strength.
Though not everyone would live this way, young people, especially the new generation growing up with these tales, wouldn’t settle for being farrs like their predecessors, and by capturing the youth, Lynch’s goal was within reach.
Sufficient strength and subliminally influenced thoughts—everything was in place, and Lynch’s Otherworld was ready to open for business.
Now, only the last link was missing.
But this is critical, even impacting whether his set of Otherworld rules is feasible—
Rebirth and Death!
