Chapter 438: Whispers of a Devil

WILOW-Ch.438: Whispers of a Devil

Red Keep, King’s Landing

POV of Doric Bolton

Doric’s hand jerked a little, and he could feel his grip on the leather safety belt of Wyvern’s saddle slipping a little bit.

"Land sowhere quickly." He shouted at the wyvern, hoping that the skinchanger inside it would hear him or both he and Margaery would fall, and he would be forced to use magic to rescue them.

Which would then force him to change Margaery’s mories. Sothing that would take too much effort and sothing too dangerous.

Erasing soone’s mory was easy for Doric, but altering their mory wasn’t.

mory alteration carried great dangers, and the person subjected to it could beco forgetful or turn into a vegetable.

The wyvern thankfully heard his shout and flew behind Red Keep and landed on an outcropping in Aegon’s High Hill.

As soon as it landed, he let go of the belt and fell on the ground with Margaery still attached to him like a limpet.

The adrenaline coursed through his body, and he took a few deep breaths. He thought about the situation they had just escaped.

Saving a would-be-queen of the Iron Throne from a tower while riding a wyvern.

He just knew the bards would make songs about this. They might even suggest that he and Margaery were secret lovers, or that they fell in love after this event.

He chuckled at the absurdity of the thought before he turned to Margaery, who still had her face buried into his chest.

"Margaery... Margaery... Woman!" he said, and she looked up at him, her cheeks flushed and her breath heavy. "We’re safe n..."

He didn’t get to finish the sentence as she pulled him into a kiss.

But thanks to his sharp reflexes, he managed to place his hand between their lips.

Seriously! What was it about these sudden attacks from won that he suffered so much from?

He removed his hand from her mouth and put his hands on her shoulders. Then he slowly pushed her back and peeled her away from him.

First, he had no intention of betraying Ygritte. And while so might not consider a kiss a betrayal, that was utter nonsense.

If Ygritte were to kiss soone else behind his back, Doric would absolutely consider it a betrayal. Therefore, he wouldn’t act like a hypocrite.

Secondly, Margery Tyrell was currently Jon’s fiancée. Even though it was a politically arranged marriage, Doric considered Jon a friend.

And one of the most fundantal rules of the bro code was not to lay a hand on your friends’ won. Not even exes.

And Doric wasn’t the type to break the bro code.

"Lady Margaery, what are you doing?" Doric asked, hoping the question would bring her back to her senses.

Margaery looked at him in confusion, and he tried to hide the scowl trying to form on his face.

Doric knew exactly what that look ant. Margaery looked at him as if trying to understand how he was so captivated by her charm.

As if all the n in the world should fall at her feet.

Frankly, Doric didn’t understand why won like that thought all n would succumb to lust.

Won might be a weakness for many n, but that wasn’t true for every man. Many n possessed the willpower to resist fleeting pleasures.

They might get aroused, and their bodies might react to many situations, but that didn’t an they couldn’t control their willpower.

On the contrary, Doric thought that every man who had a purpose in life and truly strived to achieve it should possess this level of willpower.

Otherwise, they would most likely never achieve their goals.

Doric didn’t think they, or he, had to be a monk.

He simply thought they needed to have a strong will and not start thinking with their lower minds every ti they saw bare breasts.

"What’s wrong?" Margaery asked with a fair bit of worry in her voice as she put her hand on his cock and rubbed her breasts on his chest. "Don’t you desire ?"

He closed his eyes and took hold of her hand that was slowly stroking his cock from outside his breeches.

He opened his eyes and glared at her, "No." He said and pushed her back.

He got up and looked at the riderless wyvern who was staring back at him.

"What... why?" Margaery asked as she got up behind him as well.

"I love another girl." He said, hoping that this would be the end of it.

It wasn’t as the girl draped behind him, "I won’t tell her." She whispered in his ear. "She doesn’t need to know."

Margaery’s words at that mont were no different from the whispers of a devil. And Doric could feel lust rising within him. But he suppressed the feeling with his willpower.

He took her hands and separated from her once again. "I am not going to betray her trust."

Then he took her hand and walked her up to the wyvern.

"Let’s get you to safety, Lady Margaery." He said.

The girl frowned but didn’t try anything else as he helped her up on Wyvern’s back and put the safety harness around her.

"That girl must be lucky to have soone like you as her lover," Margaery said as he sat behind her.

"I’m the lucky one." He said, and with another word, the Wyvern jumped from the outcropping and took to the air with a large flap of its wings.

Thankfully, the awkward flight didn’t take too long, and they reached his camp without any more conversation.

He put Margaery inside the tent where Loras was being treated and left.

He was horny and needed to visit Ygritte so that he could sate his lust.

He could resist a stranger with his will to avoid betraying the woman he loved, but he didn’t need to show such willpower towards his own woman, did he?

And then he had things to do.

First, he needed to check on Loras and give him one of his Healing Potions if necessary.

He knew that if Loras died, even if it wasn’t his fault and he himself had saved Margaery and Loras, it would strain relations between him and the Tyrells.

Perhaps this wouldn’t prevent the siege ahead, but the Tyrells might be reluctant when he requested troops for the Long Night.

Then he needed to check on the siege preparations. Now that he had saved Loras and Margaery, there was no obstacle to their attack on the city, and they could act once the preparations were complete.

He had also devised a thod to protect the lives of civilians in King’s Landing, and there were things he needed to do for that.

But Doric needed to do all this with a clear mind. And for that, he needed to visit Dreadfort and find Ygritte.
