Chapter 426: Leaving Dorne
WILOW-Ch. 426: Leaving Dorne
Near Sunspear, Dorne
POV of Doric Bolton
Once the wyvern was out of sight of people from Sunspear, Doric landed on the ground, put the wyvern inside the expanded trunk, and summoned his flying car.
"What is this?" Luna asked.
"It’s a flying car. It’ll be more comfortable to travel with this than on Wyvern’s back," he said.
"Can’t you take us directly to Dreadfort with the apparition?" she asked.
"I can, but we’ll have to stop sowhere else first, and I haven’t had the chance to go there before," he explained.
"Oh, I see," she said.
Then Raksa got into the car, went to the back area, and sat down. Doric helped Luna settle into the passenger seat, then took his own seat.
Soon, they took off and headed northwest.
"Will you tell
where we’re going?" Luna asked.
"We’re going to the northern edge of the Red Mountains of Dorne. To be precise, to the Tower of Joy." He said.
"Tower of Joy? Why? Isn’t that a ruined tower now?" she asked.
"Rather than ruined, it was torn down by Eddard Stark, and its stones were used to build cairns for the eight n who died there." He said.
"And I assu our going there has sothing to do with this incident," she said.
"Yes, one of those who died and were left there was my aunt’s deceased husband, Lord William Dustin. I want to send his remains and the remains of the others buried there to their families," he said.
"You seem to care about your aunt quite a bit," Luna said.
"That’s true. She may be my aunt, but she’s like a mother to . And I know she sees
as her son," he said.
"I see..." Luna said, and they were silent for a while.
It was Luna who broke the silence. "I’ve been thinking about our situation for a long ti."
This was a topic Doric didn’t want to address yet, so he remained silent, waiting for Luna to continue.
"We both ca into this world with new identities. Even though we can’t forget the past, we must also prevent ourselves from getting stuck in it. That’s why I think we need to restart our relationship in this world, starting with friendship," she said.
"Really?" he asked, surprised.
"Really. After talking to Ygritte, I realized that you’re more than just Harry in my world. I want to get to know this new Harry as a friend first," she said.
"I see. What did you actually talk with Ygritte?" he asked.
"Mostly girls talk. You could say we’re friends now. But thanks to Ygritte, I realized not only that you’ve gained a new identity in this world, but also that I’m in the sa situation myself. So, from now on, you should call
Tyene," she said.
"Tyene? Don’t you want to use Luna?" he asked.
"It is not that I don’t want to use it. I’m thinking of using Luna as my middle na. Tyene Luna Sand. What do you think?" she asked.
"Tyene Luna sounds nice, but I can’t say the sa about Sand. I’ll have to grant you nobility and bestow a surna on you soon," he said.
"Then I’ll gladly accept the Lovegood surna. I don’t think anyone else in Westeros has that surna," she said.
Then, during their journey, Doric and Luna talked about small things, and without realizing it, they had arrived at the Tower of Joy.
Doric’s work there didn’t take long. With a flick of his hand, he gathered the stones placed for the dead to the side, and with another flick of his hand, he lifted the corpses upwards.
By now, the bodies had long since lost their flesh, leaving only bones and their armor.
But thanks to their armor and weapons, identifying the bodies was quite easy.
Doric quickly conjured a wooden coffin around each body, adding their nas to the coffins using transfiguration.
Then he placed all the coffins inside his magical trunk.
Before leaving, he even restored the Tower of Joy to its pre-destruction state with a powerful Reparo charm.
Then Doric settled back into his car and, this ti using his car’s teleportation feature, teleported directly to Dreadfort.
He wanted to introduce Tyene to his aunt, but Tyene told him to take her to Ygritte, saying she could handle the rest.
Then Doric went to his aunt and showed her the bones of the late William Dustin.
Doric had never seen his aunt cry for so long. While weeping, she hugged him and kept thanking him.
Doric stayed with her until she fell asleep. Then he went to his room and spent the rest of the night cuddling with Ygritte.
They talked at length, and Doric told her about the turmoil he had been going through lately. But Ygritte understood him. He was really a lucky man.
The next day, Doric resud his work, apparated out of the Dreadfort and landed on top of one of the towers of Storm’s End.
The Castle was unchanged from the last he saw it.
Then again, the Castle has stood for centuries, so he wasn’t truly surprised.
What he was surprised by was the fact that the Royal Fleet of King Stannis was waiting in the waters below Storms End.
He shouldn’t have been.
After the Royal Fleet had been chased off, they could only have gone to Dragonstone or Storm’s End. And considering how Queen Selyse, lisandre, and Princess Shireen were with the fleet, he was not surprised that they had co back to Storm’s End.
He thought for a mont, then called Euron Greyjoy, his Admiral.
Euron picked up after the fifth ring, and he could see the Admiral naked in bed and surrounded by won from both sides.
"Your majesty," Euron said.
"Admiral Euron." He said, then turned the communication mirror toward the ships below Storm’s End and held it there for a few monts before turning it back toward himself.
"The Royal Fleet." He said, "It’s waiting below Storm’s End. They’re only being used by a small skeletal crew. Attack at night. Take the ships with as few casualties as possible."
"You want to add them to the Imperial Fleet?" Euron asked.
"No. As much as I would like to do, I think that a Royal Fleet would count as a great gift to King Aegon Targaryen. Won’t you agree?"
Euron nodded, "It’ll be done, your majesty. Anything else?"
"Yes. Put Storm’s End under siege as well." He nodded, "Once we defeat King Stannis, we would need Princess Shireen to abdicate her right to rule and seat soone in Storm’s End. That would be far easier if the Princess were already in our custody."
"Isn’t his Red Witch supposed to know Shadow Magic?" Euron asked, "What if she kills
with it?"
He nodded, "It is unlikely that such a thing would happen. I don’t know much about the magic from Asshai, but I do know that it works around sacrifice. So, unless the Red Priestess sacrifices soone like Queen Selyse or Princess Shireen, I doubt she would have enough power to work her spells."
"Still. What if she does?"
"I’ll give you an amulet. Always wear it. It will protect you from any shadow magic of the Red Priestess." He said.
"Are you sure? What if the amulet doesn’t work?"
"It will." He said. Hopefully.
Euron gave him a skeptical look but nodded. "If I die from so shadow magic, then I’ll haunt your dreams, your majesty."
"Then let’s hope it doesn’t co to that." He said and cut the connection.
Then he turned to look in the direction from where he had felt soone boring a hole in his head.
It was a woman in Red Clothing. She stood on the balcony of another tower, looking right at him.
That should be the infamous Red Priestess of King Stannis.
She raised her hand toward him, and he could feel... sothing happen as the magic around him started to twist.
But the distance was large, and her magic was weak.
With a simple wave of his hand, he destroyed whatever it was that she was trying to build.
Then he gave her a wave and a cheeky smile before he apparated out of Storm’s End.
