Chapter 235: Persuasion Charm
Chapter 235: Persuasion Charm
Sowhere Near the King’s Road
POV of Doric Bolton
Doric erged from the middle of a forest; the camouflage cloak he was wearing hid him from sight as long as he stayed still.
He stood up, put his hands inside the bottomless pouch, and took out his hoverboard.
The sun had already set on the horizon a few minutes ago, and it was getting darker every minute.
He waited 10 minutes until the last rays of the sun went down and the stars in the sky beca visible.
Then he climbed the broom and flew into the sky.
A few seconds later, he flew above the tavern where King Robert and his group had stayed only two days.
He took the road heading north and flew above it.
With his magical broom, he covered distance quickly, and half an hour later, he was flying on top of the Twins, which was littered with torch lights and had a sowhat festive atmosphere.
The old Walder Frey must have thrown a feast in King Robert’s na.
After all, it was not every day that you got to host a King in your castle.
He ca down behind two guards guarding a balcony and cast a Confundus charm on both of them before they could even be aware of his presence.
He looked in the eyes of one of them and pointed his wand at him. "Legilins"
A few seconds later, he had the information about the place where the King was sleeping.
The two guards would break out of the charm a few minutes later. So, he stepped on his hoverboard and left.
Then he flew into the top of the western tower, where the guests were staying, and looked inside the general vicinity of where King Robert was supposed to be sleeping this night.
After a few wrong ones, he finally found the correct room.
King Robert was currently pounding into a young and petite girl with Frey features.
Which ant that she was no great beauty.
He wondered if old Walder Frey had given King Robert one of his own daughters or granddaughters in hopes of getting a bastard of Royal blood in his own line.
He would not be surprised if such were the case, but the girl was probably a bastard of so maid or just so whore with Frey features.
With how many Frey n there were, he was sure that any bastard born to a whore in their nearby inns or taverns had Frey blood in them.
He put a few charms on the window. Thankfully, King Robert was facing the other side of the room, so it made his job easier.
He entered the room and put both the fucker and the fucked under a Confundus charm.
For all that Robert Baratheon was a king, he was rather weak-willed, and he took over his mind with absurd ease.
Doric first used Legilincy on the King to ensure he had no strange or evil ideas for House Bolton after arriving in the North.
Then he used a persuasion charm on the King and said. "You want your son Tomn to be betrothed to one of the Stark girls. You want your son Tomn to be betrothed to one of the Stark girls. You want your son Tomn to be betrothed to one of the Stark girls. Betroth your son Tomn, not Joffrey."
Because even if he didn’t care about Starks all that much, he didn’t want to see the girls at the little monster nad Joffrey’s claws.
As for which girl the King wanted Tomn betrothed to? Frankly, Doric didn’t really care.
Under normal circumstances, based on the agreent between Lord Stark and Doric, Lord Stark should never have accepted any proposal for Sansa. Even if the person he was dealing with was the king.
Because even the king couldn’t break the agreent between two lords without cause, otherwise, the other lords would generally be displeased with the situation and could turn Lord Stark and Doric against the King.
Therefore, the normal course of action was for Lord Stark to accept a betrothal for Arya.
But if Lord Stark broke his agreent with Doric and betrothed Sansa to one of the King’s children, Doric wouldn’t be too surprised.
And it would actually be to Doric’s advantage. Doric wasn’t the one who wanted to betroth with Sansa from the start; the Starks were the ones pushing for it.
Unlike Tyrion, Doric was well aware of the relationship between the King and Eddard Stark.
But Doric had a bigger ga in mind for this scenario. For this plan to work properly, he needed to pretend he trusted Lord Stark and pretend he didn’t want his betrothal to Sansa to be broken.
If Lord Stark were looking out for his own interests, it would be best if he didn’t break his promise to Doric; otherwise, he wouldn’t be happy with what Doric had in store for him.
Doric stepped away from the King and the girl, climbed out of the window, stepped on his hoverboard, and then released them from the spell.
They both looked a little confused for a mont before the King shrugged and continued pounding into the young girl.
There was a ti in his life when watching an older fat man fuck a young and helpless girl would have filled him with disgust, but he didn’t feel anything upon watching this scene.
This was one of the realities of this world, and there was no way Doric could fix everything in this world according to his own truths or the truths of his old world, at least not for a short ti.
All he could do was live according to his own truth and create a place where he could live according to his own truth.
What’s more, the girl was probably even enjoying this and hoping for a royal bastard to fill her womb.
He turned away from the scene and flew into the distance, where he landed in the middle of the forest.
The persuasion charm was relatively weak on its own and was most effective when applied regularly, which was why he had been using the charm on the King for the past few weeks and would continue to do so until the man reached Winterfell.
To make sure that no one was putting strange ideas into the King’s mind about his own lands, he had to visit him from ti to ti and read his mind until the King completed his journey anyway.
Once he had made another portkey from here to Dreadfort and from Dreadfort to his current location, he used the portkey to get back to his room.
He found Ygritte sitting in bed, studying a book by the light of a magical lamp.
Who would have thought that Ygritte would get attached to reading?
However, once you continue to do sothing for years, you beco attached to it.
He removed his magical clothes and climbed into bed beside her.
She was currently reading a book that he had taken from the Valyrian vaults.
It was a book about the everyday life of the Valyrians, and there was absolutely nothing magical about it, so he had given it to the scholars under him to translate it into the common language.
"Are you done with the Fat King?" she asked as she flipped another page of the book.
He smiled and pulled her in his arms. "Will have to do it a few more tis to make it stick. But it’ll work."
"You’ve done this to anyone else before?" she asked.
He thought about her words and nodded in agreent. "A few tis. The spell doesn’t always work exactly as I order it to, as it works on the subconscious, and people can sotis overpower their subconscious mind with conscious ones with enough willpower, but it should work this ti."
Ygritte knew that he had bewitched the King to betroth Tomn to one of the Stark girls, and she openly expressed her hope that it would be Sansa.
"You sure about that?" she asked, and he nodded before taking out another book from his satchel —a book about the magical runes of the Valyrians.
As both of them were pretty tired from all the training, they only studied for a bit longer before they both closed their books and put them on the nearby tables.
Afterwards, they talked for a while about the conversations they had left unfinished before Doric left, and Doric spoke to her for a long ti about why he wouldn’t leave her. And that she shouldn’t worry about it.
He then closed the magical lamp and pulled Ygritte into a spoon position before they both fell asleep.
