"My grandfather just told that he might never be able to protect again."
Levan looked terrified, but at least he managed to speak a full sentence, "He told to follow the ntor well from now on and not go back."
To young Levan, his grandfather was his world, his greatest reliance.
No matter what his grandfather said, he would agree and strive to accomplish it.
However, his grandfather was always good to him, never demanding much.
The only real request was to beco the ntor’s disciple.
Over the years, he kept this request close to his heart, showing utmost respect to the ntor, agreeing to every demand, and even offering everything he could without being asked.
But this ntor was quite peculiar and most of the ti didn’t accept what he offered.
Later, Kateya also beca strange, inexplicably turning cold towards him, leaving Levan a bit confused.
But through the ntor’s daily teachings, he vaguely understood sothing and stopped dwelling on these matters, treating Kateya as an ordinary friend.
And now, his biggest support said he could no longer protect him, instantly making him feel like his world was collapsing.
Panic-stricken, he involuntarily knocked on the ntor’s door, delivering this news to seek so advice or... comfort?
"Speaker Yassen..." Lor’s lips quivered, disbelief filling his eyes. He was actually quite nervous inside.
He was worried that his presence could trigger a butterfly effect affecting Murphy Continent and causing Speaker Yassen’s downfall.
But now wasn’t the ti for such thoughts; the urgent task was to calm young Levan down to prevent him from doing sothing reckless.
Lor took a deep breath, pressing both hands on Levan’s shoulders, and spoke seriously, "Young Levan, don’t worry. Speaker Yassen is at the pinnacle of the Alliance and isn’t easily hard."
"I have faith in Speaker Yassen, and you should have faith in your grandfather too, understand?"
"Yes, ntor." After Lor’s comforting words, Levan finally cald down a lot. Although he was still uneasy and tears kept streaming down his face, he was no longer as lost as before.
Just then, Kateya and Agular, alerted by the noise, also ca over.
With just one glance, they saw Levan crying incessantly.
"What’s going on?" Kateya asked in confusion.
Agular, intending to speak but seeing Kateya ask first, turned his gaze to Lor, waiting for an explanation.
Whether it was due to education or punishnt, making young Levan, such a well-behaved child, this upset was wrong.
If Lor didn’t give a reasonable explanation, Agular would stand up for young Levan today no matter what.
"There was an accident with Speaker Yassen."
Lor turned to the newcors with a serious expression, "You two calm young Levan down first; I need to ask Bruno to notify the Tower Master."
Having said that, he imdiately pulled out the Continent Communication Device and began to ssage Bruno.
He didn’t have contact with Cooper Wizard, so he could only indirectly notify through Bruno, the Great Wizard in charge of miscellaneous matters.
Kateya and Agular exchanged glances, feeling extrely heavy-hearted and puzzled at the sa ti.
They both knew very well that if young Levan was crying like this and Lor had to notify Master Cooper, it couldn’t just be a minor accident with Speaker Yassen.
But in this world, apart from other Speakers, who else could cause Speaker Yassen an accident?
The Alliance was now almost united, preparing for the expedition to the Abyss, so how could there be internal strife at the Speaker level?
Nurous doubts filled their hearts, but they dared not disturb Lor or reveal Levan’s wounds.
They could only bury these doubts and focus on calming young Levan.
...
Monts later, atop the peculiar volcano next to the Wizard Tower.
Cooper, who was focused on observing a seedling sprouting from the volcano’s mouth, paused and took out the Continent Communication Board to look at it.
Two consecutive ssages caught his eye.
"Faith Wizard went mad, Murphy Continent in critical danger, Abyssal Seal broken?" Cooper frowned at the first ssage.
What kind of nonsense is this?
If this ssage hadn’t co from the Alliance Headquarters, he would think soone was joking with him.
But there was no if; this ssage truly ca from the Alliance Headquarters.
He tapped with his right hand to view the next ssage.
"Yassen is in trouble, Hisham went mad..." Cooper’s frown deepened, "Seems it’s that restless Faith Wizard Hisham causing the trouble. With this, the Abyss..."
"Buzz—"
While Cooper was pondering, he suddenly saw a massive green pillar of light rise from the center of the continent, rapidly spreading outwards.
Soon after, eight other colored beams shot up from various places on the continent, reaching the sky.
Seeing this, Cooper didn’t hesitate to point his right hand at the Wizard Tower’s top.
"Buzz—"
A red and green dual-colored beam shot up, resonating with the other eight beams.
These differently colored beams converged over the continent’s sky, forming a gray, grid-like barrier that quickly spread across the entire continent.
Simultaneously, a total of nine screens automatically popped out from the Continent Communication Device, appearing in front of Cooper.
Among them were four Elental Mages and five Bloodline Wizards.
One with an elderly appearance, wearing a gray robe, was Warren Beaton, Speaker of Betula Continent, a Five-Ring Wood Elent Mage.
"Everyone, Nina rebelled and has been subdued by ,"
Warren spoke grimly, "Additionally, it is now confird that Murphy Continent has collapsed, Hisham is dead, Speaker Yassen is seriously injured and has been taken to Milton Continent by Speaker Jerald, now in a coma."
"The seals left by the Ancient Gods have shattered, releasing the Abyssal Seal. I won’t say more; you all know what to do."
"The only thing to note is that we need to protect the mortals now; rember to relocate the young ones from the Towers because the current Defense Shield can’t withstand Third-Tier and lower demons sneaking in."
After speaking, Warren directly closed the screen.
These Fourth-Ring Mages were veterans from warti and knew what needed to be done.
"Who knows how many years this war will last."
Cooper glanced at the net-like Defense Shield covering the continent and sighed slightly, "Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough ti to perfect the Continental Defense Shield, or there would be less concern about heavy mortal losses."
He swiftly operated the Communication Device and then flew straight out of the continent.
The Continental Defense Shield could stop Fourth-tier demons, but they still had to rely on these Fourth and Fifth-Ring Mages to deal with Fifth-tier demons.
...
Ruins of the Murphy Continent.
Now, the Murphy Continent had shattered into hundreds of small landmasses, and countless surviving mortals, even wizards, stared blankly at the demons surging like a tide from below.
"Humans..." A demon about a thousand miles tall with fierce bone spurs on its head casually slapped and killed tens of thousands of lower demons around it, looking greedily at the surviving humans on the countless land fragnts, with a sinister smile on its face.
In the endless Abyss below, more than sixty beings of similar size to it were making their way up through layer after layer of the Abyss.
