"Junior Vanen."
"Legislator Vanen."
Levan and another Fourth Ring Fire Elent Legislator Helan nodded in greeting.
"Senior Levan, Legislator Helan." Vanen nodded back at the group, then said, "Senior Levan and I have so matters to discuss, please head to the front line first."
"Alright."
"Understood."
The legislator accompanying Levan and three other Fourth Ring Wizards all responded without saying another word, bypassing Vanen and continuing toward the small teleportation array.
They were well aware of Levan and Vanen’s backgrounds.
One was the treasured student of Speaker Lor, and the other was not only Speaker Lor’s treasured student but also Speaker Yasen’s beloved grandson.
Even if these two did not go to the front line, no one would say a word.
As the saying goes, "One generation plants the trees, another gets the shade;" no one in this war had more right to the shade than they did.
"Junior Vanen, what’s going on?" Levan asked, a bit puzzled.
"It’s a bit noisy here, let’s find a quieter place to talk." Vanen said, looking around.
"Alright." Though puzzled, Levan didn’t hesitate and trusted Vanen.
Vanen activated the Void Realm Witchcraft, enveloping Levan within, then used the Spatial Mark left in the Lor Wizard Tower to perform a Space Jumping Witchcraft.
In the next instant, the two appeared in the Lor Wizard Tower on the 96th floor, in a laboratory where Lor’s students validated witchcraft with each other.
"Junior Vanen, what’s this about?" Levan, recognizing the familiar environnt outside the Void Imperial Realm Defense Shield, looked at Vanen with a surprised expression.
Vanen had brought him straight to their ntor’s wizard tower; what kind of earth-shattering secret could he want to share?
"Senior Levan, our ntor once instructed that when the Silver Wolf arrives, if he is unavailable, I am to bring you here to hold the position at the Lor Wizard Tower to prevent any unexpected incidents." Vanen said solemnly.
"Hold the position... at the Lor Wizard Tower?" Levan looked at Vanen incredulously.
The Lor Wizard Tower was on the Wizard Plane, nearly a hundred planes away from the Fog Shadow Plane where the war was happening—remarkably safe. What need was there to hold the position?
Unless...
"Exactly." Vanen nodded.
"Junior Vanen, do you believe our ntor’s words?" Levan said with a face full of resignation.
"No." Vanen shook his head decisively.
"Then why bring back?" Levan retorted, slightly annoyed.
"The ntor said you should hold the wizard tower. Are you going to disobey the ntor’s orders?" Vanen shrugged.
He clearly understood his ntor’s intention, which was to protect Senior Levan thoroughly.
Senior Levan might seem easygoing on regular days, but in such a crisis for the Wizard Alliance, he would certainly not remain in the rear obediently, even under strict orders.
Under such circumstances, he could only take the initiative by bringing him back first and persuading him afterward.
"And what about you?" Levan asked after a mont of silence.
"My task is to accompany Legislator Donico in a Space Jump, ensuring he reaches the most critical points of the front line for tily support." Vanen admitted honestly.
"You get to go; why can’t I contribute to the Wizard Alliance at the front line?" Levan objected. "Even my grandfather didn’t stop from going to the front line."
Vanen’s lips twitched, wanting to say sothing, but after hesitating, he didn’t convey Lor’s ssage, opting instead to persuade Levan from another angle: "I’m with Legislator Donico, so there’s no danger."
"But you might face Fifth Tier lifeforms breaching the Plane Defense Shield at the front line. If such a situation occurs when Legislator Donico’s Power of the Soul is exhausted, it would be extrely dangerous."
"Especially if it’s a Fifth Tier lifeform not afraid to sacrifice its essence, then..."
In the rapidly changing war, he supported Lor’s decision.
Levan going to the battlefield indeed had a high chance of encountering danger.
"Was that really what you intended to say before?" Levan noticed Vanen’s montary hesitation and pursued the matter, ignoring the persuasion, "What were you trying to say before?"
"The ntor ntioned that due to Speaker Yasen’s tacit consent, your parents perished at the war’s end." Vanen sighed. "He also said he doesn’t want you to face the sa fate, as you’re not only Speaker Yasen’s grandson but also his student."
He found those words hurtful, which was why he hadn’t said them earlier.
Yet, with Levan both pursuing the question and seemingly not intending to give up on the front line idea, he had no choice but to speak them.
"I understand." Levan nodded calmly, looking eastward.
His gaze seed to traverse ti and space, envisioning the Murphy Continent before its destruction, the most revered wizard tower at its center, himself as a child adored by the Red Dragon King, and his grandfather, whom he had never seen smile before the age of five.
Contemplating now, his grandfather seed to have taken five years to walk out from the shadow of his parents’ deaths and bring him out of Uncle Adams’ lair.
He clearly knew that Vanen’s words carried not an ounce of falsehood; he indeed stood a risk of dying in this war.
If he too perished in this war...
"Senior Levan, what is your plan?" Vanen asked, sowhat cautiously.
He had said all he could; if Levan still wouldn’t follow the ntor’s order, there was little else he could do but try to keep an eye on Levan at the front line.
It’s unfortunate he had his own task, or ensuring Senior Levan’s safety wouldn’t have been an issue.
As for those Third Ring Spatial Mages, their Space Jumping distances were too short, and a re brush with an attack at the Fourth Ring’s threshold could kill them, making them absolutely unsuitable for Levan’s protection.
"During the war, I’ll hold the Lor Wizard Tower." Levan sighed.
"I’m relieved to hear that from you." Vanen let out a sigh of relief.
"Go to the front line quickly, they need you there." Levan waved him off.
"Alright." Vanen nodded, stepping forward, and a spatial rift automatically appeared before him.
In the next instant, he vanished in front of Levan.
"Unknowingly, Junior Vanen already bears so resemblance to our ntor." Levan sighed again, looking at the slowly closing spatial rift.
...
Fog Shadow Plane, inside the barrier passage.
Dragon Bear Speaker led the charge, flying at the forefront of the Speakers, heading straight for the Tier Six beings, with the other Speakers closely following.
Over a hundred thousand miles ahead down the passage, many Tier Six beings were bewildered by the Speakers’ actions.
Not to ntion the group of Fourth and Fifth Tier beings behind them, just the seventy-eight Tier Six beings alone were more than double the indigenous beings’ numbers.
Facing such a disparity, the natives still dared to charge?
"What are they thinking?"
"First, that native with the Space Law Prototype acted like this, and now these Tier Six natives too, do they not know fear?"
"Lunatics, all the natives of this plane are lunatics!"
One Tier Six being after another communicated telepathically, expressing their confusion over the natives’ actions.
"Lord Tok, Lady Kali, what should we do now?" The Rock Giant ignored the confusion of its peers, and continued to seek the opinions of the two core vassal leaders.
As long as it kept these two satisfied, there was hope that when the Venerable God returned, they might put in a good word for it—perhaps the past issues could be overlooked.
"Thirty-six Tier Six beings, even with the support of our Fourth and Fifth Tier beings, we might not be able to end the battle quickly."
Tok pondered for a mont before voicing its opinion: "They likely have individuals who have also grasped the Law Prototypes. After all, that native with the Power of Space comprehended it, there’s no reason none of these people have."
"Given this, if we really take those Fourth and Fifth Tier beings in as well, by the ti the Venerable God returns, there might not be any progress."
"In my opinion, we should keep them occupied with our Tier Six forces and let the Fourth and Fifth Tier clan mbers attack that plane."
"As long as our clan can breach the plane, it will suffice for when the Venerable God returns."
"It makes sense." Kali nodded in agreent.
"Alright, let’s keep them occupied, prevent them from going back to support."
"Understood."
"Lord Tok has considered everything thoroughly."
The Tier Six beings, while flattering, gave orders to the clan mbers in the rear, anwhile accelerating towards the Tier Six natives opposite them.
They naturally would not oppose the decisions made by the two core vassal leaders.
