Chapter 63: Chapter 61: I’ve Been Seen Through?

Allen ignored the surrounding clamor as the other apprentices complained about the difficulty of the quests.

Inside Allen’s mind, DSeek had already presented the results of its model analysis.

[Quest: High-Altitude Patrol of the Thundering Mountain Range. Risk: High. Reward: dium. Uncontrollable weather and Magical Beast risks present. Rejected.]

[Quest: Sample Collection in the Anti-Gravity Hills, located in the Second Ring Belt. Risk: High. Reward: Unknown. Rejected.]

[Quest: Clean up experintal contamination leak in the Sinking Dream Swamp. Risk: dium. Reward: Low. Purely manual labor; return on investnt is unacceptable. Rejected.]

Quest after quest was marked with a red X.

Only one quest, ignored by the vast majority, was highlighted, accompanied by a detailed evaluation report.

Quest Locked: [Team Quest] Hunt the Crystal Shell Burrowing Insect in the Silent Forest

[Quest Requirent: Obtain one full carapace.]

[Team Size: 4 mbers.]

[Quest Reward: 800 Low-Level Magic Stones.]

[Risk Assessnt: Low-dium (Controllable).]

[Reward Assessnt: High hidden profit.]

This quest had been hanging at the bottom of the list for a long ti, completely ignored.

It required a four-person team, yet the total reward was only 800 Magic Stones, aning each person would only get a asly 200.

The Crystal Shell Burrowing Insect was notoriously a tough nut to crack. Its carapace was so hard that even so Dissociation Magic was ineffective against it, and its flesh and blood yielded no valuable materials.

For Wizard Apprentices focused on efficiency and profit, this was a completely losing proposition.

Allen’s gaze fell on the words "High hidden profit."

He pulled up the detailed report.

The first part of the report was an analysis of the Crystal Shell Burrowing Insect.

This Magical Beast had astonishing physical defense and dium magic resistance, but it was slow-moving, had only a single attack thod, and possessed low intelligence.

DSeek ran a simulation based on Allen’s current Witchcraft models for "Craftsman’s Hand" and "Magic Missile." The conclusion was that as long as the insect’s movent was restricted, using continuous, targeted explosions to break the weak points at its carapace joints was only a matter of ti.

The second part of the report, however, was the key.

[Hidden Profit Point Analysis:]

[Associated Resources in Target Area: According to the *Silent Forest Ecological Report (7th Edition)*, the active region of the Crystal Shell Burrowing Insect has soil rich in a trace earth elent, which is the optimal environnt for the growth of ’Moonlight Moss’.]

[Market Data Analysis: ’Moonlight Moss’ is a core supplentary material for crafting ’High-Level ntal Recovery Potions’. A month ago, the main production area of ’Moonlight Moss’ in the ’Sinking Dream Swamp’ was contaminated by an Official Wizard’s experint, causing a sharp decline in market supply. Over the past 15 days, the purchase price of ’Moonlight Moss’ has increased by 327%.]

[Profit Estimate: Collecting ’Moonlight Moss’ while completing the quest can generate additional inco.]

[Conclusion: This quest possesses extrely high hidden profit potential. Its overall cost-benefit ratio ranks first among all remaining quests. Acceptance recomnded.]

The corners of Allen’s mouth turned up in a faint, almost imperceptible smile.

An image of Victor Iron Fla’s disdainful expression flashed through his mind.

’Perhaps in the eyes of those scions from noble families, this thod of profiting from an information gap is just another example of the so-called "wisdom of the poor."’

He strode through the noisy crowd toward the enormous Magic Light Curtain displaying the quests.

His calm and unhurried deanor drew a few surprised glances.

Under everyone’s gaze, Allen reached out with his long, slender fingers and lightly tapped the ignored quest on the cold Magic Light Curtain.

[Team Quest: Hunt the Crystal Shell Burrowing Insect in the Silent Forest]

The quest entry on the light curtain instantly lit up, and a new signature appeared at the end—Allen Wesren.

"He took the burrowing insect quest?"

"Has he lost his mind? Or is he new and doesn’t know what a trap this quest is?"

The surrounding chatter reached his ears, but Allen acted as if he hadn’t heard a thing.

A new system notification appeared on the light curtain before him.

"Please recruit three teammates or join an existing team with open spots within 24 hours. Failure to form a team by the deadline will result in automatic quest failure."

Allen turned, his gaze sweeping across the entire hall.

In his eyes, the people who had just been gossiping about him now beca "resources" awaiting evaluation.

The bad news was that the quest was a leftover, and so were the people here. They were either newly promoted Advanced Apprentices or "hardship cases" who struggled to find teammates because their field of study left them with little combat power in the early stages.

But at this point, he just had to make the best of a bad situation.

He needed a "tank" who could draw the burrowing insect’s attention head-on. High attack power wasn’t necessary; preferably, it would be a Wizard Apprentice from the Bloodline School or one specializing in defensive Witchcraft.

He needed a "controller" who could cast slowing or binding types of Magic, creating an opportunity for his Magic Missiles to deal damage.

Finally, he needed a "support," who could be a healer, a scout, or an apprentice capable of processing materials, responsible for navigation and for collecting the Moonlight Moss and carapace after the battle.

His gaze settled on the most remote corner of the hall.

Two Advanced Apprentices stood there. One was tall and burly, built like a bear, while the other was unkempt. Both were sighing at the quest list, their faces etched with worry.

Just then, a girl wearing the robes of a Mind School Advanced Wizard walked up to Allen.

"Can I help you?"

Allen spoke before the girl could get close, his voice cold and devoid of any emotion.

The girl seed taken aback by his blunt question. The heavy notebook she was cradling slipped a little, and she hastily fumbled to secure it.

"My na is Lina. I... I saw that you accepted that quest."

Her voice was a little quiet, but her eyes were bright as she looked directly at Allen. "I want to join your team."

Allen’s brow twitched almost imperceptibly.

’Join my team?’

"Reason," Allen’s reply was concise.

"Because you..." Lina seed to be searching for the right word. Allen’s reflection appeared in her azure eyes, and that unique "emotional spectrum" materialized once more. "...You’re very ’harmonious.’"

"Harmonious?" Allen’s thoughts stuttered for a mont.

That was an adjective he had never considered before.

In his world, things were only divided into "efficient" and "inefficient," "advantageous" and "disadvantageous."

"Yes, harmonious. I saw you training at the flight training grounds."

Lina nodded vigorously, as if afraid Allen wouldn’t understand, and began gesturing in the air with her fingers.

"Other people’s power is like red flas or green vines; it twists and goes out of control. But your power... it’s blue, with so many silver threads inside... They’re calculating, arranging themselves, like an astrolabe... It’s beautiful."

Allen’s pupils contracted slightly.

’It’s the person who was spying on

before!’

’Can she "see" the essence of my power?’

’Or can she perceive the data stream of pure logic that DSeek generates when it’s computing?’

This was far beyond the scope of a simple [Detect Magic Power].

[Warning: Target possesses an unrecorded special sensory ability, capable of penetrating conventional ntal camouflage to directly observe the underlying structure of thought and energy. Risk assessnt upgraded: Unknown.]

"Unknown" was the word that put Allen on highest alert. But at the sa ti, another word popped into his mind—value.

An ability that could see through to the essence of power naturally had its own potential value.
