Chapter 59: Chapter 57: The Dual-Core Era

Allen returned to his dorm, room 21 on the fifth floor of the Black Tower of the Forge. The tal door shut out all sound from the outside.

The room was quiet. On the massive worktable, the mountain of textbooks, daily necessities, and various instrunts had already been put away neatly.

He washed his face and got right to work.

One must sharpen the axe before chopping the wood.

Allen understood this principle better than anyone.

The thirteen Magic models he had just brought back from the library were like a gold mine waiting to be excavated.

And the "sub-thread of thought" derived from his *Myriad Machine Resonance ditation thod* was the sharpest, most efficient pickaxe for the job.

As far as he was concerned, inscribing a permanent piece of Witchcraft wouldn’t take very long.

The sub-thread of thought would play a massive role in his tactical system and accelerate his learning, so he decided to forge this "pickaxe" first.

Allen took out ten High-Level ntal Recovery Potions from his Space Ring and lined them up neatly within reach.

These pale blue liquids shimred in their glass vials, expensive consumables that would make any ordinary Advanced Apprentice flinch at the cost.

But in his eyes, this was a necessary investnt, regardless of the cost.

Right now, ti was the most precious resource.

He closed his eyes, and his consciousness instantly sank into his Spiritual World.

The Star Map, composed of thirty-six basic Runes, operated steadily. Beside it sat the recently completed Permanent Rune Matrix, still and silent like a honeycomb, its empty slots awaiting the installation of Witchcraft models.

Allen’s gaze swept past them, settling on a deeper structure within his Sea of Consciousness—the foundational template for the Mind Split Rune Array, forcibly imprinted by Master rcer.

This template was more complex than any Rune structure he had ever encountered, resembling a precision machine made of innurable delicate gears and struts.

DSeek had broken the entire construction process down into 321 steps. Each step was annotated with the precise value of Spiritual Power output, the shaping angle down to the smallest fraction of a degree, and the activation sequence for each node.

[Auxiliary construction program initiated. Step one: Will Rune foundation construction.]

Allen marshaled his Spiritual Power, directing it like a fine engraving needle toward the template’s first node.

The instant his Spiritual Power made contact, he felt the imnse difficulty of the task.

It felt like performing micro-carvings on a piece of tofu; the slightest mistake would cause the entire structure to collapse in a chain reaction.

His Spiritual Power output had to be controlled with absolute precision—not too much, not too little.

[Warning: Spiritual Power output fluctuation exceeds 7%. Model stability is decreasing.]

Allen imdiately adjusted his breathing, forcing himself into a state of absolute focus.

A bead of sweat trickled from his temple and slid down his cheek.

He could clearly feel his Spiritual Power draining away at a high rate. His consciousness felt as if it were being ground against a whetstone, sending waves of stinging pain through him.

Ten minutes later, the foundation of the first Will Rune had barely taken shape.

Allen’s face had already grown pale. The consumption of Spiritual Power was far greater than he had anticipated.

Without pausing, he uncorked a High-Level ntal Recovery Potion and downed it in one go.

The cool liquid slid down his throat, rapidly replenishing the drained ocean of his Spiritual Power.

He threw himself back into constructing the second step.

Ti seed to fly by in his state of extre concentration.

One day, two days... Aside from resting and attending class, Allen was completely imrsed in the delicate operations within his Sea of Consciousness.

The only sounds in the room were his steady, deep breaths and the occasional soft pop of an uncorked potion.

The ten potions at his side dwindled, one bottle at a ti.

It was a contest of his own willpower, the cruelest test of his ntal control.

The slightest tremor in his Spiritual Power output could render all his previous work useless.

He experienced several minor structural collapses. Each ti, it felt as if his brain had been struck by a sledgehamr, bringing on intense dizziness and nausea.

But he wasn’t the least bit discouraged. He simply reflected on the problem calmly and started over.

This experience, like dancing on a knife’s edge, didn’t make him flinch. Instead, it stirred the stubborn, unyielding spirit deep within him.

「Late on the third night.」

As he set aside the empty vial of the last High-Level ntal Recovery Potion, Allen’s Spiritual Power was also on the verge of complete depletion.

His face was as pale as paper and his lips were chapped, but his blue eyes shone with an astonishing light in the darkness.

Within his Sea of Consciousness, only the last core Rune of the Mind Split Rune Array remained—the Will Rune, symbolizing "Dominion," was about to be completed.

This Rune was the hub of the entire matrix, connecting every part of the structure.

[Final step: Inscribe the Dominion Rune’s core node. Maintain stable Spiritual Power tracing for three seconds.]

DSeek issued the final instruction.

Allen mustered every last bit of his remaining Spiritual Power, condensing it into a steel chisel and plunging it toward the final node.

HUMMM—

An indescribable hum resonated from the deepest part of his consciousness.

His entire Spiritual World shuddered violently, as if the singularity of the Big Bang had just unfolded.

The newly completed Mind Split Rune Array erupted in a blindingly brilliant flash of light. After the light subsided, a new, independent consciousness had quietly branched off from his main consciousness, taking on a life of its own.

It was like his main consciousness’s reflection in a mirror, yet it possessed its own independent "intellect" and the ability to think.

Allen could clearly "see" it, "hear" it, and even sense it as it began to think.

The sub-thread of thought was a success.

He imdiately issued the first command.

’DSeek, access the sub-thread of thought. Establish a coupling link.’

[Executing... Establishing coupling link...]

On DSeek’s light screen, a stream of data branched off from the main system and was injected with precision into the newborn sub-thread.

The sub-thread’s initially vague and chaotic thought processes beca rational and clear.

If it had previously been a student with the cognitive and thinking abilities of soone with a grade-school education, then with the support of DSeek’s processing power, it instantly matured into a master’s-level engineer with a built-in computer.

[Coupling complete. Rebooting First Sub-Thread...]

[Assessnt Report: Sub-thread of thought’s current IQ has increased from 30% of the main thread to 85.7%. Thought speed and logical processing power have increased by over 500%.]

Allen imdiately experienced the enormous benefits of this leap in efficiency.

With a single thought, he entered a state of deep ditation using his *Myriad Machine Resonance ditation thod* to recover his Spiritual Power and Magic Power.

At the sa ti, he issued a command.

’First Thread, retrieve the Magic Missile Magic model. Begin data analysis and learning.’

The two commands were issued simultaneously, and the two processes began in parallel, without interfering with each other.

His main consciousness slowly settled, and his depleted Spiritual Power began to recover, drop by drop.

anwhile, the new consciousness, now nad "First Thread," began to study and learn Magic Missile with DSeek’s assistance.

In the past, this kind of work would have required Allen’s full concentration, leaving no room for distractions.

But now, while his body and main consciousness rested and recovered, his "second brain" was learning in a low-power state.

One brain handled logistics and recovery, while the other handled learning and research.

The sub-thread’s learning efficiency reached 75% of the main thread’s, while the main consciousness’s recovery speed remained completely unaffected.

This ant that in the sa amount of ti, he could accomplish nearly twice the amount of work as before.

’This feeling... it’s incredible.’

Allen’s main consciousness felt his Spiritual Power slowly returning, while simultaneously "observing" the sub-thread as it rapidly analyzed the Magic model.

Knowledge was gradually absorbed, understood, and digested. The two consciousnesses shared a single mory bank. To his main consciousness, it felt as if knowledge was being fed to him through an IV drip, falling like rain from a clear sky to slowly nourish his mind.

’I rember my teachers in my past life always saying they wished they could just pour their knowledge directly into our heads,’ he thought. ’And now, I’ve actually done it.’

The sense of urgency from his compulsory mission was greatly alleviated at that mont.

Allen also tested if he could cast two spells at once, an ability belonging to a certain Witchcraft School. He found the idea was currently unachievable; his mind simply couldn’t bear the load. Perhaps a Wizard of the School of Alchemy would need to reach the rank of Advanced Wizard to accomplish such a feat.

His total Spiritual Power and Magic Power hadn’t increased, but he could now use one consciousness to maintain a piece of Witchcraft while the other cast a spell.

For example, the First Thread could continuously channel Magic Power to maintain a stable Magic Shield and control his Flying Skateboard, while his main consciousness observed the battlefield and instantly cast Magic Missile. This massively enhanced his practical combat abilities.

Allen opened his eyes and glanced at the deep darkness of the night outside his window.

He knew that from this mont forward, his path as a Wizard was entering a new era.

The age of dual-core thought had just begun.

Although activating this "dual-core processor" would increase the strain on his brain, he now had far more confidence to face any challenge that ca his way.
