Half a month later.
Mandy sat idly behind the counter, twirling a magic pen made from a special stone in her hand.
"Nothing much has happened recently..."
"I wonder if that boy Lynn can successfully brew the Silence Potion. I’m waiting on it."
She muttered to herself and took out a sheet of magic paper from the cabinet with a flick of her hand.
Lines of text began to appear on the paper.
"Abyss Cottage anomaly?"
Frowning slightly, Mandy slowly sat up straight, her expression becoming sowhat serious, and wrote a few lines on the paper with her pen.
"Trouble!"
The magic paper in her hand was evidently so kind of communication tool, and the text that appeared intermittently was likely from various people.
Similar to...
A group chat?
The participants of this group chat were of varied identities, and the ssages ca from all sorts of sources, providing a glimpse into a wealth of useful information.
As they were chatting intensely, Mandy seed to sense sothing, and she looked up towards the door with a hint of news on her face.
"Little Lynn, eting again?"
"Yes."
Lynn nodded, his face a bit pale, as he took out so potions and handed them over:
"Sister Mandy, please take a look at the results of my recent efforts, one Silence Potion, and the rest are Calming Potions."
"Oh!" Mandy raised an eyebrow:
"So fast?"
Brewing a single Silence Potion in half a month is not considered fast, but it’s different for a novice.
She had originally thought that Lynn wouldn’t succeed until the end of the month.
It seems that...
Geniuses always surprise you!
"It is indeed a Silence Potion, and the quality is better than last ti." Mandy nodded after checking the potion, and just as she was about to say sothing, her eyebrows raised:
"Your eyes..."
"Oh!"
Lynn touched his eyebrows:
"I recently learned a new piece of witchcraft."
Upon hearing this, Mandy nodded thoughtfully.
Last ti he was here, she had noticed that Lynn’s eyes were sowhat red, but at that ti she thought it was due to fatigue causing bloodshot eyes.
This ti it’s different.
Looking closely, there was a faint red halo around Lynn’s pupils, like a burning fla.
It also gave him a unique aura.
"Tsk tsk..."
Mandy clicked her tongue twice and shook her head with a smile:
"Little Lynn, you already have a striking appearance, and now with a pair of beautiful eyes, who knows how many people you’ll charm in the future."
"I heard that when you were at the academy, there was a female wizard who admired you a lot, what’s her na..."
"Natalie Witch?"
"Sister Mandy, don’t joke around." Lynn waved his hands quickly:
"Senior Natalie just cares about the apprentices’ studies. If others hear about it, I’ll be in big trouble."
"Hehe..." Mandy’s eyes curved into crescents:
"Afraid?"
Natalie was an Official Wizard of Viper Academy and a genius, just in her early twenties.
For such a person, becoming a Second Ring Wizard is certain, and she may even hope to beco a Third Ring.
Countless people had their eyes on her, and if rumors spread of any involvent with Lynn, anyone would be able to crush him.
Even if those lofty people wouldn’t bother to deal with a small apprentice, those around them would resort to so ans to curry favor.
After exchanging a few laughs, Lynn chose to exchange the potions for materials and then bid farewell and left.
With the market bustling with people coming and going, Lynn had no intention of staying, so he quickly headed towards his residence.
Hmm?
He hadn’t gone far when he suddenly frowned and looked up towards the sky.
A ball of fla appeared in the sky at so point.
No!
That wasn’t a fla!
It was the light and heat reaction from a teorite rubbing against the atmosphere.
Lynn’s eyes widened, an invisible pressure bore down on him, causing his breathing to pause and making it difficult to move.
"Boom!"
A deafening roar resounded.
The teorite descending from the sky collided with a Wizard Tower suspended over Vier Town.
The intense explosion unleashed a tempestuous fiery fla, and the sky over the entire town was instantly covered with rubble and fire.
"Crackling..."
The debris scattered all over the ground, creating holes when it struck rooftops, and landing on a person would be fatal.
"Ah!"
"What’s going on?"
"Get out of the way!"
The street erupted into chaos, with everyone yelling and dodging haphazardly as the sudden event caught them off guard.
Lynn’s expression was grave as he took out a magic wand from his belongings and gave it a gentle wave, surrounding himself with a fla shield.
He then nimbly dodged the falling debris and fireballs.
Through the flas above, more and more teorites could be seen descending from the sky, crashing towards Vier Town.
One of the Wizard Towers guarding the town had already been destroyed, leaving the remaining two operating at full capacity.
The entire Vier Town had been set up with a magic array, which was now fully activated to resist the sudden attack.
"Ah!"
"What the hell is this?"
"..."
Hearing the noise, Lynn turned his head, his eyes narrowing.
He saw one of the descending debris pieces writhing and morphing slowly into a ferocious and terrifying spider.
With a screech, the spider emitted web-like silk from its abdon, wrapping a few nearby people.
Simultaneously, its sharp spider legs thrust out, penetrating through bodies.
Not just spiders.
Poisonous snakes, toads, and even man-eating crocodiles hidden within the teorite fragnts all rushed out.
Magic creatures!
These creatures exuded a cold, eerie aura, akin to abyss creatures.
Lynn’s eyes glead as he gave his magic wand a swift wave, launching multiple fire bolts that sent a demon snake flying. He then turned and ran towards Mandy’s shop.
Shops on the main street of Vier Town each had defensive formations and barriers, making them safer to hide within.
’What’s going on?’
’Where did these monsters co from?’
As he sprinted, Lynn scoured his predecessor’s mory, recalling that Viper Academy had introduced this matter.
’Abyss!’
Wizards of the Calim Continent, in their pursuit of greater heights, road across various dinsions and worlds, and naturally, so powerful wizards had explored the abyss, which represented the fallen will of countless worlds.
However, the abyss’s will is extrely terrifying. Whenever a wizard goes in, the continent would be detected by the abyss.
Thus creating abyss rifts.
Wizards, however, do not reject the power of the abyss.
After all, in the eyes of wizards, power does not hold any moral value as long as it can be utilized.
Certain wizards even cultivate using the power of the abyss and build their academies near abyss rifts.
Near Viper Academy, there was such a place.
Abyss Cottage!
This was a powerful organization ford by nurous Black Wizards and had Fourth Ring Wizards. It was the common enemy of several nearby wizard factions.
"Lynn!"
Mandy’s voice rang out from the front:
"Co quickly!"
The shop’s magic barrier was already activated, and Mandy was casting spells rapidly to let Lynn in.
Lynn’s eyes lit up, and he quickly sped up his pace, only to be caught up in a gale that lifted him.
"Boom!"
Two First Tier Creatures landed nearby, causing the ground to tremble.
Mandy’s movents halted sharply.
Opening and closing the barrier required a long enough ti, giving the abyss creatures outside enough ti to rush in.
Seeing Lynn just a short distance away, she could only shake her head in helpless resignation.
"Sigh!"
Lynn sighed.
He couldn’t just demand opening the barrier for himself; their relationship wasn’t that developed.
"Out of town!"
Mandy shouted loudly:
"Run towards the outside of the town!"
Lynn turned back, looking towards the core of Vier Town, where the sounds of battle and roars continued relentlessly.
Rather, it was relatively safer in the outskirts of the town despite so chaos.
He nodded towards her:
"Sister Mandy, take care."
Taking a deep breath, he turned and dashed towards the outskirts of the town.
