The Walker family’s Bloodline was quite ordinary and couldn’t make Harvey Legendary, unless he took a Potion containing the essence of origin.

But such a thing would make even a Second Circle Wizard envious, so why would it fall into Harvey’s hands?

At that ti...

Desperate, it was still unknown what the situation would be.

"The amulet is in hand."

Carl touched the amulet and said, "Find a few more mid-to-late First Order Seals, preferably control-type or ones with great power."

"What are you going to do?" Old Brin asked curiously. "First Order Middle Stage ones are sotis available, but First Order Late Stage ones are rare. You don’t go to the market, so what do you need these for?"

Amulets, Seals, even the Wizard Tower...

These weren’t things that a Wizard preparing for secluded cultivation needed, and he most likely couldn’t afford them.

"They’re useful."

Carl didn’t explain much. "Let know when there’s news."

「...」

Back at the shop, before he could settle down and regather his senses, two unexpected guests ca to visit.

"Is it you?"

Seeing the newcors, Carl’s eyes shifted. Then, he put on an indifferent, light smile, gestured for the two to sit down, and said, "In a few more days, it’ll be the deadline. I thought my loan had gone to waste."

The arrivals turned out to be Anglie and Gerry from the small group of four.

Having disappeared for several months, they looked haggard, as if they hadn’t rested for days.

"Senior..." Anglie opened his mouth, his voice hoarse. "Lu Ya is dead."

I know.

Carl pursed his lips. Since signing the contract, he had been able to vaguely sense Lu Ya’s and Gerry’s status.

About three months ago, Lu Ya’s presence had vanished from his perception.

However, when the small team of four was originally ambushed and cornered, they had been forced to flee into the depths of the ruins. It was a desperate situation, seeming more likely to end in failure than success, and he had thought they would all perish. Unexpectedly, two had survived.

"Although Lu Ya is dead, the loan we agreed on must still be repaid. Here is the Four-Directional Floating Stone."

Anglie took out a spatial Witch Artifact and with a shake of his hand, produced the Four-Directional Floating Stone. "Apart from repaying the Magic Stones Lu Ya and Gerry borrowed from you, I hope to get a vial of Grin Potion from you with the rest."

"Of course..." he added, "If you don’t have it, we can exchange it at the price of one hundred Magic Stones per piece."

Grin Potion?

Carl actually had two doses on him, which were among the spoils from raiding the Andrew family’s beast field.

"Not defaulting on a debt even when one is dead—truly a show of integrity. I do enjoy doing business with those who honor their word," Carl chuckled lightly. He swept up the Floating Stone with his sleeve, placed a vial of Grin Potion on the table, and then asked earnestly, "May I know your na, friend?"

"Anglie," Anglie replied, his gaze fixed on the Grin Potion with fervor, yet he didn’t rush to take it. "Wizard sir, my friend temporarily has nowhere to go. Would it be possible for her to stay here for a while? I can pay."

"Friend?" Carl glanced sideways at Gerry, his eyes flickering slightly. "No need for paynt. I happen to be in need of a helper. She’s welco to stay if she wishes."

"I’m willing," Gerry nodded firmly.

"Then it’s settled." Anglie picked up the Grin Potion, nodded at Gerry, and walked toward the door.

Although the two were close companions who had shared life-and-death experiences, their interaction felt like that of strangers.

Gerry watched Anglie leave, a flicker in her beautiful eyes.

This person...

Was not the Anglie she knew!

In the depths of those ruins, surrounded by nurous spirits, she had fallen into unconsciousness in her desperation.

When she woke up, she was already in a safe area.

From that day on, Gerry noticed so change in Anglie; he beca more and more unfamiliar.

Just like...

He had beco a different person!

The paths in the ruins were complex and also impaired one’s perception, making it a natural labyrinth, yet Anglie always found the correct path.

The Anglie she knew definitely couldn’t have done that!

Fortunately, he treated her relatively well and was even willing to pay off the loan, so she refrained from arguing due to various concerns.

"Gerry."

Carl tapped the table, his eyes contemplative. "Your friend seems to have acquired sothing extra, hasn’t he?"

Gerry’s heart tensed.

"It doesn’t matter," Carl shrugged, not intending to delve further. He tossed a book to her, saying, "In a few days, a man nad Harvey will co here. You’ll practice Martial Arts with him then."

"Take a look at what’s in here and discuss it with him."

His ti was precious; he didn’t have much to spare for teaching. Gerry, however, was quite skilled and just the right person to lend a hand. This was also why he had agreed to take her in.

「Years later」

The group that had escaped from Freedom Port years ago picked up their weapons and set out again on the road they had co.

Conni and Susan, now married, stood shoulder to shoulder, looking ahead with complex expressions.

"Who would have thought..."

"That one day we could go back!"

The people they once knew were now gone, one by one, and their lives had changed dramatically.

"Yes."

Ayala caught up on horseback. "Conni, are you sure you want to hand over command of the troops to ?"

"Mm-hmm."

Conni nodded. "Your ability to command an army has been recognized by everyone. The Dragon King Chamber of Comrce and the Sea God Assembly’s armies unanimously agree for you to take over."

"Especially since both presidents are absent."

The situation in Jiliu City was quite special. Due to the suppressive presence of the Legendary Knight and the mysterious Alchemist, Carl, it was nearly impossible for the two chambers of comrce to engage in direct conflict. So, they focused entirely on developing the economy.

This also led to a very peaceful atmosphere within the city; even mbers of the two chambers of comrce could work together harmoniously.

"Alright then!"

Ayala didn’t delay. She took command and began to deploy the troops.

Shield-bearers were at the front, spearn behind them, followed by archers. Every ten n, an armored Knight observed the surroundings.

Those with Dharma Seals were also positioned appropriately according to their Seals’ abilities.

These arrangents, while seemingly simple, truly tested a commander’s grasp and understanding of their army.

Throughout Jiliu City, only Ayala could achieve this.

「Elsewhere.」

Carl squinted in the direction of Freedom Port. He reached out and caught a ssenger Pigeon, removing the paper strip from its leg.

The paper listed the information i Lun had gathered.

"Apart from Jiliu City, of the forces going to Freedom Port to exterminate the Sharkn this ti, only three truly possess Legendary-level strength: the Dark Market, the City of Death, and Cold Spring City, which has the Cold Moon Knight."

"The Dark Market sent the Ghost-Faced Knight. The City of Death sent i Weiya’s top expert—the Blood Knight—and also Miss Oviana. As for Cold Spring City, it was naturally the Cold Moon Knight."

I just don’t know if there are other experts.

Apart from the enigmatic Oviana, the rest were veterans renowned for decades.

The strongest among them?

Should be the City of Death’s Blood Knight!

"The Blood Knight once single-handedly slaughtered a fortress of over a thousand people. His strength is very likely First Order Late Stage, or at the very least, the peak of First Order Middle Stage."

Hmm...

If I confront him without resorting to Wizardry, my chances of winning aren’t great.

"The Ghost-Faced Knight and Cold Moon Knight are probably First Order Middle Stage, and could even be rely First Order Early Stage."

As for Oviana...

Carl stroked his chin. "This woman bears the aura of i Weiya, City Lord of the City of Death. Her strength should not be too weak."

"The City Lord’s mansion has been overrun. City Lord Sodan is very likely dead, perhaps hiding sowhere. However, the others in the mansion must have been mutated into monsters by the power of the Evil God. The question is, where is the warehouse that stores the Great Divine Grace?"

"Uncle!" Ayala’s voice ca from beside him.

"Hmm?" Carl returned to his senses. "What’s up?"

"The troops are all set up. With our current strength, we can hold off the Blue-Eyed Sharkn, but the Legendary Realm Sharkn..."

"Understood." Carl nodded knowingly. "I’ll take care of the Red-Eyed Sharkn."

With a flick of his sleeve, he released the Magic Flying Carpet, instantly stood atop it, and piloted the carpet high into the sky.

From high above, the view was much clearer.

Sitting cross-legged on the carpet, Carl took out several Witchcraft Puppets, activating them one by one and sending them flying.

These Witchcraft Puppets were all bird-shaped, remarkably lifelike, and unlikely to arouse suspicion.

Unlike in the Magic Forest. There, Wizards were common, and Witchcraft Puppets couldn’t escape a Wizard’s spiritual detection, forcing the use of living creatures like insects and birds for observation.

In this Otherworld, however, it was the opposite. Sharkn would devour living things like insects and birds but showed no reaction to inanimate objects like Witchcraft Puppets.

Several Puppets flew off in different directions, with one, a sparrowhawk-like bird, flying straight towards Freedom Port.

Before the others arrived, Carl intended to explore the City Lord’s mansion himself.
