Banshee’s Howl!
SCREECH!
The sharp, piercing sound vibrated rapidly upon hitting the eardrums, instantly transforming into a bewitching female voice.
Blankness imdiately appeared in the eyes of Vincent and his companion.
Opportunity!
Light flashed in Schtrude’s eyes.
He didn’t take the chance to escape but, like Millie, unleashed witchcraft as he rapidly advanced on the two n.
BANG!
PFFT!
Witchcraft flew like streaks of light.
Vincent staggered backward, spitting blood, but his consciousness also broke free from the Banshee’s Howl’s influence. "Looks like when the Carpe family fell, you took a lot of good things with you," he sneered. "All the better for . Once I kill you, everything you have will be mine!"
"Die!"
In a roar of rage, Vincent waved the Magic Wand in his hand, its movents leaving trails of afterimages as One-Circle Witchcraft bombarded them relentlessly.
Boulders shattered, vegetation was blasted apart, and both Millie and Schtrude were thrown heavily to the ground.
"Haha..." Vincent, gasping for air, stepped forward to approach them, but suddenly a sense of warning surged in his heart, and he turned around abruptly.
He saw a massive hamr smashing down fiercely.
BANG!
Terrifying brute force erupted. A layer of protective Spirit Light appeared around Vincent, but it shattered instantly.
PFFT!
Vincent flew backward, vomiting blood, and growled, "The Gravity Hamr! You’re from Bloodclaw... No! Who are you, really?"
The Gravity Hamr had originally belonged to that Bloodline Wizard from Bloodclaw. However, after their ambush at the beast farm failed and resulted in his death, the weapon vanished. Now it has surfaced...
"Vincent!" Carl grinned. "When you betrayed to ’Bloodclaw,’ did you ever imagine this day would co for you?"
As he spoke, Carl brought the hamr down again and again, his terrifying strength crushing all resistance.
"Friend!"
"That was a misunderstanding!"
"Don’t kill ! I’m an Official Wizard of the Andrew family. If you kill , you won’t escape either!"
"I can compensate you!"
"Spare my life!"
BANG!
His pleas were to no avail. Carl hamred down several tis, killing the already weakened Vincent on the spot.
Bits of red and white flew everywhere from the shattered skull, and the headless body wobbled montarily before toppling to the ground.
「Elsewhere.」
Millie and Schtrude had also tead up to kill the white-haired Wizard. The three of them exchanged glances, the atmosphere turning tense.
"Well?" Carl smirked. "Is this how you treat your lifesaver?"
"..." Millie’s beautiful eyes flickered. She then slowly lowered her Magic Wand, showing goodwill. "Thank you for your assistance, friend."
"Don’t ntion it. I had a grudge against Vincent too," Carl waved his hand, skillfully looting the corpse. "The corpse next to you is also mine. No objections, right?"
Schtrude’s expression changed, and he was about to speak when Millie suddenly reached out to stop him.
"Of course." Millie pulled Schtrude back. "Without our friend’s intervention, we’d be dead. The spoils are rightfully yours."
"Haha..." Carl laughed heartily. "Sensible!"
He strode over to the white-haired Wizard’s corpse, looted it in front of them, and then, without another word, turned and left.
"Millie." Watching the figure retreat into the distance, Schtrude frowned. "He’s just a Legendary Knight, even if he’s First-Order Middle Stage. The two of us don’t need to be afraid of him."
"Legendary Knight?" Millie shook her head lightly, her expression grave. "You know the witchcraft I practice enhances perception. This person is definitely more than just a Legendary Knight."
"Hmm?" Schtrude raised an eyebrow. "You an..."
"I’m not sure," Millie said. "But I sense a danger from him no less than Vincent’s. Besides, he did save us, so there’s no need to pick a fight with him. Moreover... I have a very familiar feeling about him."
"Familiar?" Schtrude shook his head gently, not wanting to delve further. "Forget it! Poor Sam..."
Millie’s eyes reddened.
This mission was supposed to be foolproof. I didn’t expect Vincent to have a backup plan, leading to Sam’s instant death. In fact, if Schtrude hadn’t secretly followed and helped in ti, I wouldn’t have survived. In the end, an outsider rescued us. I almost got everyone killed.
"Let’s go!" Schtrude looked at Millie. "This place isn’t safe."
"Mm." Millie nodded, tears falling, as they both dashed toward the depths of the dense forest.
After they left, Carl’s figure reappeared nearby, thoughtfully watching their retreating backs.
Sam is dead? Sigh! Indeed. One shouldn’t take risks without sufficient strength. The most important thing is to steadily improve one’s power.
