Ayala turned to look back. "But there are people on the island; we can find a guide."

"People?" Carl looked forward and asked, "Who lives on the island?"

"Because of the volcanic eruption, many things were brought up from below, among which are Fire Stones that can ignite items," Ayala explained. "There are several rchant caravans in Jiliu City that specialize in trading Fire Stones. There is also basalt and volcanic ash for sale."

The rocks ford from the cooling and solidification of lava after a volcanic eruption are called basalt. The island’s surface was covered with a thick layer of volcanic ash. Volcanic ash is rich in nutrients, making it one of the rare materials that can be used to cultivate crops in the barren Jiliu City.

"Is that so?" Carl nodded slowly. "The volcanic eruption destroyed everything that was here before, but it also brought new life. Nature’s ways are truly miraculous... We don’t need a guide; let’s go up directly!"

The two of them did not choose to land on the gentle slopes but disembarked near the volcano.

Ayala, now a Knight, was nimble, moving with ease even on the steep mountain terrain.

Upon setting foot on the island, they walked, pausing intermittently, with Carl occasionally picking up objects from the ground for close examination. There were clusters of plant life on the island, struggling to survive in the harsh environnt among the stone peaks and soil. So dark red stones were scattered around them.

"Is this a Fire Stone?" Carl picked one up, squinting as he scrutinized it.

"Yes," Ayala nodded. "Fire Stones vary in quality. The one in Uncle’s hand is a good one; it can easily produce sparks. An arrowhead made from it can even ignite on impact with a target, causing secondary damage from flas."

"Hmm..."

"’Fire Stone!’ Carl nodded. ’The elental arrangent inside is very interesting, sowhat similar to... The creations of nature are indeed wonderful.’"

Putting away the Fire Stone, they continued onward.

Hm? As they neared a pile of rubble, Carl paused and waved his hand. Hand of the Lesser Wizard! Imnse spiritual power materialized into an invisible hand, striking like a mountain-pushing palm and sending the rubble flying. Beneath it, a greyish-red stone was revealed.

"Eh?" Ayala looked surprised. "Such a large Fire Stone?"

"No!" Approaching, she touched the surface of the stone and shook her head gently. "It’s not a Fire Stone."

"Indeed, it’s not a Fire Stone; it should be called Fire Jade," Carl squatted down, his gaze complex as he touched the stone. "It’s a pity... The quality is too poor!"

Fire Jade is a common material for crafting Fire Elent amulets, often found near volcanoes, especially after an eruption. Carl had asked Wizard Burn about amulet crafting thods because he had the resources of this place in mind. In this Otherworld, where he was the only Wizard, it would be a disservice to himself not to exploit the resources here.

This piece of Fire Jade was as big as a basin, its surface rough, full of pits, and covered in many cracks. Such Fire Jade was unsuitable for crafting Seals. To inscribe a Magic Model onto a Seal, its interior must be smooth and unobstructed, with no blockages.

Although the quality was poor, the fact that Fire Jade could be found here was still good news.

"Let’s go!" Carl withdrew his gaze. "Let’s keep going and look for similar items."

"Okay," Ayala nodded and suggested, "Shall we split up to search?"

"Alright," Carl nodded in agreent.

「As evening approached.」

The two converged again. Carl’s hands were empty, while Ayala’s backpack was stuffed full, a heavy and bulging load.

CLATTER... Upon opening the backpack, a pile of reddish stones tumbled out.

Carl crouched down and sifted through them, picking out three stones of varying sizes and sweeping the rest aside. "These three are barely acceptable."

He took one and handed it to Ayala. "Tell the people on the island that I’ll buy this type of fire... Fire Jade for one hundred Divine Grace Coins each. If they are large and of good quality, the price can be higher."

"Yes," Ayala took the Fire Jade, nodding in agreent. "However, Uncle, these things are mostly found near the mountain peak; ordinary people probably won’t co across them."

"No matter," Carl waved his hand. "This isn’t urgent."

Indeed, it wasn’t urgent. The quality of the Fire Jades they had found so far was quite average, unsuitable for crafting First Order Seals. However, they could be used for Carl to practice Zero-Circle Magic. Even with the Absolute Sanity enhancent from the Divine Domain Fragnt, his success rate for crafting First Order Seals was almost zero; he still needed to accumulate experience.

Like Great Divine Grace, Fire Jade was a long-term prospect for him. This active volcano, which in the Magic Forest would be enough for two major families to share, was now his alone to use. Even if it ant relying on a brute-force approach with materials, he could still beco an expert at crafting Seals.

Having returned to his accommodations, Carl went into his room and took out several Fire Jades from his storage pendant. His gaze lingered on one of them, a smile appearing on his face.

"Even an Evil God is a deity. The pirates on Fla Island were influenced by the Evil God’s consciousness, causing mutations, and the island itself was also contaminated.

"It’s difficult to say whether this contamination is good or bad, but it has caused the quality of so Fire Jades to change."

Picking up that Fire Jade, he mused, "This piece should be considered a high-grade Fire Jade; it could be exchanged for a good amount of Magic Stones.

"Otherworld!

"There are so many treasures waiting to be discovered.

"Previously, my power was insufficient. But now that I’ve beco a Wizard, in an Otherworld with almost no Second Order beings, I finally don’t have to be overly cautious. It’s ti to explore the treasures hidden in the mystical seas."

According to his cautious explorations over the years, aside from a few Dukes, there should be no Second Order beings in this Otherworld. The Abyss Giant Squid possessed a Third-tier bloodline yet only had the strength of a peak First Order being.
