"Stop them!"
"We can’t hold them back!"
Lula’s eyes showed despair. After the monstrous rampage, the Dragon King Chamber of Comrce suffered heavy casualties, and the powers of several Great Knights were also greatly reduced. Facing the incoming Jiaoren, it was incredibly difficult to form an effective resistance.
What’s more, it seed that another Legendary Creature was approaching from behind, and among the Jiaoren, there were so comparable to Great Knights.
"Run!"
"Let’s get out of here first."
In the chaos, taking advantage of the darkness and the fog, Carl quickly stored the body of the Legendary Creature into the Divine Domain Fragnt. Then he hurriedly fled.
Source Material: 0.2
It wasn’t an illusion! Carl’s expression was solemn. When he had killed that Legendary Creature, a burst of essence had surged into his mind. That essence was indeed Source Material!
Killing a Legendary Creature actually yields Source Material? Or do Legendary Creatures inherently contain Source Material?
Or...
Was that Legendary Creature sowhat special?
If killing Legendary Creatures could yield Source Material, then there was another way to obtain it. For him now, the power of Legendary Creatures was still too strong, but in the future, perhaps he could hunt them easily.
Could it be that aside from entities related to the Divine, Legendary Creatures also possess Source Material? Or does this particular Legendary Creature carry the bloodline of a Divine?
"Uncle."
Ayala’s voice interrupted Carl’s contemplation. She was wrapped in a thin blanket, huddled close. After thinking for a mont, she spoke slowly, "I think I saw Leon."
"Hmm?" Carl ca back to his senses. "You must be seeing things. Leon died of Hydrarch a long ti ago. You still can’t accept it."
"No." Ayala shook her head and spoke softly, "It was a Jiaoren. Although he has changed his appearance, I think that Jiaoren is Leon. I... I can’t be mistaken."
Carl turned to look at Ayala.
Ayala looked serious, not at all like she was confused. But what she said was too incredible.
"Impossible..."
"I’m not mistaken!" Ayala clenched her teeth tightly. "Leon and I grew up together, ate together, slept together. Even if he changed his appearance, I would still recognize him."
"Does he recognize you?" Carl asked.
Ayala went silent. She had desperately shouted Leon’s na at that ti but got no response, almost getting killed instead.
Even so.
"I’m not mistaken! I’m not mistaken! That’s Leon! That Jiaoren... it’s Leon, even though he’s changed!"
"Uncle, I know you don’t believe it." She turned to the side and lowered her voice. "I was sowhat doubtful myself. But just now, I heard so people say Miss Lula’s younger brother turned into a Jiaoren."
"Younger brother?" Carl frowned. "The son of the forr Chamber head who died of Hydrarch?"
"He didn’t die but was imrsed in a water pool by so special thod and kept sowhere else," Ayala explained. "A few days ago, he turned into a Jiaoren."
Carl’s eyes narrowed. If what Ayala was saying was true, then there was an explanation for the Jiaoren suddenly appearing in the Endless Sea Domain.
Patients suffering from Hydrarch turned into Jiaoren!
Bloodline Magic?
No! It’s the power of an Evil God!
So Evil God has been silently transforming normal humans into Jiaoren.
Carl spoke, his voice hoarse, "Ayala, do you know how many people are thrown into the water every year because they contract Hydrarch?"
"I don’t know the exact number, but people contract Hydrarch every day. On so days, it’s dozens or even hundreds." Ayala counted on her fingers. "Over the decades..."
Her face turned deathly pale, her eyes lost focus, and her body trembled uncontrollably.
Hundreds of thousands! At least hundreds of thousands!
This number of Jiaoren, let alone in Freedom Port, if placed in Carl’s original world, could easily overthrow a kingdom without Divine intervention. Even Legendary Knights could not alter the outco.
SWISH!
Carl stood up, his eyes intensely fixed on the fog-enveloped Freedom Port. He had originally thought that the Jiaoren assault on Freedom Port, though strange, would eventually see them retreat back to the Endless Sea. The Human Clan was supposed to be the masters of this land; they just needed to temporarily ride out the storm.
But now, it was very likely that Freedom Port would be lost forever.
Then there would be no water monkeys. Without water monkeys, no Berserk Potion could be concocted, and then, the Great Divine Grace...
No! I have to salvage a few first!
「Sickle Brotherhood headquarters.」
A white snake, tens of ters long, crashed to the ground, its house-sized head rolling from its body. Holding a huge sickle, Yaheng, the leader of the Brotherhood, landed lightly, his expression also grim. Among the leaders of the three major forces, his strength was the weakest. Luckily for him, the supre-grade Dharma Seal, Black Fla, on his body could directly burn an opponent’s life force, giving him a considerable advantage against Legendary Creatures. Coupled with the Brotherhood’s nurous Great Knights, they could still barely hold on against the swarming Jiaoren.
Taking a deep breath, Yaheng spoke in a muffled voice, "What’s the situation at the City Lord’s?"
One man sighed, "Chieftain. Several Legendary Creatures have appeared near the City Lord’s Manor. Our people simply can’t get close. Even if they got in, they wouldn’t be able to co back out."
In short, no reinforcents had been summoned, nor had any ssages returned.
"Chieftain." The Second Elder, Baird, his eyes shifting, volunteered, "How about I go?"
"You?" Yaheng frowned, then nodded. "Fine. You must bring reinforcents. If the City Lord doesn’t act, we won’t last long."
"Yes." Baird adopted a serious expression. "I will certainly bring reinforcents."
Saying so, he turned and leaped towards the outside of the headquarters. The outside was shrouded in fog, obscuring vision, but it didn’t affect Baird, who knew Freedom Port like the back of his hand.
