Under the moonlight.

Chen Qi thought about it—the forest wasn’t the best place to cook.

So, at his suggestion, he and the Floral Witch moved to a clearing near the Hunting Ground entrance.

The view was wide, the night scene was nice, the breeze was pleasant, and there were chirping birds and insects.

A perfect spot for an outdoor al.

Chen Qi sat down, gathered so branches and fire-starting tools, and began building a small grill.

The Floral Witch, still hugging the heavy treasure chest, stood there and stared blankly.

So skilled!

Is this what a chef looks like? So well-prepared.

But why would a chef co into a Rift? And how does he have the Old Hunter’s key?

Little flowers shaped like question marks popped up over the Floral Witch’s head.

Because Chen Qi had the Old Hunter’s key ring in his hand.

In her eyes, Chen Qi seed cloaked in a mysterious aura—completely unpredictable.

He’s definitely no ordinary guy… the Floral Witch thought to herself.

Chen Qi sliced the at and skewered it with sticks.

“The ingredients I brought are only good for so grilled at. Do you like spicy food?”

“A little… I prefer sweet.”

The question-mark flowers instantly turned into little yellow flowers of anticipation.

The Floral Witch sat cross-legged, wiped the corner of her mouth, and then placed her hands neatly on her knees, quietly waiting for the at to cook.

Chen Qi glanced at the Floral Witch.

That sitting posture—it looked like so kind of table etiquette.

Based on forum info, the Floral Witch was from one of the top Transcendent families in the Goldenfinch Kingdom—a true noble.

The Goldenfinch Kingdom was known as the Land of Art, and the noble families there placed great emphasis on etiquette.

Which explained the Floral Witch’s strange obsession with “elegance.”

Chen Qi placed the skewers on the grill, lit the charcoal, and thought to himself:

“Never thought I’d run into the Floral Witch at a ti like this.”

In the early stages of the ga, the Floral Witch hadn’t made any big moves yet—she was just a mysterious figure in the newspapers.

A lot of opportunities for growth were tied to major events.

The Floral Witch was definitely soone destined for big things—and so was he.

So long as they both road this sea, it was only a matter of ti before their paths crossed.

Still, eting her this early was definitely a surprise.

As the flas gradually rose, the aroma of grilled at filled the air.

Chen Qi looked at the chest beside the Floral Witch, reached out, and asked:

“Floral Witch, the at’s just about done. How about we split the stuff in the chest now?”

The Floral Witch tore her gaze away from the at, paused, and said:

“Y-yeah, okay!”

She quickly handed the chest to Chen Qi.

Chen Qi accepted it. It really felt like she didn’t care at all about what was inside.

He used the key to unlock the chest.

Inside, there was a pistol, a piece of clothing, so gold coins, and a pile of herbs.

Chen Qi picked up the clothing, and a special prompt appeared before his eyes.

【Hunter’s Garb

Affinity: Void

Description: This gear is made from the pelt of a Mist Fox. It offers decent defense and cos with the active skill “Mistwalk.”

Mistwalk: When activated, it forms a mist around the body that conceals your presence.

Note: Sneak, Hunter! Hit their backs and blow them up!】

Void-affinity stealth-type Transcendent gear!

Void stood for “nothing,” and a lot of its equipnt focused on concealnt.

But seriously, why use the word “stab” in that note?

Chen Qi grumbled internally, then felt the fabric in his hand.

Dark gray, slightly matte texture, with Mist Fox fur lining the inside.

It was made from Transcendent materials and could even help him resist bullet impact.

Compared to the ordinary clothes he was wearing now, this was a powerful piece of armor!

Good stuff… Chen Qi turned to the pistol next.

【Beast-Hunting Pistol

Affinity: Blade

Description: A seemingly ordinary handgun, but actually boosts bullet power by over three tis!

Note: Blow off those beasts’ heads.】

A revolver crafted with Transcendent materials, using standard caliber bullets.

Its power was a notch above the Collector's pistol—definitely a solid small weapon.

Chen Qi then looked at the gold coins—five in total, not too big. Probably worth around 300,000 Bay Coins.

As for the herbs, it was half a chest full of Blood-Tooth Grass.

Blood-Tooth Grass was used to make Rage Potions, which caused loss of reason and a short-term power boost.

This much Blood-Tooth Grass was probably worth 500,000 Bay Coins. But if turned into Rage Potions, the value could easily triple.

Chen Qi estimated the total value and said:

“I’ll take the Hunter’s Garb. The other three items are yours—Floral Witch, how’s that sound?”

The Hunter’s Garb was definitely the most valuable item in the chest.

The Floral Witch looked down and checked, then took the herbs.

“Hmm… I don’t use guns. You can have the pistol too.”

“But then I’m taking way more valuable stuff.”

Chen Qi glanced at her.

She was still laser-focused on the grilled at.

The Floral Witch thought for a mont.

“Is that so… But if I took the pistol, I’d just sell it to so store. That’d only benefit those sleazy rchants.

How about this—if we ever et again, and you have rare herbs, give them to instead.”

Herbs…

Chen Qi thought it over.

Herbs were hard for him to get, but with his Deep Sea Affinity, he could probably get a lot of deep-sea-related ingredients.

“Alright.”

Chen Qi figured he couldn’t make potions anyway.

If he got good herbs, it made sense to give them to the Floral Witch.

She was still staring at the at.

Though she talked about “eting again,” she figured the chances were slim.

After all, she was a witch destined for great things!

Next ti Chen Qi saw her, she’d probably be on the front page of the newspaper.

The aroma of grilled at filled the air.

She still sat there calmly.

Maybe to cover up the fact that she was starving, she hadn’t said a word about eating.

Chen Qi took out two bottles of wine and said:

“Floral Witch, the at’s just about ready—let’s eat.”
