Nori returned victorious... and almost empty of Magic Energy. "Is it ... or are the Magic Beasts in this Planet Stronger?" He couldn't help but ask.
Linfel agreed with him. "They are," then he looked around and Magic Energy accumulated around him. "The concentration of Magic Energy in the air is at least three tis higher than back in Serfen Planet. Well, that's what you would expect of the Ventis Sect that controls such a huge territory. But..."
Linfel looked at the body of the Magic Beast that Nori just killed. "That also makes the Magic Beasts on the planet stronger by default. It is not bad, though. They proportionate even better training for all disciples venturing into the Magic Beast Territories."
Their group moved, and this ti, Linfel gave Milia a task. She could use only ten Magic Energy Channels at a ti. Also, she could not go back to the previously used Ten Magic Channels, or ridians, until she used all the other channels in her body.
Alvin heard that and bitterly smiled. He absolutely rembers when Linfel put him through that kind of training. It was a kind of training you would not see anyone using in Serfen Planet since it impaired their leveling speed. The concept of focusing so much on Magic Energy Control was pretty much unheard of.
Alvin thought about Linfel's words back then, which were the sa he used for Milia. "The ridians of Maguses are different from the Magic Energy Channels from Familiars. They are living things that are connected to your senses of the body. However, because you have used them all at once during your entire life, you can't even distinguish each one."
Alvin tried to focus on his ridians, but he noticed how hard it was to pay attention to a single one. "Yeah.. it is quite difficulty."
Linfel continued. "I can imagine. So, from now on, you will use only ten ridians at a ti and not repeat them until you have gone through all the ridians."
"Is that even possible...?" Alvin couldn't help but comnt.
"Hmph!" Linfel didn't seem to care. "If you can't even control your ridians independently, what kind of Magic Energy Control do you think you can achieve? There is no such thing as possible or impossible; you just have to do it! I don't mind if you keep ssing up during the start. However, if I sense that you gave up and returned to your normal usage of all ridians... Hehe!"
Back in the present, Alvin felt a chill on his back. He failed... many tis... and every ti he did, an even more hellish punishnt awaited for him. Eventually, he managed to use ten at a ti and alternate without repeating.
Soti later, Linfel had him actively change those numbers. Ten at a ti, then fifteen, then twenty, then five, and keep a mix of random numbers. Today, Alvin could easily feel, close, and open every single one of his ridians... but that was anything but easy. A huge part of his great Magic Energy Control ca through this thod.
"What are you looking at?" Linfel looked at Alvin. "Does it feel funny seeing Milia starting the sa training as you did? Very well, we can't stop your training either. Do the sa thing as Milia, but add three ridians every turn. Also, you can't use the ridians for more than a second before going to the next ones, or you will pay later."
"A SECOND?!" Alvin felt like crying. "That's too much! I will absolutely ss up!"
"Good!" Linfel nodded. "It's through trial and error that you will get proficiency. Now, quit complaining and do it! You already know what will happen if I sense you slacking out."
Alvin gritted his teeth as tears fell from his eyes and focused on his ridians.
*Tud!*
Too bad such a task required so much concentration that he stumbled a few seconds later, falling with his face on the ground. Fortunately, he was used to Linfel's ridiculous thods, so he quickly got up and restarted. What he absolutely couldn't do was to stop. If he did, then he would be in for even more pain.
"Seems like I tad y- Ahem... trained you pretty well," Linfel nodded, satisfied.
"You said ta, right? Right?!" Alvin complained again.
*Bzzz!*
*Arrghh!*
Suddenly, a spark of lightning hit Alvin's butt, making him jump. Sure enough, it was Linfel. "You lost your focus again."
Alvin continued crying and returned his attention to the task while they kept running.
Milia looked at Alvin's expression and couldn't help but giggle.
*Bzzz!*
*Ouch!*
Too bad Linfel never took his senses from her either. "What? Were you jealous of his punishnt? Don't worry, I'm completely full of Magic Energy to use, so I can zap your butt as many tis as I will probably zap his."
Milia glared at Linfel, but Linfel seed to not care. Even worse, she couldn't do anything. Linfel was faster, stronger, had better control, and was more intelligent. Getting revenge for that attack was a dream within a dream.
"Hmph!" How could Linfel not tell what she was thinking? "You said it yourself. I should not hold back, so I won't. What you will go through is the sa as Alvin did, so I recomnd you to focus on your task."
Nori was just as angry, but he was really spent after the last battle, so he barely had the energy to complain.
*Bzz!*
*ouch!*
*Zap!*
*Arrghh!*
*Bzt!*
*Yai!*
Another hour went by in that fashion, Linfel being rciless. Because Alvin's task was several tis harder than Milia, he got zapped just as much as her. As for Milia, her task was obviously much easier, but she had never done that before, thus the similar number of zaps.
Still, Linfel couldn't help but feel impressed. 'Compared to Alvin back then, her proficiency is definitely much higher. I'm not zapping her anywhere near as much as I did Alvin. Well, at least Alvin had the perseverance to push it to the end. That's the most important.'
Suddenly, another Magic Beast entered Linfel's Magic Sense. "Halt!"
Alvin and Milia stopped before quickly moving to Linfel's side. Both of them had their hands rubbing their buttocks, several holes in their pants after so many shocks. They already had no extra clothes, so how will they deal with it later. That was a question for the future.
"Above, a Level Four Zoinhic Hawk, the main elent is wind. Alvin and Milia will fight together. Nori will wait on the side with . Don't use more than half of your ridians at once, and you must swap to other ridians every thirty seconds. Now then, go ahead."
Alvin and Milia, seeing each other's butts, weren't even in the mood to feel embarrassed. Linfel didn't give them that comfort. They could only tighten their fists and jump ahead to face the Level Four Zoinhic Hawk.
