Following Calix’s return from the detention center, he filled in every detail to Andrian and Vernon. His father and brother were aware of Nicholas’ arrest and Xander’s plan but, they hadn’t heard the latest developnt.
"Xander and I will make sure our family won’t be brought up during his trials later. Grandma won’t ever hear about him, much less what he had done."
Andrian and Vernon applauded Calix and Xander’s cooperation. They agreed that Nicholas might still run free if not for Xander’s assistance.
The following days were more peaceful than ever.
Calix and Leslie invited Xander, Ryken and Davin for dinner this Sunday. Because of the good weather as forecasted, they would host a small gathering in the backyard.
The original plan was for Saturday but, CEO Xu had another important schedule on that day.

An anxious Calix stared at Leslie as they huddled on the bed with a tablet in his hand one night. The special plan for this Saturday was displayed clearly on the screen.
Hearty chuckles rolled out from Leslie’s mouth. She eyed Calix with helplessness, thinking how silly her loveable husband could be sotis.
"You made a good plan in just two days, honey. Poppy will surely love it!"
Calix smiled sheepishly as he received complints from Leslie. His eyes darted from his wife’s face to the tablet where the title was boldly colored in hot pink.

Calix was inspired by a video he found on his social dia on the sa day he visited Nicholas. He initially wanted to look for cute cat videos to cheer him up.
By chance, Calix stumbled upon a lovely video of a father and his toddler daughter going on a date, just the two of them.
The father and daughter duo wore stylish outfits before spending their day together. They went to a lake park where they had a picnic and played gas together.
Calix imdiately imagined doing the sa for Calliope. Without wasting ti, he sent the video link to Leslie and asked for her opinion, to which he received his wife’s full support.

After pondering about it, Calix decided to execute his plan this coming Saturday. He knew he still had ti to make a perfect plan for him and his dear daughter.
Thus, Calix spent hours searching for suggestions on the Internet, including asking for Leslie’s opinion. His lovely wife ever so patiently guided him when he almost went astray.
For example... almost renting the entire the park.
Cough.
At the sa ti, Calix carefully selected and purchased a new dress for Calliope, specifically to be worn this Saturday.
Fortunately, his lovely wife didn’t think it was far-fetched to get the dress for their daughter.
Leslie playfully slapped Calix’s arm, amused by the sheepish smile on his lips. She was inwardly relieved to see her husband was no longer burdened by their previous obstacle.
"Don’t overthink ah. You’ll get gray hairs before the year ends," Leslie laughed, her rry laughter echoing in the bedroom, "Poppy will enjoy this very much."
After thinking of several venues, Calix decided to bring Calliope to the the park. He made sure the itinerary wouldn’t trouble a child like the little dumpling.
"Okay... I will try. Haa..."
Calix exhaled a sigh, repeating the gesture a few tis. Leslie playfully poked his right cheek, earning a sorry look from him.
More chuckles escaped Leslie’s lips. Leaning on Calix’s chest, she grasped one of his hands, lightly pressing her thumb on the center of his broad, calloused palm.
"Our Poppy enjoyed the spinning tea cup the most when I brought her there," said Leslie, recalling the first and last ti she treated Calliope to a the park trip in their previous life.
A ticket to a the park was already expensive, especially for two people despite the other person being a child. Not including the funds for food and souvenirs yet.
Leslie tightened her belts more than usual for three months for the trip. On the day she brought Calliope to the the park, she also made so food to avoid overspending.
Still, Leslie bought the park’s special parfait and pancakes for Calliope, including getting her a lovely T-shirt as a souvenir. Seeing how delighted the little one was filled her heart with joy.
Calix pursed his lips, sensing the slight sadness in Leslie’s voice. Bringing her closer to him, he gently stroked her face with one hand.
"You’re indeed the best mother our daughter could have, my love," Calix whispered, his llow voice low, "Poppy might not rember it anymore but, her happiness before was true."
Calix knew that Mimo could return Calliope’s mories of her previous life to her. Leslie told him once. He also clarified the matter with the crochet fox toy.
Like Leslie, Calix agreed to bury those mories forever. He didn’t want their daughter to be confused with them.
Calliope was too young to understand what happened to her, and to her parents as well.
Leslie’s lips lted into a smile. Tilting her chin up, her eyes locking into Calix’s, seeing the overflowing adoration he held for her and their daughter.
The sa as how she felt for them.
"I’ve said it many tis before, but..." Leslie paused, smiling sweetly at Calix, "I’m very glad that you get to enjoy what you missed out before."
Understanding what Leslie ant, Calix nodded twice, a lump clogging his throat. The blessings he received in this new lifeti were countless.
"And... we get to enjoy our life together this ti," Calix whispered, his voice imbued with a suppressed sob, "Next year will be even better for our family, sweetheart."
Leslie said nothing. The smile on her lips was enough to tell Calix that she also believed the sa.
Nestling in each other’s embrace, the eternal lovebirds drifted to sleep with the hope of a better future glowing brightly in their united hearts.
